00:00Hi there. A chilly night to come in many places, even a touch of frost here and there under
00:06lengthy clear spells, although it won't be clear everywhere. Variable amounts of cloud
00:10will continue to float around and the cloud will also thicken in many places. We'll see
00:15some showers arriving into the north-east of Scotland along with a stiff northerly breeze.
00:20Elsewhere, areas of cloud forming across Northern Ireland and then into parts of north-west
00:25England, Wales and later central parts of England, again with some showers associated
00:30with it. Elsewhere, with clear spells and with lighter winds, for example central and
00:36western Scotland, parts of northern and central England at times, well it will be a chilly
00:41start to Thursday with temperatures in urban areas 4 to 5 Celsius and in sheltered rural
00:48spots down near freezing. So a touch of frost, gardeners beware, but actually, well we've
00:54got the frost, we've also got the brightest skies and some decent sunshine to come for
00:58central and western Scotland, north-west England, parts of England and Wales and Northern Ireland
01:03also seeing some bright spells, but in general we're going to see the cloud thickening through
01:09the day and a greater chance of showers occurring compared with Wednesday. Those showers most
01:15especially affecting central and southern areas as well as the east, but they could
01:21pop off anywhere and in between the showers there will still be some bright spells, but
01:27again it's going to be a cool day, particularly down that North Sea coast, 8 to 10 Celsius
01:32with a fresh breeze. Further west, lighter winds, some sunshine, a bit more pleasant,
01:3714, perhaps 15 Celsius towards south Wales and the south-west. The showers will continue
01:43into the evening, particularly through the central and southern areas. Increasingly though,
01:47the cloud will thin and break and where we've got lengthy clear spells overnight into Friday
01:52morning, especially through northern and eastern England for example, parts of western Scotland
01:57we're going to see a widespread frost, an even colder night expected in places with
02:02temperatures in shelter spots, for example eastern England down to minus 1, minus 2,
02:06even minus 3 Celsius. Towards the south and south-west, a little bit less cold because
02:13here we've got a thicker cloud to begin things on Friday, even a touch of rain and drizzle
02:17in places, but bright skies for many on Friday morning, some decent sunshine first thing.
02:23Again the cloud will build and it will tend to fill in by the afternoon with further showers,
02:28particularly towards the east, but one or two showers in Northern Ireland, Wales and
02:32increasingly the south-west by the end of the afternoon as well. 13 Celsius in the south-west,
02:39I think again 8 to 10 degrees along that North Sea coast, 7 for the likes of Aberdeen.
02:46Now the rain towards the south-west that is gathering through Friday afternoon is going
02:50to become an increasing feature of our weather by the weekend. Low pressure now replacing
02:57high pressure and that low pressure slowly moving up from the south to bring spells of
03:01rain or showers across southern parts of the country on Saturday and into Sunday, but for
03:08Scotland and Northern Ireland mostly avoiding the longer spells of rain and keeping the
03:13showers. Here for example are the 24-hour rainfall totals on Saturday and you can see
03:18that north-south divide with much of central and southern England, south Wales seeing some
03:23longer spells of wet weather on Saturday, whilst further north it's bits and pieces
03:28of showers but in between some brighter spells. We'll keep you updated on all the comings
03:34and goings as far as the weather is concerned and you can catch those updates on our YouTube
03:37channel. Bye-bye.
