00:00 Sam Tooley is the Elders Custom and Livestock Manager at the Hereford Steer and Eero Steer
00:06 sale. It's just wrapped up here for day three of the Western District Wiener sales. Sam,
00:10 how did you see the sale play out? I think the sale went extremely well for expectations.
00:16 We were all stressing and panicking a couple of months ago, but now with rains Australia-wide,
00:24 hail has helped out massively. The cattle looked great and the price is probably reflected of it
00:29 too. About a thousand steers yarded, so cattle going to South Australia, New South Wales and
00:35 even a couple into Queensland. Yep, and Victoria locally as well, so pretty well covering most
00:41 states of all states. Beautiful, and prices, were they near expectations? Yeah, probably near or if
00:48 not exceeding expectations. It wasn't too much under that $3 mark. Most of your Hereford Steers
00:54 were in that $3.10 to $3.20 or $3.30. We had some really good Simi calves in today and they probably
01:03 would have been averaging that $3.20 as well. Yeah, great support by the trades, feedlotters
01:10 and backgrounders as well.
