00:00 Hello again. It's going to be another chilly night for many of us, a touch of frost in
00:04 some places and the cool feel, especially for the time of year, will continue into Friday.
00:10 At the moment we are under the influence of low pressure just out of the North Sea. That's
00:15 brought quite a few showers as we've been through Thursday and we will see some further
00:19 showery rain continuing, particularly across southern parts through this evening and overnight.
00:23 A few showers perhaps across northern and eastern coastal parts, but across northern
00:28 parts of England, Wales, into Scotland and Northern Ireland there will also be some clear
00:32 skies at times. These clear skies combined with some cold air we have across us at the
00:37 moment and light winds are the perfect ingredients for temperatures to take quite a dip. So most
00:42 towns and cities holding up just a bit above freezing, but in some prone rural spots we
00:47 could get as low as -3, -4 Celsius, so some frost quite likely, although towards the far
00:52 south where we cling on to a bit more cloud it is going to be a milder start on Friday
00:56 here. In the south there will be some showery rain
00:59 first thing, particularly across parts of Cornwall. Some of that could be heavy and
01:02 that will feed into Devon as we go through the day. Elsewhere showers across northern
01:06 and eastern parts becoming more widespread, so a greater chance of most places seeing
01:10 a shower as we go into the afternoon. Also in the afternoon across parts of the south
01:15 west this showery rain is going to turn pretty heavy at times, could cause some difficult
01:20 driving conditions, so do take care if you are heading out on the roads later on Friday.
01:25 There will be some sunny spells around and in the sunshine it's not going to feel too
01:29 bad, the sun's got some decent strength behind it at this time of year, but temperatures
01:33 are on the low side for the time of year. Highs of around 8 or 9 Celsius across northern
01:38 parts, 12 to 13, possibly 14 Celsius further south.
01:42 Some more showers to come as we go through the evening. Further south across parts of
01:47 southern England and Wales it's going to stay pretty cloudy overnight. Further showery rain
01:52 at times could be a little bit heavy for some. Across northern areas though a drier picture,
01:56 still some showers dotted around, but on the whole a mostly dry night and clearer skies.
02:02 And where we get the clear skies in the north and the cloud in the south that really tells
02:06 the story as to our temperatures in as much as the clearer skies again allowing for temperatures
02:11 to drop. So once more quite a bit of frost around in rural spots in particular on Saturday
02:16 morning but a milder start again in the south and across central parts it's going to be
02:21 quite a bit milder than on Friday morning perhaps.
02:24 As we go through Saturday itself then still some outbreaks of rain across parts of England
02:28 and Wales edging a little bit further northwards. The odd heavier one perhaps but shouldn't
02:32 cause too many issues. Showers also for northern western parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland.
02:37 Further east likely to stay largely dry with some decent bright or sunny spells. On the
02:42 whole yes most of us will see a bit of rain at times on Saturday but it doesn't look like
02:46 it will be too much of a washout and temperatures will be starting to climb just a little bit.
02:51 Greater chance of getting into double figures across northern parts compared to Thursday
02:55 and Friday.
02:56 As we look towards Sunday and this is when we could see some impactful weather. An area
03:01 of low pressure feeding up from the south is set to bring some heavy persistent rain
03:05 across eastern and southeastern parts for a time. A bit of uncertainty as to exactly
03:09 where that rain is going to track. It could push a little bit further westwards but at
03:13 the moment there are signs that across western areas Sunday actually looks like it will stay
03:17 largely dry. Just watch out for that heavy rain then across parts of the east.
03:22 That's it for me. If you want more information about what we can expect as we go through
03:26 this weekend do head to our YouTube channel. I'll see you later.
