00:00Thomas and the Golden Eagle
00:05There are many different animals on the island of Sodor.
00:09There are deer,
00:13cows and sheep,
00:18and lots of beautiful birds.
00:23One morning, the Fat Controller came to Tidmouth Sheds.
00:27A golden eagle has been seen at Bluff's Cove, he said.
00:31It is a very special bird.
00:33Birdwatchers are coming from far and wide.
00:36Thomas and Percy both wanted to take the birdwatchers to Bluff's Cove
00:40and to see the golden eagle.
00:42But the Fat Controller chose Emily.
00:45Percy, you are to collect milk from the dairy, said the Fat Controller.
00:50And Thomas, you are to collect stone from the quarry.
00:54It must reach Brendam Docks before the boat sails.
00:58The Fat Controller left.
01:01Thomas and Percy were disappointed.
01:03I wish I were taking the birdwatchers, Percy said sadly.
01:08And I wish I could see the golden eagle, puffed Thomas as he set off.
01:15Thomas arrived at the quarry.
01:18There were trucks of stone as far as the eye could see.
01:24CINDERS AND ASHES
01:29Cinders and ashes, gasped Thomas.
01:33But he soon buffered up and puffed slowly away.
01:41Thomas had to stop at the junction to Bluff's Cove.
01:46Percy was waiting there.
01:49They both watched as Emily cheerfully chuffed past.
01:53Her carriages were filled with happy birdwatchers.
01:56I wish I could go up to Bluff's Cove, Thomas huffed.
02:00Then he had an idea.
02:02Percy liked ideas.
02:04My train is long and heavy.
02:06If you take half of my trucks to the docks, I can go and find the golden eagle.
02:12Percy listened carefully.
02:14Then I will collect the other half of my trucks and it will be your turn to go and see the eagle.
02:20Percy thought this was a grand idea.
02:27Thomas shunted his trucks into the side.
02:34It will be quicker to take half of the trucks to Brendam Docks, Thomas said happily to Percy.
02:41And he headed for Bluff's Cove.
02:45Percy buffered up to the train and puffed slowly away with half of Thomas' trucks.
03:00Thomas arrived at Bluff's Cove in no time at all.
03:04He waited and waited.
03:06He was sure the golden eagle would come.
03:09But the golden eagle was nowhere to be seen.
03:14Thomas was disappointed.
03:17Then Percy the bus pulled up.
03:21The golden eagle has been seen on Gordon's Hill, he called.
03:25How exciting! I must get there right away, cried Thomas.
03:29And he set off for Gordon's Hill at once.
03:35Thomas was so excited about seeing the golden eagle, he couldn't think of anything else.
03:42He forgot about the trucks full of stone.
03:47And he forgot about Percy.
03:51Percy had taken half of Thomas' trucks to the docks.
03:55Now he headed for the dairy to deliver the milk.
03:58He was happy, he'd have time to see the golden eagle.
04:03When Percy passed the siding near Bluff's Cove,
04:07he was surprised to see Thomas' half of the trucks still there.
04:11If the boat sails without them, Thomas will be in trouble, worried Percy.
04:17Percy decided to help his friend.
04:22Percy buffered up to the long line of trucks
04:28and slowly puffed away.
04:32Percy got to the docks just in time.
04:38The quarry wagons were uncoupled
04:42and Percy set off again for the dairy.
04:45He was feeling very tired.
04:49Thomas was feeling full of puff.
04:52He wheeshed happily up Gordon's Hill.
04:55He was sure he would see the golden eagle now.
04:58Thomas watched and waited,
05:02waited and watched.
05:05But the eagle didn't come.
05:08I'll never see the golden eagle, Thomas said sadly.
05:13Suddenly Thomas remembered his trucks of stone
05:17and Percy, cinders and ashes, he cried.
05:21And he steamed off to the siding as fast as he could.
05:25But he didn't find his trucks.
05:28He found Percy.
05:30He was stuck in the siding
05:32and he had not taken the milk to the dairy.
05:35I took all your trucks to Brendan, Pete Percy,
05:39but now I've run out of coal.
05:42Thomas realised now that Percy couldn't see the golden eagle
05:46and it was all his fault.
05:50Percy the bus tooted excitedly.
05:53The golden eagle has been seen back down the line,
05:56he called.
05:57Hurry, Thomas!
05:59I must take the milk to the dairy, cried Thomas,
06:03or Percy will be in trouble.
06:06The dairy manager was waiting when Thomas arrived.
06:10He delivered the fresh milk just in time.
06:14Thomas was very happy.
06:16Then he set off to rescue Percy.
06:20Together, Thomas and Percy puffed slowly to the coal depot.
06:25But on the way, they were astonished to see
06:28there, high on the rocks, not one, but two golden eagles.
06:34Thomas and Percy watched the two beautiful birds.
06:40Seeing two golden eagles is a wonderful thing, puffed Percy.
06:45But not as wonderful as helping a friend, said Thomas.
06:49And they both happily agreed.
