00:03 >> Marshall, we know you hold yourself to a high standard.
00:05 So what would you say about the way you have practiced training camp so far?
00:11 >> It's been all right.
00:12 I just try to be better.
00:15 I try to be better every year.
00:17 And I feel like this is one of my best camp just as far as everything I've been
00:22 doing.
00:22 So I can always be better though in my eyes.
00:25 So it is what it is.
00:27 I'm just working right now.
00:28 >> With some of the stuff you said you wanna get better,
00:32 with some of the stuff you're trying to do to be better.
00:33 >> I'm trying to do everything.
00:37 Everywhere I feel I can get better at as far as technique, speed, strength,
00:42 anything that's mental.
00:44 So I'm trying to get better at it.
00:46 I mean, yeah, everywhere.
00:49 >> Marshall, how much did you get better with one-on-one battle with Mike Thomas?
00:52 >> I've been checking Mike for eight years.
00:56 That's my brother and all that.
01:00 But I just like the competition.
01:02 He's brand.
01:03 He's gonna make everybody better just from competing.
01:06 So no rest, that's all I gotta give him every time.
01:10 Yeah, so as long as I win, that is what it is.
01:15 And he's still getting there, getting back.
01:20 I ain't really tripping on him.
01:21 I wanna see him during the season.
01:23 >> What do you think about the competition between
01:28 Paulson, D'Evoe, and Elantay Taylor and just how good they've been?
01:32 >> They've just been working.
01:33 I really ain't really had too much time to just sit there and look at what they doing.
01:38 That's between us, you know what I'm saying?
01:40 So I just wish both of them the best.
01:42 Both of them can play here or anywhere.
01:44 So I just let them handle that and compete.
01:47 And I just try to be there for both of them.
01:50 If they got questions, just come to me.
01:52 >> What kind of questions does Elantay kinda take your brain on?
01:57 >> Just splits, everything, every little thing that he can, just splits.
02:01 As far as what the receiver might do if he's here and there,
02:06 just stuff like that to get his mental right.
02:08 He got the physical, he's just mental.
02:10 It's just him being young.
02:11 >> Marshall, what kind of personal goals do you have for your sentence?
02:16 >> Personal goals, to be the best, be the best corner in the league, that's it.
02:21 >> How close are you to that?
02:22 >> I'm close, I got some work to do, of course.
02:28 It's not gonna be easy, I ain't really tripping.
02:30 I wanna put that on myself so I can work hard.
02:34 So I just wanna be the best corner to help my team win.
02:38 >> Marshall, what do you feel like your game separates you from the rest of the
02:41 cornerbacks?
02:41 >> Just being physical.
02:46 I think that's a big part of my game.
02:49 That's separate, everybody can run, everybody got hips or whatever.
02:52 It's just the physical part of the game, tackling and
02:55 just being physical with the receiver.
02:57 I feel like that's separate.
02:59 >> Marshall, D.A. talks about the responsibility they put on you in terms
03:02 of one on one.
03:04 How much does that fuel you?
03:05 >> I just know I gotta be the best.
03:09 I gotta be the top condition, corner in the league.
03:13 I'm just chasing around fast, dude, like that.
03:15 You know what I'm saying?
03:16 So that just really is.
03:18 It gives me, so I know I've been doing it, this is my seventh year.
03:22 I know I can do it, but it's just staying in the safe zone and
03:25 being the best I can be every time I step on the field.
03:28 >> How much have you seen Chris Alavi grow from year one to year two?
03:31 >> Yeah, he'll stay there.
03:34 I feel like, stay like Chris, he's got it.
03:38 You got it or you don't, he's got it.
03:40 So, that's what he is.
03:42 >> Now, Marshall, speaking of receivers that got it, as a DB rule,
03:46 are y'all looking forward to going against the Chargers receivers?
03:50 They're pretty household names.
03:51 >> Yeah, they're receivers.
03:52 I mean, we ain't here for none of that, man.
03:56 With the media we talk about and all that,
03:58 we gonna go against them like anybody, you know what I'm saying?
04:02 So, man, we ain't worried about no names.
04:05 We're gonna go out there and get them.
04:07 That's what it is.
04:08 >> How did you live it through some of the,
04:11 just the health struggles you had last year from that weird play against them?
04:15 How did that affect your outlook on in this season?
04:17 >> That was just fluke.
04:19 I'm falling down and got knees in the ribs.
04:22 You know what I'm saying?
04:23 Not like a hamstring or nothing like that.
04:26 So, I mean, it really ain't bothering me.
04:28 It's just something that happened and I had to overcome it.
04:31 >> But having such an unsatisfying season where you couldn't play as much as you
04:34 wanted to, how did that affect your preparation for this season?
04:37 You know, is it- >> Come out better.
04:40 That was really on my mind, come out better.
04:42 Physically, mentally, everything.
04:45 Be better than what I was the year before.
04:48 >> Marshall, go ahead.
04:51 >> Marshall, what is it that stood out when you faced Eric on every game?
04:57 >> Just his ball placement.
04:58 That's why when he's throwing the ball,
05:01 just how he can put it over on top of his shoulder, back shoulder, whatever.
05:05 He can throw any pads, you know what I'm saying?
05:08 So that make us better with our technique.
05:10 Just battling out there.
05:13 It's just not the receiver when we out there.
05:15 It's the quarterback too.
05:16 The quarterback can throw the receiver open.
05:18 So we just look at that and try to compete with that every day.
05:23 But I feel like he's gonna play a big role in our success.
05:28 >> And Marcus, maybe you'll tell us that sometimes the team,
05:30 they're in there eating, and you're working out and all that stuff.
05:33 Have you always had that kind of work ethic?
05:35 Or is that something that added to this training?
05:38 >> I mean, I was working myself.
05:42 I just don't like to show it, you know what I'm saying?
05:45 I work on my own and do certain stuff.
05:48 But at O state, I used to, before every game, I do cardio.
05:52 I had to lose a little weight and stuff like that.
05:56 Yeah, I'm with the exit.
05:57 If it's gonna make me better, I'll do anything.
05:59 That's just what it is.
06:01 >> Roshun, have you all challenged one another in the DB meeting room as far as
06:05 not only getting past the defensive and interceptions?
06:09 >> Yeah, Seth Dawes, everything.
06:13 You know what I'm saying?
06:14 We about to compete.
06:15 It's in the room, not just against the receivers.
06:17 We compete with much each other.
06:19 So I feel like that's gonna make us better.
06:21 And that's what we're gonna do.
06:24 That's the main win at the end of the day.
06:26 >> Roshun, how are the additions of Marcus Robertson and
06:29 Joe Lewis impacting the team?
06:30 >> I mean, I think it's a little too early to say they impact the team.
06:35 Anything yet, we still in training camp.
06:40 So we're not gonna see it until the game, the actual game.
06:44 And I feel like that'd be the perfect time to ask that question.
06:47 >> Do you feel like it's impacted preparation at all,
06:49 the course of training camp, or anything that they brought in?
06:52 >> I mean, yeah, but everybody's still learning.
06:54 That's new, you know what I'm saying?
06:56 So they learn on the fly, trying to teach us.
06:59 It's time, we need time with each other, you know what I'm saying?
07:03 But they have great coaching, definitely.
07:04 >> What makes you so confident about Mike Thomas?
07:08 You sound confident he's gonna win.
07:11 >> Mike Thomas, he's been doing it.
07:13 He's been showing up every time, even when he played against Atlanta.
07:17 He's the one who got us to win, really.
07:21 Him coming in and competing, he just, Mike Thomas, you know what I'm saying?
07:25 He knows what to do.
07:26 I feel like, and I know personally, he knows what to do.
07:28 He's gonna get out there and do it.
07:29 So I mean, I got a lot of confidence in him.
07:32 >> You said that he wants you to defend him.
07:36 Is that something you all have had all the time?
07:38 >> I saw him every time.
07:40 So of course I gotta get him or a lot of it every time.
07:44 That's just what it is.
07:45 >> What's the challenge in trying to defend him, in particular?
07:49 >> Physically, physically, see, he's quicker than what people think.
07:54 And he catches everything.
07:57 If he's over here, he's catching it.
08:00 He's got it, you know what I'm saying?
08:02 Like I said with Chris, you got it, you got it.
08:04 I believe he don't have time off, so of course he's gonna be resting.
08:08 You know what I'm saying?
08:08 That's nothing I'm concerned about.
08:10 I know he's gonna get out there and do what he gotta do.
08:12 >> How often do you guys go out against Chris?
08:14 Have you noticed he's making any steps in preparing him here to,
08:17 if you wanted to talk about wanting to put on weight and
08:19 being better as a contestant catcher, would you see him not go out against him?
08:22 >> I really, I've been against him, but as far as contestant catcher,
08:25 he's really been having a lot of time with contestant catcher.
08:28 But yeah, he's been winning.
08:30 So having a lot of time winning back and forth.
08:33 So yeah, I see a improvement as far as that.
08:35 >> Come on, Sean, who are your top three DVs in the league?
08:39 >> Sorry?
08:39 >> Your top three DVs in the league?
08:41 >> [BLANK_AUDIO]
08:44 >> Shit, me, Ty, everybody on this roster.
08:50 I'll put them up against anybody on the league, you know what I mean?
08:54 So anybody.
