00:05The engines on the island of Sodor keep very busy.
00:11There are always lots of jobs to do.
00:17One morning the Fat Controller came to Tidmouth Sheds.
00:21A new engine has arrived on the island, he announced.
00:25His name is Neville. You must all make him feel welcome.
00:31A happy engine is a useful engine.
00:36Later, Thomas was stopped at a signal.
00:39The signalman called out to Thomas.
00:42The bridge ahead is unsafe.
00:44Thomas, you are to collect a piece of ironwork so the bridge can be repaired.
00:49Yes sir, huffed Thomas.
00:54At the yards, Harry and Bert were with Neville, the new engine.
00:58Neville was a steamy, but he had a square body like a diesel.
01:03Neville was backing up towards some trucks.
01:07Nearly there, said Harry cheekily.
01:10Nearly there, said Bert naughtily.
01:13Then there was trouble.
01:15Watch where you're going clumsy wheels, Harry and Bert laughed.
01:20Neville looked sad.
01:23It's not our fault you're a silly steamy, hoiled Bert, and they laughed even harder.
01:33Thomas arrived at the yards.
01:35He could see Harry and Bert laughing with Neville.
01:39That must be the new engine, he thought.
01:42He must be friends with the diesels.
01:45Thomas arrived at Knapford Station.
01:48Have you seen the new engine yet? asked James.
01:52Yes, said Thomas.
01:54But we'd better be careful.
01:56I saw them at the yards with Harry and Bert.
01:59They were laughing together.
02:02James was shocked.
02:04A steamy, friendly with diesels.
02:10Harry and Bert were in a hurry.
02:14As Thomas left, Edward called in.
02:18Have you heard about the new engine? snorted James.
02:22And he started to tell Edward all about Neville.
02:27Later, Edward was taking on water.
02:30He was talking to Percy.
02:32That new steamy Neville is best friends with the diesels, Edward puffed.
02:37He doesn't want to be with steamies at all.
02:41How do you know? peeped Percy.
02:44James told me and Thomas told him, whistled Edward.
02:49Then later, Percy met Emily at a red signal.
02:54Don't go near Neville, the new engine, he told her.
02:58The diesels have told them to biff into steamies.
03:02Edward told me, James told Edward and they all heard it from Thomas.
03:11When Thomas arrived at Abbey Station, the Fat Controller was there.
03:17Chummers, you must warn all engines not to cross the bridge until it is repaired, he boomed.
03:25Thomas felt proud.
03:27It was a very useful job.
03:29Just then, he heard a whistle.
03:32Someone was coming.
03:34Thomas had to warn them.
03:37It was Neville, pulling Annie and Clarabel.
03:42Thomas was shocked.
03:44Annie and Clarabel were his carriages.
03:47Allo, puffed Neville cheerfully.
03:50I'm not talking to you, Thomas, huffed crossly.
03:54Neville didn't know what he had done.
03:59Then Emily pulled in next to Neville.
04:02Allo, said Neville happily.
04:04Emily let out a wheesh of steam.
04:07It's no use trying to make friends with me.
04:10I know you're going to biff into all the steamies, just like Harry and Bert told you to.
04:15Thomas was surprised, but the Station Master blew his whistle.
04:20And Neville puffed sadly away.
04:25Where did you hear that Neville is going to biff into all the steamies?
04:29Thomas asked Emily.
04:31Don't you know, Emily whistled.
04:33Percy told me, Edward told Percy, James told Edward and you told James, huffed Emily.
04:39But I only said to James that I'd see Neville with Harry and Bert.
04:45Then Toby arrived.
04:47Have you heard about Neville, the new engine? He puffed.
04:52Henry saw Harry and Bert be horrible to him at the yards.
04:56Emily was shocked.
04:58Thomas couldn't believe it.
05:01Neville wasn't friends with the diesels after all.
05:05Where was Neville going? Emily tooted.
05:09Cinders and ashes, cried Thomas.
05:12Neville's heading for the broken bridge. I must stop him.
05:17Neville was speeding through the countryside as fast as he could.
05:25Suddenly, Neville saw a barrier on the track.
05:29He slammed on his brakes.
05:33But it was too late.
05:39Neville was in terrible trouble.
05:43He was on the broken end of the bridge.
05:47Thomas knew it was all his fault.
05:50Suddenly, he had an idea.
05:53Thomas steamed slowly and carefully onto the bridge.
05:57He gently bumped Clarabel and was coupled up.
06:01Thomas was very scared.
06:03Slowly and steadily, he began to pull Neville back from the edge.
06:10The bridge made a creaking noise.
06:12Thomas knew he must hurry.
06:14He pulled as hard as he could and with one big puff,
06:18he pulled Neville's wheels off the bridge.
06:23Thomas had done it.
06:26He had saved Neville and Annie and Clarabel.
06:31Thank you, whistled Neville.
06:34I should have warned you, puffed Thomas.
06:37But I was too busy believing silly stories.
06:40I thought you didn't like steamies, but now I know I was wrong.
06:44Thomas gave Neville a long friendly toot.
06:48Neville was very happy.
06:50At last he knew he had a good friend in Thomas.
