00:00 Alright, Jon, lead off.
00:02 DA was talking about just being able to come back from a play, maybe it wasn't for you,
00:08 what was your overall assessment of where you felt you were at Sunday?
00:12 It was good. There's definitely stuff I can learn from, that's every game.
00:17 There's stuff you do well, stuff you go back and watch and you're kind of like,
00:22 "Hey, I need to clean this up."
00:24 A lot of technical, fundamental stuff, for sure I could clean up.
00:28 Every game, you're trying to look for those.
00:32 How do you feel physically? They've heaped a workload on you, it feels like, the last couple weeks.
00:40 Has that gotten you to where you want to be now?
00:43 It's definitely good. DA's got a plan for all of us, really, to get us ready to go for the season.
00:50 I'm definitely a little winded after flying to California and back and all the reps we had,
00:57 but it's going to pay off in the long run and get us ready for the season.
01:02 Do you feel physically, as far as strength in the legs and everything like that?
01:06 Compared to where I was?
01:08 Yeah, what you would be.
01:10 I'd say I'm definitely as strong as I've ever really been.
01:14 So now that you're getting all the game reps, what is number one or two on the list of things you want to hone in on?
01:24 Or refine?
01:27 What are the things I want to get better at?
01:29 Definitely my hands in pass pro, and just using them to my advantage, and using my length,
01:37 and keeping guys away from me, and getting my feet set in pass pro.
01:41 Just really all the fundamental stuff I can always get better at, so just keep working those.
01:48 When you're doing that with your hands, what's the biggest area of that? Is it speed? Is it power?
01:55 Where is it that you need to fix that up?
01:57 Definitely power right now. I'm trying to work on power right now.
02:01 Really, what we're being taught is to take away the inside moves and power up,
02:11 and making them come to you, and then take away the power and then I have to go around it.
02:18 Not giving them a three-way go, just making them have to do it, to go around.
02:24 I know last year was not all reps in your lineup, but how beneficial is it to go on the field, do something,
02:29 see what you're doing right, see what you're doing wrong, and then actually be able to rep it the next day?
02:33 Yeah, it's definitely good. Come out here every day and put yourself through practice,
02:40 and evaluating yourself every day in the film room, making little corrections,
02:45 what I can do better, what I'm good, little things like that.
02:51 Come back the next day and really work on it.
02:54 Where do you feel like you're at, self-evaluation-wise?
02:57 I feel good. There's definitely some spots I can clean up to be even better.
03:04 How beneficial has it been playing next to James?
03:06 Good. He's a great guy to play next to. He's a smart guy.
03:12 He knows what's going on before it even happens, so it's nice to have him out there.
03:17 He's almost kind of like an on-field coach at some points, because he knows all.
03:22 He's a very smart guy.
03:24 What were your impressions of Khalil Mack and Bosa? Those are two of the elite guys in the league.
03:30 Yeah, it's definitely good to go against two guys like that for sure,
03:34 to kind of see who some of the guys are in the league.
03:38 Going against them was huge. You're getting the best of the best,
03:43 so it's good to kind of see where you're at and what you need to do to improve and go against those guys.
03:49 Was there any particular learning lessons to take from that?
03:54 Because that's veteran guys?
03:56 Yeah, I mean, I guess, yeah.
03:59 That's kind of every guy you go against, you kind of learn stuff about yourself and about them.
04:06 Yeah, there's some things for sure.
04:08 What was your self-review of that? We asked you how you felt you did in the game,
04:11 but how did you feel like you did in those L.A. games?
04:15 I thought it was pretty good. The first day was a little shaky for sure.
04:20 The second day I felt like I came out there and did a little bit better
04:23 and improved on what I did bad the first day.
04:26 I kind of really focused in on that and tried to correct it.
04:31 The running play in the Sunday game, everybody saw that the guy ended up hitting the back of the loft.
04:39 What in particular on that should you have done better, if anything?
04:43 I was too--my fundamentals were probably sloppy.
04:48 My feet were too slow, and I was overshooting it almost too much.
04:53 He made the inside move. I just needed to be a little bit more tighter,
04:56 tighter footwork, and drive through the guy and not go around.
05:00 So like when you said earlier about letting him come to you sometimes,
05:04 is that something different?
05:06 Yeah, that's a little different, but more just be aggressive on an angle
05:10 and work towards him, not around him almost.
05:15 Anything else?
