00:00My name's Joe Candy Whitmore. I've been producing and curating on this project.
00:04We're here at the Walled Gardens in Hay Hall. It's going to be on for the next few weeks.
00:08There's 12 large A0 photos and then we've got 15 smaller mixed size pictures all taken by the group
00:17and yeah it's been really well received so far. After here we're going to go to Spinner's Million
00:21Lea for a couple of weeks and then we're hoping to tour it around the borough in other outdoor
00:26spaces so it's really exciting and everyone's made up with it. I'm Stacey and I'm part of the
00:32rehab programme in Lea in Kennedy House. We've took on this project of pictures so when you're
00:39in addiction you're straight focused, you're facing the ground, you're not noticing any of
00:43the environment around you. Coming out of addiction you start noticing the trees, the flowers, the
00:50noises, the smells, it's getting all your senses back. So going into detail, getting the pictures
00:56of the surrounding, you're focusing so it's very mindful and it's helped me a lot in this process.
01:02I'm Sam Batley. I've been a photographer on this project working with We Are With You.
01:10We've been doing monthly photography sessions now for the past six months,
01:15touching on a variety of different mediums and exploring the benefit of photography and
01:21connecting people to place, using some recovery values in a creative setting and letting people
01:29share the story, creating opportunities for mindfulness, showing different photographic
01:38techniques, different methods and really just using it as a tool that combined and
01:45create community, bond an existing community. It's not often about just the photo itself,
01:53it's about everything that happens in between, walking together, having conversations together,
01:59getting to know each other a little bit better.
