00:00Hello and welcome to another edition of 5 things to do and with many on a half-term
00:09break you'll need some inspiration more than ever I should think. Let's pray for some decent
00:14weather too because some of these are outdoors like Chorley's picnic in the park on Sunday
00:182nd June. Park goers will be able to enjoy their picnics with live entertainment and
00:22things to do for all the family. It's a free event with some small fees charged for some
00:26of the activities.
00:29Back in Blackburn next as Cloudbusting, the longest running and most applauded live tribute
00:33to the music of Kate Bush, arrives at King George's Hall. Featuring songs from the legendary
00:38short film The Line, The Cross and The Curve, which Kate Bush released in 1994, this spectacular
00:44new show offers audiences a fresh take on those tracks that first appeared on the Red
00:48Shoes album, all delivered with breathtaking vocals from Mandy Watson and superb musicianship
00:53from the live band. That's on Wednesday 29th May and tickets are £26.50.
00:59To Burnley next and a very different type of music altogether, courtesy of Rum Ragged
01:03who take a bold approach to the distinct folk music of their home, the eastern Canadian
01:08island of Newfoundland. With a reverence for their roots and creative contemporary edge,
01:13this young band has quickly become known as one of the finest performers of their great
01:16living musical tradition. A combination of striking vocal harmonies, staggering musicianship
01:22and captivating storytelling gives concert goers an experience they won't soon forget.
01:26They're at the Mechanics Theatre in Burnley on Wednesday 29th and tickets are £12 a go.
01:33Up to Lancaster next where Cantina are putting on their family fiesta with a range of events
01:37to keep everyone amused in half term. On Thursday 30th there's Swifty Taylor, a tribute to Taylor
01:42Swift. On Friday 31st there's Nerf Wars for all you little soldiers and on Saturday 1st
01:48June there's Twisted Circus, live performances and workshops by the Sequin Circus team.
01:54A range of prizes for each of those but check out cantina.co.uk for details and that's
01:59Cantina with a K. Lastly, to Blackpool for some fearsome fun
02:03with dinosaurs, the Jurassic Live World Tour arrives at the Grand Theatre from 30th May
02:08to 1st June. See life-sized monstrous beasts close up in this award-winning spectacular.
02:14Exclusively featuring the world's only mosasaur, the world's last flying pterodactyl and more
02:19dinosaur species than any other show on earth, Jurassic Live is the UK's most interactive
02:23theatre show where audiences become part of a dinosaur adventure. Tickets for that one
02:28are £17.50. And if that doesn't keep your little monsters
02:32quiet I don't know what will. Join me next time for another 5 things to do but in the
02:36meantime take care and have a great week.
