01:14 You won that one.

01:15 So congratulations.

01:17 - It's one of my few good weekends.

01:18 - Yeah, seriously.

01:19 Taylor, smoke me this weekend.

01:21 So the Chiefs come in off of that win.

01:24 And then the Ravens come in after, you know, pretty much blowing doors against the Houston

01:30 Texans.

01:31 Texans kept it close in the first half, 10-10 going into the second half.

01:34 And then the Ravens kind of blew them out of the water.

01:36 Lamar Jackson set.

01:38 Yep, Lamar Jackson.

01:39 Taylor, good pick again.

01:41 I was on Houston.

01:42 Taylor was on Baltimore.

01:43 And so Lamar Jackson coming into his first ever AFC championship game, Patrick Rahomes

01:48 in his sixth straight.

01:49 So one of the, yeah, it's insane.

01:52 It's completely insane.

01:54 For both parties, that this is Lamar's first is also pretty wild.

01:58 Yeah, it is.

01:58 And so good game.

02:01 Sunday, three o'clock Eastern time kickoff.

02:03 Taylor, what do you make of the matchup?

02:04 Who do you think wins it?

02:05 - I said last week that I don't want to bet against my homes in the playoffs.

02:11 And usually I don't.

02:13 But it's just the Ravens are so much more balanced.

02:17 Like they're also historic.

02:18 Like I saw some stat that was like, they're the only team other than the 2007 Patriots

02:22 to have a plus 100 point differential against playoff teams.

02:26 Like they are a legitimate juggernaut in the chiefs.

02:30 On the other hand, another great defense like the Ravens, not to the same caliber,

02:34 but they're a really good defense.

02:36 And then obviously they have Patrick Mahomes and the receivers have been playing better

02:39 and they have a good run game and Isaiah Pacheco.

02:41 But I mean, Ravens are loaded, like I said.

02:45 So I think that the obviously like given the spread, their chiefs are going to keep this

02:50 one close, but I could see the Ravens kind of like, not like we saw against the Texans

02:56 where it's close and then just they completely blow the doors off.

02:59 But I think it could be when we're in the fourth quarter, we see them pull away.

03:02 Maybe get something like, oh, I want to say like a, like a, like a, like a 710 ish point

03:09 lead, which it's Mahomes.

03:11 Like it's, it's not a fun gamble to make.

03:13 Like I, I, that's crazy to say, but I just have a lot of respect.

03:18 What do you got?

03:19 - All right, Ravens win.

03:20 Ravens win.

03:21 I think that, I think they win by more than three and a half.

03:25 - Okay.

03:25 And over under 44 and a half, 44 and a half.

03:29 - Over, just because I think like these quarterbacks, man, the whole thing that I'm worried about

03:34 is I don't know how you hold either one of them down for the entire game or even for

03:38 most of the game.

03:39 So I do think it's going to be over, but I think that the Ravens are just going to find

03:43 a way to kind of bury them at some point in the fourth quarter.

03:46 We're like the last position that they're trying to kill clock.

03:48 They're not even trying to come back.

03:49 - Totally with you on the total.

03:51 I do think it goes over 44 and a half.

03:53 Tough to bet against, like you said, these two, these two quarterbacks to not score points.

03:57 Especially you see, you know, Mahomes Chiefs have their mojo back you know, with their

04:02 obviously Kelsey scores two touchdowns and the receivers have done much better.

04:05 And because of that, I'm going to take the Chiefs plus three and a half.

04:09 I think they went out right.

04:10 I think they go to the Superbowl once again.

04:13 I love Pat Mahomes.

04:14 I've, I've, I've tweeted about it.

04:15 I've talked about it.

04:16 Mahomes is like, in my opinion, already one of the top two greatest quarterbacks of all

04:21 I know he's young, but again, six championship games, two Superbowl potentially going on

04:25 a third here.

04:26 He's, he's dominant.

04:27 He plays, he plays clutch football.

04:29 He's incredible.

04:30 And I bet against him last week, like you said, and I took Buffalo and I was dead wrong.

04:34 I was proven wrong.

04:35 I can't bet against Mahomes again.

04:37 So I think they go back to the Superbowl.

04:39 Uh, Kansas City does.

04:40 And it's crazy because it's six straight, but that's his entire starting career.

04:44 Exactly. He's only ever been in the AFC championship game, which is absolutely like, that is the

04:50 kind of caliber of like a Tom Brady where it just consistently, like you're either in

04:54 the Superbowl or you just missed, which is just better than, I mean, you know, obviously

04:58 Brady took a couple of seasons, but yeah.

05:00 I mean, if you're talking about early on in a career, like if you want first dynasty,

05:04 Brady, Patrick Mahomes is off to a way hotter start and they both had that one year of sitting.

05:08 So the only argument really not argument, but you know, when people get upset and they,

05:13 you know, they try and defend the wall with Brady and the pats.

05:15 And I mean, I've always been one of them.

05:16 Look at my background, look at my hat.

05:18 Like I'm a Patriots guy, but like the only, you know, argument against Mahomes is the

05:22 longevity.

05:23 Like, it's not like he hasn't done X, Y, or Z.

05:25 He just really hasn't done it long enough because he's only been in the league for six

05:28 years, but six straight championships, you can't argue it.

05:31 So, you know, one other thing I just thought of is kind of crazy.

05:34 I heard this on a podcast where they were talking about the value of like young quarterback

05:37 sitting and how many of like the great quarterbacks were guys that sat.

05:41 Yeah. Tom Brady didn't play the first season of his career.

05:43 Patrick Holmes didn't play the first season of his career.

05:46 Lamar Jackson didn't start playing until the end of his rookie season.

05:49 Between your talk, talk about the Patriots, maybe getting a rookie quarterback.

05:52 Like this is kind of, I'm literally coming off this, coming up with this off the dome,

05:55 but we talk about like Patriots, maybe getting a veteran quarterback as well.

05:59 Really might want to get somebody who can legitimately play some starting caliber football

06:04 just in case, because it's Jordan Love and other examples.

06:07 I was just going to say that the other example is the Packers system where, you know,

06:10 Favre goes to Rogers, Rogers goes to Love.

06:12 They sit those guys down a few years and, you know, and they still made the money and

06:16 we'll get back, we'll get onto the second game in a second.

06:17 But like they made the money work with Love too, because they signed them to that, you know,

06:21 one year extension instead of the option.

06:23 And, you know, they made it work and it obviously, obviously worked out for them.

06:26 So, yeah, you said it, Jackson did it, Mahomes did it.

06:30 Here they are in the AFC championship game.

06:32 So we're both on the over 44 and a half.

06:34 I'm taking Chiefs plus three and a half, Taylors on Ravens minus three and a half.

06:38 So let's move on to the NFC championship game, a 630 kickoff in San Francisco, Dan Campbell,

06:45 Jared Goff, the Detroit Lions going to the NFC championship game.

06:48 Crazy to say and think about when you think about, you know, three years ago when they traded,

06:52 traded Matthew Stafford away for Jared Goff, felt like a full rebuild.

06:56 And it has turned into this, like I said, an appearance in the NFC championship game

07:03 and a chance to go to the Super Bowl, taking on the one seated San Francisco 49ers.

07:07 The 49ers are seven point favorites at home and the total is 51 and a half.

07:13 So a touchdown in this one is the spread.

07:18 I'll let you pick first.

07:21 I think I know what side I want to go because I do think it's going to be relatively close,

07:26 but I look at, you know what, you go first and I'll give my thoughts.

07:29 What do you make of the game?

07:30 What do you make of the matchup?

07:31 Who wins it?

07:33 So again, like when you talk about the 49ers, I always want to make it about Brock Purdy

07:38 because you know, quarterbacking matters.

07:40 And obviously he had a good drive to close out the game, but the discourse has been super weird

07:46 where it's either like he's terrible and he had an awful game or he's great.

07:50 Like somebody compared him to Joe Montana.

07:51 And I'm like, geez Louise, like you want to talk about like, people are kind of debating

07:56 is the Pat Mahomes discourse with Brady.

07:57 Is that fair?

07:58 Like that's where Purdy, that's insane.

08:00 He had a good drive.

08:01 Yes.

08:02 In a big game.

08:02 But like, let's, let's be real.

08:03 I also think that they're playing a much more mature team in the lions.

08:08 Like you saw Jordan Love was on fire, but he also had some big mistakes, especially

08:12 have you seen the comparisons where it's the Jordan Love interception and the Brett Favre

08:15 interception in the NFC championship game?

08:17 Almost completely identical, except Jordan Love was worse because one defender came close

08:23 to being able to intercept it.

08:24 And somebody else actually did where like a receiver didn't even have a shot at it,

08:28 which is really, really funny.

08:30 Had like timeouts time and just made a terrible mistake.

08:33 I don't know if Jared Goff does that.

08:34 He's really in his bag.

08:35 And of course, you know, maybe he takes a step back, but I mean, then a reporter asked

08:41 a Jared Goff, they were like, yeah, you guys are really good offense or something.

08:44 He's like, yeah, thank you.

08:45 And they're like, yeah, but you're not like super powered like 49ers.

08:48 He's like, I take it back.

08:48 Did you see the thing, the other thing he said too, when they said, they asked him,

08:53 what'd you say?

08:55 The thing about Skip Bayless.

08:56 No, he said, uh, they, I, it might've been skip, but they said something about the lines,

09:01 you know, not being good or whatever.

09:02 And Goff was talking to me and he was like, yeah, you know, a lot of people, a lot of

09:06 people in this room, in fact, said that we wouldn't be here.

09:08 And I was like, damn, like he really claps back.

09:10 It was kind of hilarious.

09:12 I like this version of Jared Goff.

09:13 Like when he's comfortable, it was kind of sad watching him towards the end of his Rams

09:16 career.

09:17 Cause you could see, it's like kind of that Mack Jones thing where he was clearly kind

09:20 of down on himself and lost his confidence.

09:22 But he seemed like anything you ever hear about him said, he's a really cool, good

09:26 dude.

09:26 And it's really cool to see him kind of in his bag like this and all that.

09:30 So I am going to put my money on them because obviously the 49ers are a great team, but

09:35 so are the lions.

09:36 They're crazy.

09:37 Well-built the draft.

09:38 Everybody was kind of giving them crap for drafting a running back and a linebacker,

09:41 which are like the Cardinal sins in the first round and they go out and they kill it.

09:45 Then you got Brian branch as well.

09:47 A lot of young guys on that team doing a lot of really good stuff.

09:50 And then of course the veterans obviously doing their thing.

09:52 Frank Ragnow getting rolled up on, you thought he was going to be out for the game.

09:56 And he's not only did he come back in the game, he's playing this week.

09:59 That's just a really tough team.

10:01 And I think it's the perfect kind of the perfect kind of unit to go against the 49ers

10:06 who are all, you know, they are supercharged cause they just got a bunch of legitimate

10:10 like stars in terms of explosiveness and toughness.

10:14 But I think this lion's team can give them a run for their money.

10:16 So I'm putting my money on the lions.

10:17 I think they're going to win.

10:18 Give me the spread again.

10:19 Seven niners minus seven.

10:22 Oh yeah.

10:25 I'm taking the lions.

10:26 I'm taking that's kind of disrespectful if I'm being honest, like I get it,

10:30 but that's, that's kind of crazy.

10:32 And of course, like, you know, the lions have been playing at home and

10:35 different story this time, but yeah, I think I'm taking the points for sure.

10:39 So am I, I think the lions can win this one straight up.

10:42 Now I don't want to say easily, but like, I think there should be closer to like a three,

10:46 three, four points spread.

10:47 Like I understand San Francisco being favored.

10:49 They're the better team that the one seed there at home.

10:51 But the lions are playing great football and it's hard to bet against them.

10:55 You see what they do.

10:56 Even last week, I think I picked Tampa.

10:58 I don't know if you did too, but I thought Tampa could come in and win that one.

11:02 And even though they kept it close, the lions just stomped on their throat at the end and,

11:05 you know, made it happen and won the game.

11:07 And so I think I had the lions just because it was the same feeling.

11:09 I just think they're a tough team.

11:10 And I think, cause I was like, I like Baker and I did always feel where it's like,

11:14 I really liked their vibe and everything.

11:15 I just didn't think that they were good enough to make it deep into the playoffs.

11:18 So I like the lions, which is crazy lions, ravens, that'd be a fun super.

11:23 That would be a fun super bowl.

11:25 One, you obviously wouldn't have predicted before the season.

11:27 So I'm with you.

11:28 I like the lions.

11:29 And you know, you mentioned the game last week with San Francisco against green Bay,

11:33 like green Bay could have been, should have easily, easily won that game.

11:36 And Brock Hardy didn't play great.

11:38 And then he obviously puts together that drive at the end of the game and they win it.

11:41 And so it's hard to bet against them too.

11:43 Obviously they have talents all over the offense side of the ball.

11:46 It looks like Debo is making a push to play, but yeah, it is huge.

11:50 But again, I still, I like the lions.

11:52 It's hard to bet against Dan Campbell.

11:54 I love, you know, listening and watching those guys.

11:56 Like it's a vibes thing with them, but I just, I love that team.

11:59 And now they get to go on the road and, you know, prove otherwise.

12:02 So I'm taking the lions plus seven.

12:05 I also just realized I said it like the ravens are a lock, but if the chiefs go to the super

12:08 bowl, we will bookend the season with chiefs lions.

12:12 I just realized.

12:13 And then it was the whole thing where Kelsey didn't play.

12:15 And it's like, Oh, that would have made the difference.

12:17 Cause it came down to the wire.

12:18 So that would actually, I'm kind of rooting for that.

12:20 I haven't ever had that before.

12:22 I don't know.

12:22 But it's funny you mentioned that because when they did the, when they set the schedule

12:27 and it was like, uh, the obviously the chiefs on the super bowl.

12:31 So they play the opening game and everyone's like, why the hell are they playing the lions?

12:38 And now they could go with the freaking super bowl.

12:39 So I'm rooting for that now.

12:41 Honestly, that would be, I really wonder if that's ever happened where the first game

12:44 of the season is the same matchup as the last game.
