00:00 We're here on the fourth day of the premium wiener sales at Wodonga, the second day of
00:07 the coloured European breeds with Tim Robinson, Paul and Skylar, nutrient optioneers from
00:14 Wodonga.
00:15 Tim, how did you see today's sale?
00:18 Today, Stephen, yeah, no, we've had a very successful day here in our coloured wiener
00:23 and grown cattle sale.
00:25 Very pleased with the outcome.
00:28 I think that it certainly met the expectations and by all reports was on par with yesterday's
00:34 market.
00:35 So I thought that that was positive and after that's all we can expect and hope for.
00:42 Yeah, no, it seemed quite interesting.
00:44 There seemed to be quite a bit of interest in the lead of the heifers with weight and
00:47 I thought that that was a particularly interesting point of note out of the sale.
00:51 Yeah, some of the heifers potentially might have made, without working it out yet, might
00:55 have made similar sort of sense of a kilo to their brothers and I think that was probably
00:59 a bit of a feature there.
01:01 But yeah, obviously it's a different market to that of the Angus cattle and yeah, it's
01:08 something that people consider and have got to reflect and talk about.
01:13 But the cattle here of those different breeds are a credit to the bloodlines that they're
01:19 from and also the producers who have committed to the Hereford, the Black Baldies and the
01:25 European and Shorthorn breeds that were represented here today and I think the quality was very
01:31 good.
01:32 And Tim, again, we saw a lot of interest from the northern producers.
01:37 Yeah, we were just so blessed that there was that rain in the north and we're very thankful
01:41 that those guys prepared to travel down here and support our sales and we hope they have
01:45 great success with the cattle they purchase and we see them here again next year.
01:49 And finally, Tim, 14,000 odd head, like I said, it's a pretty good start to the cattle
01:55 season, good value for vendors and everybody's pretty happy.
02:00 Yeah, no, I think we're satisfied, you know what I mean, and we appreciate the support
02:06 of the land and the other media outlets that support us here and particularly I think it's
02:10 been a huge effort for the carriers and the vendors to put a huge effort in in the first
02:14 few days of the year to get here and the Sailyard staff have done a good job and I think all
02:20 in all it's been very successful.
