00:00 Hi, my name's Katrina. I'm the Lead Officer for Arts at Wigan Council.
00:04 I'm in the brand new exhibition space here at Leigh Town Hall that we've opened specially to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Wigan Borough.
00:12 We've been working with Wigan and Leigh College students and their photography departments to go into the archives to look back at 50 years worth of photography that's in our collections.
00:23 The students have done a brilliant job in going into the archives and showcasing some of the wonderful memories that we have across the borough.
00:31 Really showing what it means to be part of this borough, the personalities, the fashion, the industry and everything that just makes us who we are.
00:40 The exhibition opens this evening and we're open until the 28th of September, Thursdays to Saturdays.
00:46 So if you're amazed, come on down and take a look. We've got lots to see in the exhibition including oral histories, old newspapers and the wonderful photography that's here.
