00:00 Hello there, welcome to your Thursday morning weather update from the Met Office.
00:04 If you want a nice sunrise this morning, it's really the west where we're seeing clearer skies, it's rather chilly.
00:09 Now further east, an onshore breeze, breeze coming in from the south east, flowing over a cold North Sea,
00:15 will keep temperatures rather depressed and also more in the way of cloud.
00:19 High pressure always centred across Scandinavia through the next 48 hours.
00:23 Now through this morning you can see where the sunshine is, western Scotland.
00:27 A few showers running in across Shetland as well as Orkney,
00:30 and that cloud is stubborn across central and eastern areas of Scotland.
00:33 Now for Northern Ireland, you'll see the cloud break at times, particularly places such as Antrim.
00:38 The Isle of Man seeing more cloud from time to time,
00:40 North West England also seeing some cloud breaks,
00:43 and some brighter weather across the Irish Sea coast down towards the West Country, central southern England.
00:47 But notice further east, you could run into some fog across central and eastern areas of England through this morning,
00:54 and that cloud will be low over Pennines as well.
00:57 Some showery bursts just hanging around the far south east of England.
01:00 In fact through the day we will see showers develop by around mid to late morning
01:05 across central and southern parts of England and Wales.
01:09 Now towards the north west of Scotland, you'll fare well through today with some sunshine,
01:14 and the sun will come out from time to time across Northern Ireland,
01:17 West Wales as well seeing that bright weather.
01:19 But notice these showers slowly moving their way northwards as well as westwards,
01:24 developing across Northern England through the afternoon,
01:26 mostly scattered but through the latter part of the day, they could turn a bit heavier further south.
01:31 And quite a breeze down towards the West Country, western parts of Scotland,
01:35 also seeing a keen breeze far north and north east.
01:38 Along this east coast feeling cold, particularly with the wind 8 or 9 degrees Celsius,
01:43 but inland we could see a 12 or 13.
01:45 Now through this evening and overnight, these showers will continue their passage northwards and westwards.
01:51 Notice across the North Sea, that's a lot of cloud there,
01:55 and some showery bursts gathering and pushing across central and eastern areas of Scotland.
01:59 The air is cold, we could see a little bit of wintryness over the higher ground as we head into Friday morning.
02:05 Temperatures then dipping down to around 2, 3, 4 degrees Celsius.
02:09 Particularly across more southern areas in shelter,
02:11 you could see a patchy frost to start the day on Friday and even the odd fog patch.
02:16 The wind though mixing the air up through Friday and it could turn rather gusty,
02:20 particularly over the higher ground.
02:22 But we will see some brighter skies emerging across central and eastern areas of England
02:25 towards Wales through the day.
02:27 At the same time, these showery bursts continue to push towards more northern areas of Scotland.
02:32 But in shelter across western Scotland, yet again you'll see some brighter weather.
02:36 Temperatures struggling generally, we'll see double digits down towards the south.
02:40 Wherever you are, take care, have a good 24 hours and I'll see you again soon.
