00:00 Hi there, the weather during the next few days wouldn't be out of place in April.
00:04 It's going to be cool, it's going to be showery, but there will be some brighter spells interspersed
00:09 between the downpours.
00:11 Low pressure over Scandinavia driving northerly winds and this a smaller low that brought
00:15 some strong winds to East Anglia earlier and a band of rain.
00:19 But that rain is now pushing into the continent and we've got behind a lot of cloud cover,
00:24 frequent showers, especially for Scotland, Northern and Eastern England, parts of Northern
00:29 Ireland as well.
00:30 One or two heavy downpours perhaps somewhere between the Peak District and East Anglia,
00:34 the old rumble of thunder.
00:35 But towards the south-west, that's where it's going to be driest and there will be some
00:40 sunshine coming through in the sunshine in the south-west up to 19 or 20 Celsius.
00:45 So feeling pleasant enough, watch out for the high UV levels as well.
00:49 But where we've got that wind from the north, particularly for the north and the east, 13
00:53 or 14 Celsius, making it feel much cooler than you'd expect in June.
00:59 Now through the evening the showers will continue for a time and there's always the chance that
01:04 some places will see showers after dark.
01:07 But for many, those showers will fade back to the coasts and we'll see lengthy clear
01:12 spells developing, particularly towards the south and west.
01:15 And where we've got those clear spells, temperatures dipping to the mid-single figures, perhaps
01:20 a touch lower in some of the most sheltered spots.
01:23 So always a possibility of a grass frost first thing Tuesday, certainly a chill in the air
01:28 but actually plenty of bright weather as well.
01:30 Blue skies for southern and central parts but quite quickly through the morning the
01:34 cloud will build and again showers will develop.
01:37 Just about anywhere, once more, could see a shower but the most frequent downpours will
01:41 be across northern and central England into east Anglia.
01:45 Now temperatures will be a little lower compared with Monday.
01:49 Somewhere like Newcastle could see just 12 Celsius but where we've got the brightest
01:54 spells, towards the south and the west and it's going to be mostly dry here as well.
01:59 16, 17, 18 Celsius, not feeling too chilly out of the wind in the sunshine but that's
02:06 key really because this northerly airflow is much cooler than you'd normally see in
02:13 June for example.
02:14 Overnight we'll see lengthy clear spells once again and then into Wednesday the winds ease,
02:19 higher pressure builds and it's a fine day but further rain and showers will end the
02:24 week.
