00:03 >> We good?
00:04 >> Yeah.
00:04 >> Okay.
00:05 >> Let's start with the game.
00:08 Just how good did it feel being able to get after the quarterback and
00:10 force a fumble?
00:11 >> It was nice getting back out there making a big play, especially early in
00:15 the game and then just helping us go score.
00:18 So we talk about that a lot, taking advantage of our situation.
00:21 We gotta force fumble turnover, then we go score on it.
00:23 So it's a big deal, but felt good to be back out there playing.
00:27 >> Have you seen your confidence just kinda grow throughout day one to now?
00:30 Just kinda where you feel like you're at?
00:32 >> I feel good, I feel good where I'm at.
00:34 Like I've been saying, I feel like my confidence has been rising.
00:38 Coach Grantham just keeps coaching me, help guiding me.
00:41 I don't feel super restricted.
00:43 So just having that freedom is gonna just create confidence.
00:48 >> Yeah, so anytime there's a lot of turnover on a position group,
00:53 like defensive line where Shi and David, Marcus are all gone.
00:58 >> Right. >> It's just,
00:59 there's a little bit of uncertainty coming in.
01:02 And it gets kinda dissolved maybe over the course of camp.
01:04 And how are you feeling after these two season games and
01:07 all the practices about where the position group is going?
01:10 >> I think we're in a good spot.
01:11 I think we're in a good place.
01:12 I think we're working on depth, I think is the biggest thing.
01:15 And we have guys with experience backing up, guys with experience, right?
01:18 So we got Bank or Roche, whoever's on the inside.
01:21 We got Cam over there.
01:22 So we got a lot of guys that have a lot of experience and
01:24 they're just building that depth and
01:25 having that production through depth, I think is what we're working towards right now.
01:30 >> When you've had opportunities in these two season games,
01:33 like fourth and short against Kansas City.
01:35 And I remember you had that stunt against Kansas City where you spun and
01:39 went inside and delivered a big hit.
01:41 >> Yeah.
01:41 >> It's like things are, you guys feel like-
01:45 >> Yeah, I feel like we're clicking.
01:46 I feel like we're clicking.
01:47 I feel like we're making plays.
01:48 Just being consistent in the run game has been a big point of emphasis
01:54 through this off season.
01:55 Just because we let up a little bit more running yards last year than we had in
01:59 previous years.
02:00 So it's an emphasis this year and then just going out there and
02:02 being able to put them in situations where we go much faster is ideal.
02:05 So that's kind of where we're at right now.
02:06 >> Pete, what's kind of been your observation on the new interior guys you
02:15 guys have had?
02:16 What has that added to your feedback?
02:17 >> I think they're disruptive.
02:18 I think we got good athletes on the interior.
02:22 It's not just a bunch of mass.
02:23 We got guys that can move around, can stunt, can work their hands in the pass
02:27 rush, work their hips, work their feet.
02:28 So I think it's a new dynamic.
02:31 I'm just having guys that can push the pocket and
02:32 you can work more speed on the outside, right?
02:34 So just having that ability, I think, just makes everybody's jobs easier.
02:38 >> Yeah, I was gonna ask- >> Especially on the edge.
02:40 >> I was gonna ask about that connection.
02:42 >> Yeah. >> Where if they're getting that
02:43 interior push, it's gotta help you guys.
02:45 >> Yeah.
02:45 I mean, sometimes you don't get that inside move falling in.
02:49 Every once in a while, that camp kills and one that pushed by.
02:51 But just us coming out here and working together and getting a feel for
02:55 each other, how each other rushes, I think is big.
02:57 That's kind of been the focus.
02:59 So when we get the game time, it just feels natural.
03:01 >> I've heard before the focus on even at fumbles, we get to the quarterback.
03:08 Is that gonna continue focus for y'all this offseason?
03:10 >> Yeah, we get a lot of points for punching the ball out.
03:12 So if y'all see guys going to training room with messed up ribs or
03:17 little forearm bumps or whatever,
03:19 through our training camp is probably why guys punch up the ball and stuff.
03:21 So it's been a big in the system since our offseason.
03:23 >> And y'all are keeping track of the points.
03:25 >> Yeah, for sure.
03:27 >> Were you given a breezy grief for not scooping and scoring?
03:31 >> Man, that would have been a big highlight, huh?
03:33 Yeah, so I used to have Tonto with his head down.
03:35 I didn't even know what happened at that point.
03:38 But we got to the sideline, saw the film.
03:39 Yeah, you got a few more years, figure it out.
03:44 But yeah, he'll be all right.
03:46 >> How does having confidence in a secondary,
03:51 the way that this defensive line is, how does it impact the way you prepare?
03:55 >> Don't stop rushing.
03:57 Usually you just want them to give you a step, but the way that they're playing and
04:01 the way that they're capable of playing, I mean,
04:03 I think I'm comfortable with saying they're gonna give us two steps.
04:06 So just being able to go out there and just continue rushing, continue.
04:08 You don't hit on your first move, come back with the count, you know what I mean?
04:11 So I think it gives you more confidence to rush harder,
04:15 I mean, and come down the D-line, so.
04:18 >> Kind of keep them up.
04:19 >> Yeah, for sure, for sure.
04:21 >> Great.
