00:00 Hi, I'm Kiana.
00:01 Hi, I'm Cynthia.
00:02 And we're making a Hello Kitty cake.
00:05 I'll be making the fondant.
00:06 And I'll be making the actual cake.
00:08 And in the end, we'll put it all together
00:10 and make the famous cake.
00:15 Your surface.
00:15 Clean it up, girl.
00:22 These are the ingredients you need
00:23 to make the marshmallow fondant.
00:25 You need 16 ounces of mini marshmallows,
00:29 1/4 of a cup of butter, 2 pounds of powdered sugar,
00:35 1/4 of a cup of water, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
00:39 Before we do anything, we've got to turn on the oven.
00:42 So--
00:43 [BEEP]
00:44 Start.
00:44 Ooh, bam.
00:45 Preheat it.
00:46 First, place the butter in a shallow bowl and set aside.
00:58 Oh my god, I can't do this.
00:59 Place the marshmallows in a microwavable-safe bowl.
01:07 Bam.
01:08 Microwave on high for 30 seconds to a minute
01:10 to start melting the marshmallows.
01:12 [MICROWAVE BEEPING]
01:16 So now I'm eating popcorn.
01:18 Next, put your water in and your vanilla.
01:25 And carefully stir until well-mixed.
01:29 Gradually put the confectioner or powdered sugar
01:33 into the mixture.
01:33 Oh, it's cute.
01:41 Oh my gosh.
01:50 Oh my god.
01:53 Is it getting harder?
01:54 I don't know.
01:55 It should be getting harder.
01:57 I can't touch it.
02:00 Wait, wait, wait, wait.
02:01 You're going too fast.
02:02 Hurry up.
02:03 You're going too slow.
02:04 You don't have to take the whole--
02:05 [MICROWAVE BEEPING]
02:07 Oh my god.
02:08 [MICROWAVE BEEPING]
02:11 [INAUDIBLE]
02:13 [MICROWAVE BEEPING]
02:18 It's getting harder.
02:19 OK, good.
02:19 It's hurting me.
02:21 You have to keep going.
02:22 It's a minute long.
02:24 OK, we're done.
02:25 Until it looks like dough, by the way.
02:31 You can knead the fondant with the stick of butter.
02:35 Put the fondant into the bag and let
02:38 it sit in the fridge overnight.
02:40 Now that you've let your fondant sit overnight,
02:46 lay out a cup of powdered sugar on the counter.

02:56 To continue kneading the dough.
02:57 Cover the dough with powdered sugar and begin to roll it out.

03:11 This is the cake we're going to be making.
03:15 Get some fosting.
03:17 Yeah.
03:20 It's going to be Hello Kitty with the doves.
03:23 OK.
03:24 The ingredients you need are three eggs, 1/4 cup of water,
03:30 and 1/3 cup of oil.
03:32 And of course, your box.
03:35 Duh.
03:36 After you gather all the ingredients,
03:38 you pour them into a bowl.
03:39 [MUSIC PLAYING]
03:54 Then start to mix your cake together.
03:59 After you're done mixing your cake,
04:01 then butter your pan for the oven.
04:05 [MUSIC PLAYING]
04:10 After the pan is buttered, then pour the cake into it.
04:13 Now that the cake is mixed, put it into the oven.
04:18 [MUSIC PLAYING]
04:25 Set your timer for 30 minutes.
04:28 Now that the cake is done, put it on the countertop
04:32 and let it cool down for 10 to 15 minutes.
04:34 Now that the cake is cooled down, take it out of the pan.
04:38 Then you start to put the frosting on the cake
04:41 so you can then put on the fondant.
04:42 After putting the fondant on, cut around it
04:48 to shape the cake.
04:49 [MUSIC PLAYING]
04:55 Now with the leftover dough, you make the bow.
04:58 [MUSIC PLAYING]
05:01 Now add the food coloring to your fondant for the bow.
05:06 [MUSIC PLAYING]
05:16 Once you color the bow, put it onto the cake.
05:20 Now fill in the eyes with black frosting,
05:23 and the nose and the whiskers.
