00:06 Hello, we're back with another edition of Five Things to Do, and this week we're marching
00:09 into March in somewhat considerable style, and as if that's not magic enough, how about
00:14 the greatest magician in an evening of wonders at Burnley Mechanics Theatre?
00:18 Following a completely sell-out run in 2022, James Phelan, the magician most infamous for
00:22 jamming the BBC switchboard after correctly predicting the lottery, presents an all-new
00:27 show. This dazzling five-star rated magic show will leave you aching with laughter and
00:32 dizzy in disbelief. Catch it on Tuesday 27th February for £18 a ticket.
00:39 And staying with that sort of magic theme, we have Houdini's Great Escape at the Duke's
00:43 Theatre in Lancaster. This is a hilarious 39-steps-esque thriller, featuring physical
00:49 comedy, sparkling wit and just a touch of chaos. A hard-working cast of four, playing
00:54 multiple roles, will have you laughing and gasping throughout at the magic of theatre
00:58 and the real magic of illusions. There's three shows, one on Wednesday 28th February and
01:04 two on Thursday 29th, and tickets are £21.
01:10 Now fans of Radio 4 comedy will be excited to hear that I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue comes
01:14 to the Blackpool Grand Theatre on Wednesday 28th February. Join host Jack Dee and the
01:20 star-studded cast of comedians for an unmissable evening of inspired nonsense. Colin Sell provides
01:25 piano accompaniment. I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue has been delighting fans for over 50
01:30 years, with four players being given silly things to do by the chairman. Tickets for
01:34 that one are £34 each.
01:37 More comedy next, this time at the Chorley Theatre, where John Courtney brings his brand
01:41 new show for 2024. The winner of ITV's Britain's Got Talent is back with a show jam-packed
01:46 with the very best in music, comedy and entertainment, following a hugely successful season at the
01:51 Edinburgh Festival. As well as John's trademark brand of musical comedy with all new material,
01:56 the show will also feature an updated version of his hilarious one-man musical. That's on
02:00 Sunday 3rd March and tickets are £17.50.
02:06 Lastly we're back to Blackpool for the ultimate tribute to Little Mix. The Little Fix are
02:10 at the Beaver show bar on Saturday 2nd March, cranking up the girl power with an explosive
02:15 performance. Whether you're a Salute superfan or a Glory Days groove master, this party's
02:19 for you. It's on Saturday 2nd March at 7pm and there's a family-friendly afternoon show
02:24 too. Tickets are £16.95.
02:29 Don't know about Little Mix, but that was a big mix of stuff to keep you all entertained.
02:32 Join me next week for another 5 things to do, but in the meantime, have a fabulous week,
02:36 take care and I'll see you next time.
