00:00Bold and brave, it was almost summer on the island of Sodor.
00:09All the engines were busy. They were looking forward to the start of the holiday season.
00:18One morning the Fat Controller came to the sheds.
00:22It's time to get the seaside station ready for the summer visitors.
00:27Thomas, you are to pick up the deck chairs and windbreaks and take them to the beach.
00:33Yes, sir, tooted Thomas.
00:36And he hurried off happily.
00:42You're looking very cheerful, Thomas, oiled Diesel.
00:47Thomas told Diesel all about his exciting job.
00:52Haven't you heard about the curse of the cliffs?
00:56Oiled Diesel, no, tooted Thomas nervously.
01:02Diesel snorted.
01:04Whenever the first engine of the holiday season goes round the headland,
01:09a terrible fog comes down over the cliffs.

01:44Finally, Thomas reached the supply shed.
01:49Workers had loaded his trucks with windbreaks and deck chairs.
01:54Thomas puffed slowly on his way.
01:58He was thinking about the curse of the cliffs.
02:03Suddenly, he saw Harold the helicopter.
02:06Harold had bad news.
02:09Thick fog rolling in on the headland, Harold shouted.

02:16And Harold whirred away over the treetops.
02:20Thomas was now very scared.

02:41Thomas was approaching a tunnel when he saw Ben.

02:55I was enjoying myself until I met Diesel, said Ben unhappily.
03:01He told me a monster lives in this tunnel.
03:05Now I'm too scared to go through.
03:08I'm sure Diesel can't be right about the monster, Thomas said.
03:13Why don't I go into the tunnel first, he said.

03:20Thomas puffed slowly into the tunnel.
03:25He heard a strange noise.

04:40He realized that workmen must be working there.

04:50Soon Thomas came across workers making tea.

04:59Ben was also very relieved.
05:02You're a very brave engine, said Ben.

05:09And he puffed away.
05:14Thomas was happy to help Ben.
05:18Then he remembered that he still had to get to the beach.
05:22And he remembered Diesel's warning about the curse of the cliffs.
05:33Thomas felt very nervous as he puffed towards the headland.

06:32Soon the seaside station was up ahead.
06:37At last Thomas reached the station on the other side of the headland.
06:42Thomas knew that soon the beach would be filled with happy holidaymakers.
06:47I should not have believed what Diesel said about the curse of the cliffs, wheezed Thomas.
06:53In future, Thomas decided he would believe in himself.
