00:00I'm kind of new, so I'll stick with you. I like new places, seeing lots of new faces. And before this day's through, we'll make good friends like you.
00:20Three puppy, four puppy, five puppy, six. Clippin' it up to brand new days.
00:25I might be small, but I'm on the ball. I might be little, I might get stuck in the middle.
00:35But there's one thing we know, love makes little things grow. Yeah, love makes little things grow.
00:51A promise is a promise.
01:00Well, hello there, little snail. Wow, what a beautiful butterfly you are. And such a giant ladybug. A giant ladybug!
01:12A giant ladybug!
01:14Hi, Ednorville.
01:16It knows my name!
01:19There's my new helmet. Thanks for guarding it for me, Clifford.
01:29Evan, wanna see all my new skateboard equipment?
01:32Sure.
01:38Hey there, little red.
01:40Hi, Ednorville. I'm sorry I scared you with the ladybug helmet.
01:44Scared? Are you kidding me? I knew it was you all the time.
01:48Hey, you know, Emily Elizabeth got her first skateboard today with a helmet and knee pads and elbow pads and...
01:54Oh, that's her new skateboard under the bench. I better take it to her right away.
01:59I got all this cool safety equipment and a new helmet and this great book called How to Skateboard.
02:06It probably can't teach me as much about skateboarding as you could, but it's a start.
02:11Wow, this stuff is great, Emily Elizabeth. But where's your board?
02:15My board? Oh, right there.
02:18Hey, looking good, Clifford.
02:21He's better than I am. I haven't even gotten on it yet.
02:25You know, the first time you do get on your skateboard is really important. You wanna do it right.
02:30I sure do.
02:31Hey, Emily Elizabeth, would you like me to teach you?
02:34Really? Would you do that?
02:37Sure. I can't today because I'm meeting some friends to play basketball, but how about tomorrow after school?
02:42That would be great!
02:44We can meet here, then we can go to the park where there's lots of room.
02:47Okay, I'll meet you right here.
02:49Deal.
02:51Now remember, your first time on the board is really important, so don't start without me.
02:56Oh, I won't. I promise.
02:58Wow, having is so cool.
03:04Oh, Clifford, I've been thinking about skateboarding all day.
03:08Evan will be here really soon to teach me how to be the best skateboarder ever.
03:12Don't worry, Clifford. I'm sure Evan will be here any minute now. He promised.
03:43Oh, Evan, where are you?
03:46Where are you?
03:54Hiya, Norval.
03:56A giant beetle?
03:57No, it's just me, Norval.
03:59Of course it is like that.
04:02Hey, what's up, Buck? You look kind of sad.
04:04Well, Evan promised to give Emily Elizabeth a skateboarding lesson today, but he isn't here, and now Emily Elizabeth is really disappointed.
04:11Oh, well, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I just saw Evan playing basketball over at the park.
04:17You did?
04:20Hey, Clifford, how's it going, Emily Elizabeth?
04:25Emily Elizabeth!
04:27Oh, wow, I totally forgot that we had plans.
04:31You did?
04:32Well, yes, but Bill Mazer asked me to play basketball with him today after school.
04:38He's captain of the school's team, and he's never asked me to play before.
04:41I guess I thought it was so cool that he asked me that I, um, forgot about our plans. I'm sorry.
04:48That's okay. I guess I can just practice skateboarding by myself.
04:53No. I'm going to teach you. I promise. Tomorrow for sure. All right?
04:58All right.
04:59All right. Meet me here tomorrow after school, and we'll go to the park. Okay?
05:03Okay.
05:08Wow! Look at all the great tricks you can do on a skateboard!
05:12It's a blast, Emily Elizabeth! Watch this!
05:23Oh, that is so cool, Evan! Can you teach me to do some of those tricks?
05:27Sure, but first you have to get the basics down, and that takes time, patience, and lots of practice.
05:35I'm ready!
05:37We'll start slowly, just cruising down the sidewalk with all four wheels on the ground.
05:42Oh, now this is more like it, pup! Everyone looks happy today!
05:48Oh, Emily Elizabeth!
05:49Don't worry. I've got you.
05:54Thanks, Evan. That was close.
05:57Today's a great day, Norval.
05:59Emily Elizabeth's first skateboarding lesson with Evan is going really well.
06:04You're doing great. Keep on going. You can do it.
06:10Hey, Evan! Evan Taylor!
06:12Hold on, Emily Elizabeth. Someone's calling me.
06:15Evan, over here!
06:16Hey, Bill! It's Bill. Bill Mazer.
06:19I sure could use another good player on my team today.
06:22Wow! Did you hear that, Emily Elizabeth? He called me a good player!
06:26Uh-oh. This is not good.
06:29Don't worry, Norval. Evan wouldn't leave Emily Elizabeth right in the middle of their skateboarding lesson.
06:34I hope you're right, little red.
06:36So, Evan, how about it? Are you ready to shoot some hoops?
06:39Definitely. I'll be right there.
06:41What?
06:47Oh, it's okay with you, isn't it, Emily Elizabeth?
06:49I mean, you're a good player.
06:52Oh, it's okay with you, isn't it, Emily Elizabeth?
06:55I mean, you and Clifford can watch us play.
06:58It'll be fun. Bill's such an amazing player.
07:00Well, uh, I guess.
07:03Great. We'll do some more skateboarding tomorrow. I promise.
07:08Hey, I didn't know you could skateboard.
07:10Sure. I love it.
07:12I've never tried. Maybe you can show me how to do it sometime.
07:14Uh, sure. Anytime.
07:21I guess I'll have to wait to learn how to skateboard, Clifford.
07:24Evan's too busy to teach me today.
07:28Hey, I don't need to wait for Evan. I can teach myself how to skateboard.
07:33The ollie is a basic jump performed by tapping the tail of the skateboard on the ground.
07:38Push off slowly with your front foot in the middle of the board and your back foot on the tail.
07:43Bend your knees a little and then kick your back foot down.
07:47Okay, Clifford, you heard what the book said.
07:51Front foot in the middle of the board, back foot on the tail, bend your knees.
07:59I'm going to try the ollie now, Clifford!
08:02Here I go!
08:09I'm okay, Clifford. Like it says in the book, every skater needs to work hard and learn the basics.
08:16Falling is just part of learning.
08:18And I have a feeling I'm going to be learning a lot.
08:22I think I'll practice that ollie again.
08:28Clifford! Beep, beep!
08:30Hey, wait up! Wait!
08:37I'm sorry I surprised you. Are you okay?
08:40Oh, I'm fine. It's just part of learning to skateboard, you know.
08:44You should have stayed and watched our basketball game, Emily Elizabeth. It was great!
08:48I'm glad you had fun, Evan, but I really wanted to practice my skateboarding.
08:52Hey, what about our lesson? I thought I was going to teach you how to skateboard.
08:56I thought so too!
08:58Uh, are you mad at me?
09:00You promised to teach me how to skateboard, Evan.
09:02But every time Bill comes along, you go and play basketball with him instead.
09:06And, well, it really hurts my feelings.
09:10Wow. I'm really sorry, Emily Elizabeth. I guess I got kind of carried away.
09:15I mean, Bill Mazer is so cool!
09:18Well, I think you're so cool, Evan!
09:20You do?
09:22Sure!
09:25You know, I guess everyone looks up to somebody.
09:28Just never thought that somebody would be me.
09:30Okay, I promised to skateboard with you, and it wasn't right for me to change plans like that.
09:35Even for Bill Mazer. I'm really sorry.
09:38All right?
09:44Now, how about I show you a few pointers on your board?
09:47Sounds great!
09:50Looks like Evan's teaching Emily Elizabeth how to skateboard after all!
09:54Well, of course he is! He promised!
09:58Oh no! Here comes trouble!
10:02Hey, come on, pup, let's go check it out.
10:04Hey, Evan, how about showing me how to do that skateboarding thing you do so well?
10:07Sure! I'd love to!
10:10Some other time.
10:12Right now, I'm teaching my friend Emily Elizabeth.
10:14Oh, that's cool.
10:16Well, we could learn together.
10:18Are you sure?
10:20Sure! I don't like falling down all by myself, you know.
10:24Well, all right then!
10:28Everyone on board!
10:31Here we go!
10:35Keep going! You're doing great, guys!
10:54Clifford! Where are you, boy?
10:58Wanna read a story, Clifford?
11:00Okay, pick one out.
11:05Merci, Clifford!
11:10L'histoire d'aujourd'hui est Speckle and the Surprising Story.
11:14Speckle and his friends were gathered around listening to Speckle tell a brand new story.
11:19It was about brave explorers searching for buried treasure,
11:23but just as Speckle reached the most exciting part of the story,
11:26he said it was Ravi's turn to tell what happened next.
11:29Ravi thought for a moment,
11:31then said the explorers found a mysterious blue door.
11:34What was behind it?
11:36Reba said the door opened to a secret tunnel that led to the very top of a tall mountain,
11:43where they went sliding on a supercharged sled all the way down to...
11:48a circus, said Darnell.
11:50As the day went on, Speckle, Ravi, Reba, Luna and Darnell
11:54all took turns creating a truly surprising story,
11:58which was so much fun because the whole gang created it together!
12:03The End
12:06I love reading stories together!
12:09You know, Clifford, for such a small dog, you sure are a big reader!
12:23Share and share alike!
12:28OK, this is really exciting and we need everybody's help.
12:31The community center which my mom runs is collecting books for their library.
12:36Yes, Shun?
12:37What kind of books?
12:39The community center is looking for books on any subject.
12:42Now, whoever collects the most books by Monday will receive
12:45this full 12-volume set of my favorite books, the Sarasalva Mysteries!
12:52I love those!
12:53They're my favorite, too!
12:56You can collect books by yourself or work in teams,
12:58but be sure and take a grown-up with you.
13:02Oh, and one last thing.
13:03The books should be either new or gently used.
13:08Nina, what does it mean, gently used?
13:11Well, you know, books that have been read but are still in good shape?
13:21I'm thinking that Jorge's toy is not gently used.
13:25Exact!
13:26OK, team, now, we have a map of the neighborhood
13:29and all the places we can go to collect books.
13:31I have a wagon we can use.
13:33And my dad said he'd go with us.
13:35Oh, that's great!
13:36We can start by asking people in our apartment building for books,
13:39and then we can go all around the neighborhood.
13:41Wow, Nina, this map is terrific!
13:43I'll bet we'll get a lot of books.
13:45Maybe we'll even collect the most books.
13:48Oh, I hope so.
13:49I really want to win that collection of Sarasalva Mysteries.
13:52But come on, let's put these flyers up around the building.
13:55That way, everybody will know we're going to be collecting books tomorrow morning.
14:00Oh, I'm sorry, you guys, I can't go with you today.
14:03I woke up with a really terrible cold.
14:08And my mom says I should stay home and rest.
14:11Oh, I'm sorry you're not feeling well, Nina.
14:14Oh, me too, I really wanted to go with you guys.
14:17But since I can't, here's a small copy of the map.
15:12Merci.
18:03Flow and Zo in the Snow!
18:44Merci, M. Solomon.
18:46De rien et bonne chance.
18:49Regarde, c'est tous vos vieux livres ABC.
18:52Merci, Vanessa.
18:54Merci.
18:55Tie-dyeing without trying.
18:57The library can have a whole tie-dyeing section.
19:00Here you are soon.
19:02Wow, look at these, Emily Elizabeth.
19:05Puppies, rabbits, turtles.
19:08There's even one on seahorses.
19:10I'll be checking that out in the library myself.
19:13Thanks.
19:14And here's something for your little helpers.
19:18Oh, no. Look, it's starting to rain.
19:21All of our books are going to get wet and ruined.
19:26Great thinking, guys.
19:28We can use the umbrella that Nina packed for us.
19:32150, 151, 152 books.
19:38Wow, do you think we'll win the lottery?
19:41I hope so.

20:46Et l'ombrelle.
20:48Tu sais, tu as raison.
