00:00 Rick Smith is the Nutrient Custard and Livestock Manager here at the Angus Weiner Steersail for 2024.
00:06 Rick, how's the sale been?
00:08 So far it's ticking over really well.
00:10 Our heavier drafts, which were all 380 to 400 kilos, have all been making anywhere from 325 to 330 and a bit more on the EU's, which has been good.
00:20 Once we're getting off those sort of better bred calves, we've sort of been 310 to 315 and we've just started these lighter calves, which again are all making between 320 to 340.
00:30 So practically you could throw a blanket over the whole yard and say 320 to 330 is nearly going to cover it for the day.
00:36 Good strong competition from buyers across Victoria, South Australia and New South Wales?
00:40 Yeah, very strong. We've got the usual repeat buyers like Bill and John and obviously the Lee and Gathel boys have been strong, whether it's been SEJ or Nutrien.
00:50 And then obviously Andrew Lowe has been a good supporter of the yards and buying a lot of those good EU calves for Northern clients.
