00:00 [SIDE CONVERSATION]
00:24 I've definitely seen improvement from Trevor.
00:28 You know, what was it, yesterday, I think?
00:30 We worked a little bit after practice on some things
00:33 that have been taught to me by former players, Teron, Shreef.
00:38 Little drills that I thought would be beneficial for him.
00:42 And he seemed to respond well to that and like those drills.
00:46 And I think just from the start of camp,
00:49 I think he's made quite a bit of progress.
00:51 [INAUDIBLE]
00:58 Yeah, I think that's a big part of it.
01:02 You know, he's physically gifted.
01:05 He's a really good athlete.
01:06 And it's really just tying all that in together.
01:09 And it's a big jump for any player,
01:14 playing in the NFL, playing against the best.
01:16 So I think he's getting there.
01:18 And I think he's making strides in the right direction so far.
01:21 Ryan, you've played a few snaps against the [INAUDIBLE]
01:26 if they are limited, how much are you looking forward
01:29 to when you go to LA, again, with the charges
01:31 and the different competition and the cracks and the--
01:35 Yeah, I don't know what my situation is for the Chiefs.
01:38 I'm assuming I'm playing, but I don't know.
01:41 I think going out to LA will be good.
01:44 I think it's been refreshing when we've gone out there.
01:47 You know, you get to play against different guys
01:49 and a different scene.
01:50 And it kind of just--
01:51 it's a good reset, I think.
01:53 I think it's good for everyone.
01:56 Yeah, looking forward to that.
01:57 Ryan, it seems like Cesar recently made some steps forward
02:00 in camp, especially coming back from his rehab.
02:01 How do you see his progress?
02:03 Yeah, I think he had a good rehab this offseason.
02:07 And he's-- I mean, from what I can tell,
02:09 I don't think he's missed a step.
02:12 I think our communication and our--
02:16 I think we've done a good job of building what we had
02:18 to working together to cohesiveness there.
02:24 I think it's been good.
02:25 Ryan, has your management program
02:27 changed over the years, and if so, can you tell us how?
02:32 I'm on the same program as I was last year.
02:35 I think what I did last year was beneficial,
02:39 and my knee felt good throughout the year.
02:41 So I think if we can just stay on that course,
02:45 it'll be good.
02:45 So I'm on the same thing.
02:47 You feel good right now, you'd say?
02:48 Yeah, yeah, I feel overall pretty good.
02:51 How does that get established?
02:52 Is that something you develop with the training staff,
02:55 or is that something you talk about during the offseason?
02:58 I think last year was--
03:03 it got developed last year.
03:05 What works best?
03:06 What amount of rest do I need?
03:08 What amount of reps do I need to be ready for the season,
03:11 in condition, and have enough reps to feel confident that I
03:15 can go out there and play?
03:17 So I think that was the basis was developed last year,
03:20 and then we're just rolling that over into this year.
03:23 [INAUDIBLE]
03:24 Well, yeah.
03:36 I think there is a different dynamic there.
03:39 And hearing his cadence, sometimes you
03:42 can take for granted that a cadence is a cadence.
03:44 But each quarterback has a little different nuances
03:47 there.
03:48 So I think getting a ton of reps with him is beneficial.
03:52 And we have a lot of walk-through reps
03:54 during camp as well, too.
03:55 So that's been good to get a lot of reps with him,
04:00 because it is very important.
04:02 Have you worked much against Carl Heindersen in this camp?
04:05 And if so, can you see differences?
04:09 I mean, obviously, he's a lot bigger than he was.
04:11 Can you see differences in him?
04:13 I haven't gotten any reps against him.
04:17 But I've seen him grow into a really good player.
04:22 I think he's made a lot of progress.
04:26 And I see his pass rush most of the time when I'm watching.
04:32 He's done a really good job.
04:33 He's a good player.
04:34 And I think that's a credit to how hard he's
04:37 worked to improve his game.
04:41 Right with the departure of Zach Street this offseason,
04:44 the team added Kevin Carberry coming in.
04:46 When has he brought that offensive [INAUDIBLE]??
04:49 Yeah, I think he's a really technically sound coach, which
04:57 I think is obviously beneficial for us.
05:00 He's been good.
05:01 I think he's been a really good addition.
05:03 And yeah, guys like him.
05:05 So it's been good so far.
05:06 OK, time for one more.
05:10 Do you do much work with Jari Evans?
05:11 Or does he just kind of focus on the interior?
05:13 Or what's that role?
05:15 I mean, obviously he played interior.
05:18 So I think that's more his role there.
05:22 He's able to help the interior guys more.
05:24 But obviously, I'm able to bounce questions off of him
05:29 as far as combinations and passing off
05:33 games in the pass game.
05:35 So definitely beneficial to have knowledge from him.
