00:00Former Health Minister Kairi Jamaluddin says the master's programs offered by local universities

00:12Kairi said many universities which offer such programs have also acknowledged that it should
00:17not be the only route for training specialists.
00:30He said this is why the government has established the parallel pathway program
00:48to ensure there are enough specialists to meet the demand.
00:51The Malaysian Medical Council is embroiled in a dispute with parallel pathway specialists
00:56and medical genetics graduates over recognizing their qualifications for inclusion under the
01:02National Specialists Register. Kairi said it is important for the matter to be brought to
01:07the cabinet for immediate discussion to address the training of specialists.
