00:00 G'day, I'm Paul.
00:01 So the Ford Everest, it has finally been revealed
00:03 and today I'm gonna take you through
00:04 all of the official details.
00:06 Now, before we get started,
00:07 I just wanna run you through the things we don't know yet,
00:09 because I know you're probably gonna ask about it.
00:10 We don't know pricing,
00:12 we don't know power and torque outputs of the engines,
00:14 and we also don't know availability.
00:16 So we assume that it is going to be coming around mid-year,
00:20 a little bit after that,
00:21 but we don't know exactly how much supply
00:22 Ford is gonna have.
00:23 So let's get started
00:24 and I'll run you through all of the details.
00:27 Let's kick off with the exterior
00:29 and I'll run you through the trim levels that we know about.
00:31 So we know there's gonna be a Sport, a Trend, a Titanium,
00:35 so that kind of mirrors the current Everest range,
00:37 but they're now adding Platinum.
00:39 So there could be other variants coming down the track,
00:41 but these are just the ones we know about now.
00:43 And this is the Platinum right here,
00:44 and I think it looks sensational.
00:48 It just has a real luxury feel to it
00:51 and they've pulled Platinum from,
00:53 I think in the States they use Platinum a lot
00:55 on things like F-150,
00:56 so it designates the top, top spec.
00:59 And I think this is what Ford is gonna use
01:01 to push the price up of Everest,
01:03 just that little bit more to extract as much money
01:05 as they can from you.
01:06 So you can see that lettering on top of the bonnet there.
01:09 You can also see with the grill there,
01:11 they've gone with that 3D waterfall effect
01:13 and it's got that polished chrome on the front there.
01:15 So moved away from things like a flashy chrome
01:19 and that polished brushed aluminium look
01:21 really sort of just tapers off the front end.
01:23 The other interesting thing they've added here,
01:25 so you've got the C-clamp headlights,
01:26 so that kind of mimics what they've done in Ranger,
01:29 but what they have added to Everest here is Matrix LED.
01:33 We do know that's coming to some variants
01:34 of the Ranger as well.
01:36 Matrix LED is basically the ability for you
01:38 to have your high beam lights on
01:39 and not dazzle other people that are coming towards you.
01:42 If you continue around the front there,
01:44 you can see we've got LED lights buried down the bottom,
01:46 a little bit of cooling for the engine.
01:47 So this is now going to come with the availability
01:50 of the V6 diesel as well,
01:51 so I'm gonna go through that
01:52 in a little bit more detail later on in the video.
01:54 And on the side flanks there,
01:56 you can see the engine designation as well,
01:57 depending on which variant you go for.
01:59 Wheels, so they go up to 21 inches here
02:01 for the Platinum model.
02:03 So obviously that's not an off-road tyre package,
02:06 but I suspect just like the current Ranger,
02:08 you'll be able to option all-terrain tyres,
02:11 which make it better for off-road driving
02:12 instead of what looks like very much a road-focused tyre.
02:16 Down the side as well, you can see side steps there
02:17 and also another Platinum badge.
02:20 We mentioned in our Ranger overview
02:22 and our detailed walk around of that,
02:23 by the way, you can watch that by clicking up here,
02:26 that Ford used changes to the rear suspension
02:28 to increase the track at the rear by 50 mil.
02:31 So that means that this has a wider stance on it at the back,
02:34 it's got a longer wheelbase as well.
02:36 That means you should have more accommodation
02:38 inside the cabin.
02:39 The other thing that Everest also suffered from
02:42 was kind of having a wider bottom
02:44 and then as it got up to the top, it really narrowed off,
02:47 and that was because it inherited
02:48 all of those proportions from the ute.
02:50 Now that the ute sits a little wider and prouder on the road,
02:53 this follows onto the Everest.
02:55 And you can see all the way down the side of the car there,
02:57 they've kept it nice and wide.
02:59 And then as it tapers up to the roof,
03:00 they've kept it nice and wide as well.
03:02 So it has a really confident feel to it on the road.
03:05 And you can see here in this footage that Ford has released
03:08 that it really just has, I don't know,
03:10 it just looks big and meaty.
03:12 It doesn't feel small and like it's gonna topple over
03:15 like the current Everest does to some degree.
03:18 Around the back, I love the use of these LED lights.
03:21 So we did mention in our previous video
03:23 when we digested Ford spy footage of the Everest,
03:27 they have gone down the path of LED lighting at the rear.
03:29 Depending on which spec you choose,
03:31 you either get lighting here on the edge
03:33 or lighting all the way through
03:34 to the sort of inner part of that boot.
03:38 And then inside that boot,
03:39 you have a clear Perspex cover over lettering.
03:43 And that lettering, depending on which grade you go for,
03:44 we'll say Platinum or Everest,
03:46 I think that's a really nice look
03:48 and it gives it a premium feel
03:50 and a premium finish on the rear of the car.
03:53 One of the things you're gonna notice as well
03:54 is the roof here.
03:55 So depending on again, which Everest grad you go for,
03:58 you're either getting roof racks
03:59 that sit flush with the body or standoff roof racks
04:02 as they call them, which have that air gap
04:04 between the body and the top of the roof rack.
04:07 Now, the interesting thing with this is
04:09 you can have up to 100 kilograms of dynamic load.
04:11 So that's load while the vehicle is moving
04:13 and up to 350 kilos of point load.
04:15 So that is something like a tent or an awning
04:18 when the vehicle is stationary.
04:20 So I think that is going to be really good
04:22 if you do enjoy camping and that kind of thing.
04:24 It means that you can set up all the stuff
04:25 that you need on the roof
04:26 and it can actually support a decent load on it.
04:29 One thing I am a little disappointed with,
04:30 if you look up the top here is the shark fin aerial.
04:34 Yes, great shark fin aerial, it's right there,
04:36 but it also has a traditional aerial
04:38 sticking out of the top.
04:39 And it makes no sense to me
04:40 why they have to have two aerials there.
04:42 You would surely just go with a shark fin aerial
04:44 and clean up that top section.
04:45 So that is a really strange addition.
04:48 And we've seen that now on Ranger as well.
04:50 And it's just a very odd one to me.
04:52 Now I'll show you the Sport here.
04:53 So the Sport is kind of the,
04:56 I guess the sporty version of the Everest.
04:59 But you can see here with the design,
05:00 they've gone for black everywhere.
05:02 So that grill is black, the wheels are black,
05:04 all the highlights are black as well.
05:06 It actually looks pretty cool there
05:08 with that dark blue color.
05:09 And I think this is going to be the option for people that,
05:11 I don't know, they want to be driving an Everest,
05:13 but they don't want that premium look to it.
05:15 You can see as well with the wheels and tire package
05:17 that it looks like an all-terrain tire.
05:18 So if you are going to be doing a lot of off-road driving,
05:20 perhaps this is the model to go for.
05:22 And a different grade of LED lights there as well.
05:24 You can see that while it is still LED,
05:26 it doesn't have that projector housing
05:28 like they do on the Platinum model.
05:29 And then instead of Platinum on the bonnet there,
05:31 it just says Everest.
05:33 The one interesting thing here with Everest is zone lighting.
05:36 So if you are doing camping and that kind of thing,
05:39 you can, just like the Ranger setup,
05:41 zone lighting around the vehicle.
05:42 And it means you can have 360 degree coverage
05:45 around the car for setting up camping tents
05:48 and other sort of adventure-y type things
05:51 while you're out in the wilderness and it is dark.
05:53 So you can figure that all through the center touchscreen
05:55 inside the car, which I'll run you through in just a sec.
05:57 And finally, the other bit of footage we have
05:58 is of the Trend.
05:59 I actually got to check the Trend out in person.
06:02 And you can actually see our walk-around video
06:05 of that car by clicking up here.
06:07 The Trend is, I guess, trendy in the sense
06:10 that they've gone for more stylistic highlights.
06:12 So you've got chrome around the cabin there,
06:14 but it won't break the bank when it comes to budget.
06:17 This will sort of sit around mid-spec in the Everest range.
06:19 Now I want to talk about accessories.
06:21 Ford has partnered with ARB
06:23 to be their official accessory partner,
06:25 and they're all going to be warranted
06:27 and you'll be able to buy the accessories
06:28 from the Ford dealer or from ARB,
06:31 but they have been engineered to work with the car.
06:33 One of the images in the press pack,
06:35 I just think looks sensational.
06:37 So you can see a big ARB bull bar there.
06:39 You've also got these huge spotlights,
06:41 a bash plate beneath the car.
06:43 In addition to standard recovery points
06:45 that are load rated as well on the Everest,
06:48 you can see here that ARB has upgraded
06:50 the recovery points on this vehicle.
06:52 Got some brush guards on the side there as well.
06:55 Really is a very cool looking package.
06:57 And I love the fact that this is all warranted
06:59 to work with the car.
07:00 One of the big mistakes people make
07:01 is going and fitting an aftermarket bull bar to their car
07:04 that restricts airflow and over time
07:06 degrades the engine's cooling ability
07:08 and then you end up without a warranty.
07:10 Whereas this, on the other hand,
07:11 you go and get it from your Ford dealer,
07:12 they fit it to the vehicle.
07:13 It's all covered by warranties and that kind of thing.
07:16 So really exciting stuff and I can't wait to see
07:19 vehicles properly equipped with all of this ARB technology.
07:22 Now let's have a look at the interior.
07:24 We had the opportunity to meet up with Ford's designers
07:26 here in Australia who ran us through
07:28 some of the design concepts inside the cabin
07:31 and some of the materials that they've used
07:32 throughout the cabin on these different Everest specs.
07:36 I was really impressed with the platinum
07:38 based on the fit and finish and also just the materials
07:42 that they've tried to use throughout the vehicle
07:44 to make it look and feel a whole lot more premium
07:46 than Everest currently is.
07:47 So if you have a look at this cabin,
07:49 all of this material along the top there is soft touch.
07:51 The doors have this unique soft touch material
07:54 that's first to the Ford world.
07:56 So it was first seen here on Everest.
07:57 You've also got down the bottom here,
07:59 it's a bit tricky to see, but wood grain.
08:01 And that wood grain runs along that dashboard there.
08:04 It's also featured on the doors
08:06 and it's like an open pore type wood grain.
08:09 So it's not that sort of lacquered finish
08:10 or the old school wood grain you see
08:12 on the Prado at the moment.
08:13 It's quite a nice finish.
08:14 You've got storage up the top there.
08:16 So that pops open, you can store things in there.
08:18 You've also got a traditional glove box as well.
08:20 Now we've talked previously on Ranger about the screen.
08:24 So depending on which Everest model you go for,
08:26 you get this whopper big screen in the centre there.
08:28 So it's a 12 inch vertical display.
08:31 This comes with Ford's SYNC 4 infotainment system.
08:34 That means you're getting over the air updates
08:35 to over 50 modules within the car.
08:37 So if Ford decides to make an update in the future
08:40 on some component within the car,
08:42 they can deploy an over the air update
08:44 and that will then filter through to the car
08:45 without you having to do anything.
08:47 And I think that technology is really impressive.
08:50 Only thing that concerns me about this,
08:52 you see in a lot of the footage here that Ford has
08:54 is everything is controlled on that screen.
08:57 Well, pretty much everything is controlled on that screen.
08:59 So my concern is that when you are driving,
09:02 you've got to take your eyes off the road to change settings,
09:04 put your head seats on, adjust little bits and pieces.
09:07 And it can be a little distracting.
09:09 I certainly find it distracting in my Tesla.
09:11 So I suspect this is going to be the same thing.
09:13 So we'll reserve judgment when we do finally drive the car
09:17 and see what it's like in person.
09:18 But yeah, I'll be holding out to see exactly
09:20 what this is like when you are driving day to day.
09:22 Head of the driver as well,
09:23 you're getting this full colour LCD display.
09:26 I like the fact that they've animated this as well.
09:28 So depending on which drive mode you choose,
09:30 it shows you animations.
09:32 And you can see there the rain falling
09:33 when it's in slippery mode.
09:35 So it is pretty impressive that they've tried to give that
09:37 as much design context as they can.
09:40 Wireless phone charging, which is great.
09:42 You have a stack of USB connectivity options inside the car
09:45 and a mix of USB-A and USB-C ports as well,
09:48 including in the second row.
09:49 So the kids will have charged devices, which is great news.
09:53 Just on the second and third rows.
09:55 So you have more space there now
09:56 due to that elongated wheelbase,
09:58 better use of headroom as well.
10:00 It's also going to be the option
10:01 of a full panoramic sunroof.
10:03 Third row is now bigger.
10:04 So you have more space for the third row.
10:07 Now, one of the big changes when it comes
10:09 to getting in and out of the third row
10:11 is that the second and third row now fold flat.
10:14 So depending on sort of how you want it configured,
10:18 you'll be able to drop everything flat.
10:19 So you can actually use it as a bigger load space.
10:21 That also means when you're climbing into the third row,
10:23 you have to kind of climb over the second row.
10:25 And I don't know if that's an amazing idea.
10:27 'Cause I remember in other cars we've tested before,
10:30 we have to climb over the second row.
10:31 It is a bit tricky for adults to get in and out,
10:33 but Ford has added grab handles
10:35 and the type of things that kids need to use
10:36 to get in and out of these vehicles.
10:38 You'll also notice off to the side there,
10:39 there is an electronic release there for the seats.
10:41 So they'll be able to fold down with the push of a button.
10:45 They have coined an interesting term, the Apple catcher.
10:48 So one of the feedback elements they had
10:50 from their customers was that when the car
10:52 was on a slight incline and they had shopping in the back
10:55 and they opened the tailgate, it would all just fall out
10:57 because there was nothing to stop it.
10:59 So they've now installed an Apple catcher,
11:01 which is basically an inclined section
11:03 at the back of the boot that catches all of your groceries
11:05 before they tumble out of the car when you open the boot.
11:07 So I think that's a clever thing and it's good to see
11:10 that they are actually listening to customers.
11:11 So this is the interior of the Trend
11:13 and you can see here that they do change seat layouts
11:16 a little bit.
11:17 That platinum had like a diamond quilted seat finish on it.
11:19 And I think they use real leather in that as well.
11:21 Whereas this is a slightly more basic setup
11:24 and a bit more sort of rugged in that sense,
11:26 but you can still see you get the big screen there
11:28 in the Trend version with a smaller LCD display
11:31 ahead of the driver.
11:32 So that's one of the things we noticed with Ranger,
11:33 depending on which grade you go for,
11:35 they will adjust the size of the screen there
11:37 ahead of the driver.
11:38 Ford's also made improvements to the tailgate.
11:40 So I know one of the issues that I used to have
11:42 was not being able to fit under the tailgate.
11:44 You'd basically whack your head on the plastic components.
11:46 So they have increased the speed at which it opens
11:49 and also the height at which it opens.
11:50 So it means that someone my height,
11:51 around 185 centimetres, can easily fit under the rear
11:55 of the vehicle without knocking their noggin on that.
11:57 There is also beneath the car, a full-size spare tyre.
12:01 So they have neatly tucked that away.
12:02 So it's able to be retrieved when you need it,
12:04 but also doesn't rob you of any boot space
12:06 when you don't need it.
12:07 I will also call out that they are really adding
12:10 a whole host of features here to these vehicles,
12:12 depending on again, which grade you go for.
12:14 But in Platinum, for example,
12:15 you get 10-way power adjustable seats,
12:17 heated front seats, heated second row as well,
12:20 and heated steering wheel.
12:21 So this really is reflective
12:23 of what the price is gonna be.
12:24 I think they really are aiming for something
12:26 like Prado Kakadu, which is around that $90,000 mark.
12:29 This will push Everest right up there,
12:31 especially with the V6 diesel in terms of that pricing.
12:34 Okay, moving on to safety technology.
12:36 I think this is a discussion that's gonna be relevant
12:39 to a lot of families out there.
12:41 And Ford has really taken this car
12:43 and filled it full of safety technology.
12:46 And I think that's really pleasing news,
12:47 especially for people like me.
12:48 You got kids, once you get kids,
12:50 you want them to be as safe as humanly possible.
12:52 And you wanna buy the safest car you can buy
12:54 with your money.
12:55 And I think Ford has tried to achieve as much of that
12:57 as they can here with the Everest.
12:59 Now, apologies for the quality of this footage.
13:01 We took it off Ford's global presentation
13:03 and it wasn't very good to start with
13:05 in terms of the quality.
13:06 So I'll run you through some of the safety highlights.
13:08 So what Ford has done is included things
13:11 like center airbags.
13:12 So you need that for a five-star safety rating now.
13:14 And that's the airbag that sits between the driver
13:17 and the front passenger.
13:18 And that inflates when you do have a side impact
13:20 and it prevents your driver and front passenger
13:22 from hitting each other as the forces
13:24 in the car throw them around.
13:26 Comes with nine airbags in total,
13:27 including coverage for the full third row.
13:30 So Everest already had that to start with,
13:32 but some vehicles in this segment,
13:34 namely things like Kia Sorento, Hyundai Santa Fe,
13:37 they don't actually have coverage for the entire third row.
13:39 So if you do have kids back there,
13:41 the airbag stops like halfway.
13:43 So it is good to see that Ford has completely covered
13:45 that third row in terms of coverage.
13:47 Other interesting safety features include this one here,
13:50 which I don't think I've seen on other vehicles before.
13:53 So blind spot monitor works by using sensors
13:56 behind the vehicle to detect other cars
13:57 that are coming towards you.
13:59 As they get closer and sit within your blind spot,
14:01 you get a little warning on your wing mirror
14:03 and it just tells you, hey, there's a car there,
14:05 don't merge into it.
14:06 What Ford's been able to do is detect
14:08 whether you have a trailer attached to the car
14:10 and the blind spot will include the trailer.
14:13 I don't actually know how this works,
14:15 but effectively while you're driving down the road,
14:17 if a vehicle approaches your blind spot,
14:18 like you can see here, it'll say, hey,
14:20 you've got a vehicle in your blind spot
14:21 that includes the trailer as well.
14:23 So you don't just merge lanes
14:25 and collect that car unknowingly.
14:26 So really cool technology.
14:28 And given this car now has an increased towing capacity
14:30 of three and a half tons,
14:31 I think that this type of feature
14:33 is going to come in very handy.
14:34 Then you've got a host of other features,
14:36 including radar cruise control.
14:38 Comes with a lane tracing feature now as well.
14:40 We've seen this on a lot of other cars in this segment.
14:42 It basically holds the lane for you
14:44 and kind of stops it from pinballing in and out of the lane
14:47 while you're driving.
14:48 You're meant to keep your hands on the wheel.
14:49 A lot of people don't,
14:50 and it will probably come up with a warning
14:52 if you aren't interacting with the car for long enough,
14:54 but it's the typical kind of feature
14:56 you now expect in this segment.
14:58 Active park assist.
14:59 So this will work both perpendicular and parallel.
15:02 So similar to most other systems on the market,
15:04 this also works coming out of a park.
15:06 It's easy enough to get into a park sometimes,
15:08 but getting out of it can be tricky.
15:09 So you can use this function
15:11 for doing both of those things if you need to.
15:13 And then the other features
15:14 that are attached to that safety package,
15:16 you've got a pre-collision assistant
15:18 with intersection warning.
15:19 So if you are at an intersection
15:20 and you try and cross that intersection
15:22 while there is a car coming,
15:23 it'll slam the brakes on for you.
15:25 You've got an evasive steering assistant.
15:27 It requires less steering input
15:28 if you do need to evade a vehicle
15:30 that's stopped in front of you.
15:31 And then also front and rear AEB.
15:34 Rear AEB works for things like reversing in the bush.
15:37 They've actually got a shot here of a bloke
15:39 reversing towards a tree.
15:41 It'll just slam the brakes on
15:42 if you're about to hit the tree or a kid
15:44 or something like that that's run out behind you.
15:46 So really clever feature.
15:47 And it's something that I believe all SUVs should have.
15:50 You're gonna be in and around kids.
15:51 You need to have that safety technology there
15:53 to prevent you from having these senseless accidents.
15:56 Righto, let's talk powertrain.
15:58 This is probably the bit you're all looking forward to.
16:00 Now I'll run you through the specifications
16:02 for the Australian market.
16:03 This car's gonna be sold globally.
16:05 I know, obviously there's different engines
16:07 for different markets, different specifications.
16:09 So I'll run you through what I know is coming to Australia.
16:11 So you'll have the choice of two engines
16:13 depending on the spec that you're going for.
16:14 So Headline Act is a three liter turbocharged V6 diesel
16:19 engine.
16:19 We don't know the power and torque figures,
16:20 but we do know that it's made it to a 10 speed
16:22 automatic transmission.
16:24 And it'll also be full-time four wheel drive.
16:26 So you won't have that situation where it'll flare up
16:29 the rear wheels and have you doing skids all the time.
16:31 This will be a full-time four wheel drive.
16:33 Ford has a device in the center of the cabin there
16:35 that allows you to switch between four high, four low.
16:38 So you've got a two speed transfer case there
16:40 and that's all done seamlessly, effectively.
16:43 So you can just press a button and it will do that.
16:45 And then you have four wheel drive modes as well
16:46 that I'll run you through in a second.
16:48 You also have the option of a two liter
16:50 twin turbocharged diesel.
16:52 Now I think Ford is going to ramp up the torque output
16:55 of this engine a little bit.
16:56 Currently it's at that 500 Newton meter mark,
16:58 but we have heard rumors that Toyota is going
17:00 to 550 Newton meters.
17:02 And it would make sense that with this latest generation
17:05 Ford will wind the wick up just a little bit there.
17:07 Both of these are going to come with the option
17:08 of three and a half tons of brake to towing capacity.
17:11 So Ford has improved things like braking and cooling
17:14 to achieve that, including upgrades to the GVM.
17:16 That means you should be able to carry more payload
17:18 in addition to towing three and a half tons.
17:20 So we don't have those exact figures yet,
17:22 but we will share those when we get them.
17:24 It is also worth pointing out that Ford has included
17:27 as part of this Everest standard equipment,
17:29 an electronic brake controller.
17:31 So that means you won't have to go get that fitted
17:32 later on and punch holes in the car
17:35 and do all that sort of ungainly stuff.
17:36 It will be fitted to the car standard.
17:38 It will also come with the availability
17:40 of a second battery housing.
17:41 So just like Ranger, if you do a sort of proper
17:44 serious off-road driving and you want to have
17:46 an auxiliary battery, you'll be able to mount that
17:48 under the bonnet.
17:49 In terms of off-roading, Ford has improved things
17:51 like approach and departure angle.
17:53 There is also the inclusion of an electronic
17:55 rear differential lock.
17:56 So that means that this is a really capable four-wheel drive
17:59 in the way that it is now.
18:00 You've got four-wheel drive modes,
18:02 plus the diff lock at the rear, and also low range
18:05 to really get you anywhere you need to go,
18:07 plus the option of those all-terrain tires.
18:08 So from an off-road perspective, Ford really has catered
18:12 for people who want to be driving in and around the city,
18:14 but also want to be able to go out
18:15 and have some adventure on weekends as well.
18:17 And in terms of suspension, Ford uses a Watts linkage
18:20 at the rear, including coil springs,
18:22 four-wheel disc brakes as well.
18:23 And I mentioned earlier that the brake performance
18:25 has been increased to cater for that extra towing load
18:28 and also the V6 diesel engine.
18:30 Okay, so Paul's take, what do I think of all this?
18:32 Look, this is pretty surprising.
18:33 This is way better than I thought it was going to be
18:36 in terms of what they've been able to add to this.
18:38 I love the fact that you can now get a V6 diesel.
18:40 This will really make the Everest a unique proposition
18:43 in this segment.
18:44 To get a V6 diesel or something with that much grunt,
18:46 you really have to go outside of the competitor set
18:49 at the moment.
18:50 And it's going to make a lot of the competitors
18:51 in this segment feel really old.
18:53 We have mentioned previously with our review of the Prado,
18:56 that it is a slug with that engine.
18:58 It's just so slow and it carries so much weight.
19:01 And especially when you go to Kakadu, which is the top spec,
19:04 it really is just carrying a lot of weight around
19:05 that a four-cylinder diesel just really can't cope with.
19:08 So the fact that you now have the option of a V6 diesel
19:10 is really pleasing.
19:11 Three and a half ton brake towing capacity,
19:13 that was kind of a logical move,
19:14 but let's wait and see what the GCM and GVM figures are like
19:17 because not much point making
19:18 at three and a half ton brake towing
19:20 if you can't actually carry a load in the cabin with you
19:22 when you have a three and a half ton caravan on the back.
19:25 Now, what does this mean for the auto industry in general?
19:27 Well, Ford's kind of setting the tone now
19:28 in terms of technology and the features you as a consumer
19:31 should expect inside your new SUV.
19:34 No longer is it appropriate to have these tiny little screens
19:37 and no technology within the car.
19:38 Ford really is setting a tone
19:41 that everyone else is going to need to follow.
19:43 Otherwise, you will just not buy anything else.
19:45 I really have a look at things like the new MU-X,
19:47 it's just been released,
19:48 but already it feels dated compared to this,
19:51 especially with the engine technology
19:52 and the interior tech that it comes with.
19:54 So I think that Toyota with the new Prado
19:56 is gonna have to really step it up
19:58 in terms of finding a V6 diesel
19:59 that can stick under the bonnet.
20:00 If they can fit a 300 series diesel engine under the bonnet,
20:03 I think the new Toyota Prado will be pretty awesome,
20:05 but let's wait and see exactly what happens there.
20:08 But just in general,
20:09 the auto industry really needs a kick along
20:11 and Ford is certainly progressing things.
20:13 I will say though, I am concerned about supply.
20:15 So obviously with Ranger, Everest,
20:17 all now ramping up production
20:19 and Ford dealers taking orders and that kind of thing,
20:21 supply is hard to come by for most brands.
20:24 What's it gonna be like when you have a vehicle like this
20:26 that is under huge demand?
20:28 Will you actually be able to buy one?
20:29 Are there enough semiconductors around the world
20:31 to service Ford's needs with this?
20:33 Well, Ford is confident they are all sorted,
20:36 but I think when that initial rush of orders comes through,
20:39 Ford is really gonna have to work hard to try and achieve
20:42 keeping up with everything.
20:43 It is going to be an absolute struggle,
20:45 but I do hope that they finally manage to get there.
20:48 Now, before we wrap up,
20:49 have you seen our video walk around of the Ranger Raptor?
20:53 If you haven't, you can click up here to watch that.
20:55 That is an exciting looking vehicle as well.
20:57 Now I'm keen for your feedback on the new Ford Everest.
20:59 What do you reckon?
21:00 Let me know in the comment section below.
21:02 Is it as good as you thought it was gonna be?
21:04 Is it better? Is it worse?
21:05 What do you think about the design?
21:06 I reckon the design is pretty good,
21:08 but stopping is entirely subjective.
21:10 I'm keen for your feedback.
21:12 Let me know down there.
