00:08 I love Ballarat for its sense of community.
00:10 I love the fact that we're like a big family,
00:14 but we also have that city vibe.
00:16 So we're attracting some really new and exciting industries
00:20 to the region and that's been exciting to be a part.
00:24 My family were born here
00:27 and I want to see Ballarat survive and thrive.
00:33 For me it's the opportunity to make an impact
00:37 and do some good for the community.
00:40 I'm very lucky to work across multiple industries
00:43 with the job role that I have,
00:45 whether it be a skills priority area like hospitality
00:48 or in the care sector.
00:49 I never know what I'm going to be doing on any day of the week.
00:53 But the good thing about that is that I actually get to learn
00:56 so many different things about those industries.
00:58 So not only do I get to connect somebody with their first job,
01:01 but I might actually also be making an impact to somebody
01:05 who's never worked or is changing a career
01:09 or is wanting to pursue something
01:11 that they just didn't have the opportunity to
01:13 when they were a teenager.
01:15 The Local Jobs Program is not just about finding their first job,
01:18 it's about making sure the whole community works together
01:22 to have a big impact on the community
01:25 and drive a workforce that drives our economy
01:28 that hopefully makes us one of the most successful cities.
01:32 If I looked to Ballarat in 10 years time,
01:34 I'm hoping that we'll see so many more industries attracted here.
01:38 We're starting to slowly see them in BWES.
01:40 I'm hoping we see that buzzing.
01:42 I'm hoping that airport transports
01:45 and connects us to the rest of Australia.
01:47 And I'm also hoping that I can be a part of the leadership
01:51 and the drive for being a better Ballarat.
