00:00 Good morning from Chicago. I'm Allison Al-Hamed, Editor-in-Chief of Modern Salon, and we are at Gina
00:05 Chelley's East Studio, which is Kuhn's Midwest Academy here. We've got a classroom full of students
00:10 who are learning two different haircuts with Thomas. We've got our buddy Thomas here. So Thomas is
00:16 teaching one haircut, and then Leah Vincent is teaching another one this afternoon. So we're
00:21 going to hang with Thomas for a minute, kind of learn what the students are learning right now,
00:25 and then we're going to do an intimate one-on-one session with Leah, where she's going to take you
00:29 through a haircut from start to finish. So Thomas. Great. Thomas, how's it going? Hi, I'm Thomas
00:35 DeSloniker, and we've had a great two days here so far. So what we're doing today is we're doing a
00:41 haircut called Twisted Sister. I love that. Gorgeous. It's asymmetrical and also has some disconnection in that
00:49 haircut. It's so nice. The special part about this haircut is that the sections that we took on the
00:56 bottom are a curved diagonal forward section. So that allows the hair to be pushed in the direction
01:01 that you want it to go without over styling it to create that push. You can see that really nice
01:06 layered effect in how the hair is being pushed in that direction. I love that. Yeah. So we're working
01:12 on that right now. We walk all the way up the head shape. When we come to the side, we do a traveling
01:19 guide with our razor. And then when we come to the left side where it's a little bit longer, we
01:26 over direct all the hair, but we have a little special finish in that when we over direct the
01:30 hair, we're going to twist the sections and then we're going to back comb it with our texturizing
01:36 shears to really loosen this up and disconnect it. So when it's wet, you're twisting it or when
01:41 it's dry? Yeah, it's like when it's wet. Okay. And then when we get to the top, we're going to twist
01:45 the sections and we're going to go through and do some aerating with the razor. And that's why we
01:50 get the twisted. Oh, I love that. This piece is so much fun. So what's the versatility with this cut?
01:56 How else can she wear it? Oh, it's really versatile. You can actually wave it if you want to curl it,
02:01 scrunch it up. You have some versatility in that. And this is a great haircut that can be customized
02:05 for your clients needs. Love it. Okay. Then you've got some other mannequins here. Are these just for fun?
02:10 Or are you going through these? No, we've gone through these. These are the two that we did
02:13 yesterday. All right. So we have our textured triangle, which builds weight from the bottom up.
02:20 And you can see that it has a lot of motion in that hair and energy. Yeah. Oh, yeah.
02:26 And then this one. And then here is our expressive layers. Now this haircut was a lot of fun for
02:33 everyone to do. This one we actually worked with some clipper cutting. And we did some clipper work
02:39 in this haircut to create this really sharp, edgy layered look. And it really is about expressing
02:45 yourself. So we got to have a lot of fun creating a look like that. This is all about doing some
02:50 advanced work coming from our next level, because guess what? This is all about next level cutting.
02:55 So if you really want to challenge yourself and step outside of your comfort zone, this is the
02:59 perfect program for you. So we're downtown in Chicago at King's Midwest Academy. And this is a
03:04 two day class. Yes, two days. And most of the people are going to go hang out with some of
03:08 your students in a second. But most of the people that are here, they're part of the CUNY family.
03:12 They want to invest in their education. They want to go from foundations to next level. Absolutely.
03:17 And we also have other programs like our creative cutting. And it would be a great opportunity for
03:22 people to come not only to the Satellite Salon here in Chicago, but we also have a Satellite
03:26 Salon in Phoenix, Arizona. And the heartbeat of our company is over in Buckhead, Georgia.
03:33 And it's so much fun. It's a blast. I really want to see all you guys come. That's so fun. So the
03:37 way this is all set up is you've got your mannequin head. What do you call these benchmarks?
03:41 Yeah, those are our benchmarks. The ones that you were looking at prior. And then these are our
03:48 sheets that we're working on so that we have illustrations for some of our visual learners
03:52 that want to see that. So it's a class that's going to be eclectic for all types of learners.
03:56 You know, you got your kinetics, your visual, your auditory learners. And we really encompass
04:01 all of that in our program. So you can walk away with a lot of different techniques and fun stuff.
04:05 So cool. All right, well, we're going to go hang out with some of your students over here.
04:08 Hey, guys. Just go put it out. All right. So what do you think so far? I love it. Yeah.
04:14 What are you learning that you that is going to be a takeaway for you back at the salon?
04:20 Um, I've never really worked with texturizing chairs so much. So I'm doing like haircuts with
04:24 that. Cool. It's been fun. And then you? I love it as well. Yeah. So this is day two. What did
04:31 you learn yesterday that that's got you excited even more for today? Yesterday, I don't do a lot
04:39 of layers with wet hair. Uh huh. Totally new for me. Oh, that's so cool. All right. Well, we can't
04:44 wait to check you out. What do you think? I really like it, especially the movement of the haircut.
04:51 And yes, they will learn a lot of texturing and use different tools. It's really fun.
04:58 Yeah, it looks great. Thank you. Morning, everybody. So this is a class full of students.
05:04 You've got some inspiring stuff up on the walls. Good morning. You're burning to say hey,
05:09 is this your girlfriend over here? She's my girlfriend. So what do you think so far?
05:14 I really like it. Yeah. Yeah. I've taken the foundational classroom as well. At the academy
05:21 in Atlanta. And it's just really nice to like get back to basics, really learn some new techniques
05:25 and then expand on them and take them to the next level. Awesome. All right, cool. We can't wait to
05:29 see this cut. Hello. Good morning, guys. Hi. You're on with Modern Salon. You're having a little bit
05:36 of a coffee break. All right. So why did you decide to take this class? This is going to take
05:43 me to the next level of haircutting for my clients and just bringing back some of the extra style
05:49 and technique for my salon and all my guests that I am able to. And what's your salon?
05:54 Jordan Day Salon in Minnesota Blaine. Hey. Awesome. And what about you? I love cute colors. So we
06:02 decided that I wanted to go to a cutting class to bring what I'm learning today back to my salon
06:08 to teach everybody else. And which salon is that? Bristol and Grace. Oh, where is it? Linkin Park.
06:12 Linkin Park. Perfect. Good morning. All right. So tell us why did you decide to take this class?
06:17 Just to take it to the next level, bring something new to my clients. I'm also from Bristol and Grace
06:22 and I'm excited to be here. Well, we can't wait to see you guys bring your haircuts to life. Hello.
06:27 Good morning. So what do you think so far? Well, I actually love taking classes just to basically
06:33 learn new techniques and get a chance to see any new sort of styles that are just popular nowadays.
06:42 So, so far, everything is going great with this haircut. I feel like it took something that looked
06:48 really challenging and broken down, simplified it. And so far, I'm really loving it. Awesome.
06:53 Well, we can't wait to see it come together. So, all right, guys, hang in there. We are headed to
06:57 go to hang out with Leah Vincent. We're going to be taking you behind the scenes, behind the
07:02 closed curtain. Leah's going to be teaching us a haircut that she calls the Shattered Diamond. So
07:10 this is sort of, look how beautiful this space is. This is the Gina Celli East Studio in Chicago.
07:18 And we are headed back this way. You can see how nice the space is.
07:23 Going a little walk and everywhere you look there is Kuhn, Kuhn, Kuhn. So this is Kuhn's
07:31 Blend. You guys have seen this all over our Facebook lives recently. We have the Kuhn Care
07:36 line and then the Design line over here. Then we're going to keep walking this way where we
07:43 have our friend Leah Vincent. Leah, you're an educator for Kuhn. Yes. And we are at day two
07:51 of the Next Level Cutting class at Kuhn's Midwest Academy in Chicago. And you've got a girlfriend
07:57 here. I do. All right. So tell us about her. What are we doing today? Okay. So I'm going to show you
08:02 the Shattered Diamond, which that's the benchmark right over there. You want to show her off a
08:05 little bit? Okay. She's gorge. So this is the Shattered Diamond. And the diamond shape is more
08:11 on the perimeter. So our points are going to be on all points of the head. So with the nape,
08:16 the front and the sides of the head. And that's where the name came from. And as you can see,
08:22 it's very piecey. It's very much like a pixie. And you had another little alternate name for
08:27 her too, though. A little bit of a modern day mullet. Oh yeah. Yeah. And I feel like that's
08:32 like really, really popular right now. We're seeing it all over like Pinterest, all over
08:37 Instagram feeds. So fun. It's a modern day mullet. All right. So let's get into it. You've got your
08:43 modern day mullet all sectioned off here. Yes. So this is the sectioning for it. So when you come in
08:51 your first section is you're going to put your comb on the side of the head. So the parietal
08:55 ridge is where the comb comes off the head. We're going to go about a half an inch above the parietal
09:01 ridge. And you're going to take that all the way around and you're going to come into the back.
09:07 And you're going to come all the way back to where if you put the comb on the flat part of
09:11 the back of the head, where it comes off there. So you just continue around. And again, on the
09:18 side of the head, about a half an inch above the parietal ridge, and you're going to connect that.
09:23 And then you're going to divide the top part at the apex. So just completely in half.
09:34 And section those two parts out. And then you're going to take the sides and the back.
09:41 And divide them. Just take it straight down the middle. And you're going to combine the sides
09:48 and the back on both sides, right above the ears. Perfect. And that is your sectioning. So it's super
09:53 simple and easy. And then now we can begin the haircut. Excellent. All right. Let me bring her
10:01 down just a bit. And you guys, feel free to ask questions. Leah is here to, I mean this is really
10:09 your intimate one-on-one. And she's going to ask anything from sectioning, to cutting, to body
10:15 position. You name it. She's our girl. Okay. So this entire haircut is going to be done with like
10:25 ponytails that are twisted. And you got to think about where you want your length. So we said,
10:30 one of the lengths is going to be in the front. So it's a longer hair to be there.
10:34 So in order for that to happen, we want to over-direct the hair all the way back to the apex.
10:39 Is this a good spot for me to stand? Or do you want me to? You're fine. Okay. Just let me know.
10:45 Longest you can see. Do you need me to move? No, we're good. And then you're going to twist it.
10:50 And you're going to hold it straight up at 90. You're going to come in with some texturizing
10:57 shears. We all know that whichever way the teeth face is how the hair will lay. So if the teeth are
11:07 facing down, the hair will go down. If the teeth are facing up, the hair will flip up. With this
11:12 cut, I want it to go in all directions. It's the whole point of it is to be messy and to go in all
11:18 directions. So I want to think about that when I'm coming in. So I'm going to come in at different
11:22 angles and we're going to come in going up. Oh my God. And then you're going to come this way.
11:29 Now I'm going to come down. You guys. Yes, it's awesome. I was not prepared for this. Yeah,
11:37 that's what's so great about it. This is next level cutting. All right. Then I'm going to take
11:42 my shears because that inside is always hard to get to. And now I'm going to just kind of slide
11:49 through. Boom. The hair has hit the floor. You are not joking with this. You're taking huge sections.
12:00 Huge sections. So that's what's so great about this because we all know that time is money.
12:05 And when we're in the salon, that's important to everyone. Like that's how we increase our income.
12:10 That's how we get to the next level behind the chair. So it's increasing our income. So again,
12:16 we're going to take this back section. You're going to do the same thing, but I want a shorter
12:22 piece to be here. I want it at the apex. So you bring all of it to the apex, get it nice and clean
12:30 and tight. Can you guys see okay. Give me some parts, make sure I can see. Okay. All right,
12:34 cool. So now we're going to twist. And is it the same direction both times that you're twisting?
12:39 It doesn't matter because we want the hair to go in different ways. So if you want to twist
12:46 in a different way, feel free to twist in a different way. I'm going to flip my shears.
12:51 So changing that and I'm going to come in. Oh my God.
12:57 Now I can walk around. Leah scissor hands up in the, up in here.
13:07 And that one actually did pretty easy. Okay. Yay. I love, this is fun. I did this in my salon
13:18 and my staff was like, oh my gosh, we love this cut. Immediately. Like we've already cut it. Um,
13:26 my coworker, Lenisha, she did it on one of her clients and I've already done it on one of mine.
13:31 Like we just absolutely love it. All right. Now this might freak you guys out too, because
13:36 we're taking the back and the sides and you're combining them into one mass and we're coming
13:44 right above the ear. Oh my goodness. This is too much for a Monday morning. This is what we're
13:52 about. And everyone knows, like we are not supposed to cut a hole at the ear, but guess what?
13:58 We're doing this on purpose. We're cutting a hole in the ear on purpose. So of course,
14:04 the closer you come in, the shorter it's going to be. If you come out a little further,
14:07 you can have more length, but that's up to you. So again, we're just coming in.
14:15 And these shears were just recently sharpened, which makes this much easier. So the sharper,
14:28 the shears, the better. Both of these were just done before I come.
14:33 Wow. You're getting a lot of open mouth reactions here.
14:39 I mean, what do you, what about your clients? So, you know, you said you did this in the salon.
14:47 Was she like, are you sure about this? Or was she the kind of client that embraces?
14:52 Um, of course this has to be a client that embraces change, but it looks super, super cute
14:59 on everyone. And obviously they have to have some kind of length on their hair to be able to do this.
15:06 But the ones that I did it to, um, they were already shortish. And so it wasn't as dramatic.
15:16 We're having to use a brand new mannequin. So that's the difference of it being so dramatic.
15:21 Cool. We like the drama here. Yeah.
15:23 Wow.
15:29 Wait, I want to watch that. Boom. That's so intense. It's so intense. All right. So I'm
15:43 going to wet it down some and put some of our satin oil milk in there. Cause that is my cutting tool.
15:49 Can you show me that before you get moved on to the next thing? So you are going to be
15:53 using this as like a cutting tool. Yes. All right. So it's Kuhn care, satin oil, oil, milk.
15:58 Um, and this is not aerosol. It's a pump. It is a pump. Um, and when I'm using the texturizing
16:05 shears and my razor, I really enjoy this product because it adds a slip being that it's oil-based
16:13 and it's, even though it's oil-based, it's not very heavy. So it doesn't weigh the hair down
16:19 and you're able to like play with it. Look at that nice hole we put in there.
16:25 And then that, that spray really helps glide your comb through,
16:41 glides your shears through. Donna, Donna's watching and she's saying satin oil is her
16:46 favorite go-to product. Donna, we miss you. Good to see you on there.
16:54 So you can decide like if you want a side bang, which way you want to go.
17:01 I'm going to take it going to the left on this one. And I love things not being symmetric. And
17:13 so I went further out on this ponytail versus this one. And so we have a side that is shorter
17:20 and this is longer. Okay. And now all I'm going to do is come through and detail this cut.
17:26 So you've got 90% of it done. Yes. Wow. Like that quick, that fast.
17:32 And now all I have to do is come in and detail it out. Wow.
17:37 And because you're twisted and coming in at different angles, you can see some of the hair's
17:47 flicking out. Some of the hair is going under. And you're, you're into it. Yes. You're cool with
17:51 that. Yeah. That was the purpose of it because we wanted to have the movement and you wanted to have
17:56 all of that. And I want all this disconnection. So I'm just coming in and just sliding down
18:02 and really enhancing the longer pieces. Oh, I love that. That I want to have.
18:09 I want this to come in and hug the nape. So I'm going to comb it. So you want major
18:21 disconnection from the nape to the top. So I'm going to comb it down. And what is this effect
18:28 doing? Are you just using the tip of the razor? I am using the tip of my razor and I'm just slowly
18:34 like going in and just softly. And the best way to learn how to use a razor really gently and
18:39 softly is to come through, um, and on a balloon, get a balloon and shaving cream. I did a razor
18:49 class and that was one of the things that I had them do. And if you pop the balloon and your
18:54 attention to too much, if you can be through it, then, um, then your attention is where it should
19:01 be. I love that. All right. I'm going to stand over here, guys. So now I'm just going to come
19:12 through. It's all surface cutting, blending, sliding down, picking up like vertical sections.
19:20 And if you want, if you want to come over here, if you're going to come through, you want to take
19:25 out a little more weight. If you feel like it's too heavy or too full, you can hold it out directly
19:31 from the head at a 90 from the head, come through and slide through and you can remove more of the
19:38 weight and get in there and shape it the way that you want to shape it. Slide down through the face,
19:46 get an angle side bang. So Leah, while you're working, what would you say to people that,
19:56 I mean, so we're in downtown Chicago, you are teaching these, these techniques to a room full
20:01 of hairdressers who have seen a lot of cuts. What you're teaching is going to be a little bit more
20:06 extreme than the average client. How can you adapt these techniques for the average client or for the
20:12 client who might not want to rock a mullet? What can the stylist bring back to the salon right away
20:18 that they learned something? If you, you can make this much longer, much longer, like this is going
20:23 to be, it's a really beautiful cut at any length. So you can make it longer. Um, and then you just
20:30 come through and feed and you can remove some of these disconnections. You can use your shears to
20:36 eat through the twisted parts versus using your texturizing shears. Um, because not everybody
20:43 likes texturizing shears or notching shears or anything of that nature. So you can change your
20:48 tool and you'll get a totally different effect on the hair. You could do it with a razor where
20:53 you come and slide down the twisted parts and you can leave your length. You can do this on
20:58 extremely long hair and twist those ponytails and just slide down. I'll show you in the back.
21:05 So we still have like, Oh,
21:07 the artist is pleased. I am. It is a modern day mullet and all we have to do is come through and
21:15 remove all this length. But if you were wanting to do this, a softer version, you can take this
21:23 twisted. Doesn't matter which direction. And then you can just slide. Oh, that's cool.
21:33 Hey, Erin. Nice to see you on here.
21:35 Oh, cool. That just really broke up that solid. Yeah. So we're going to see that again. So either
21:46 you can come through, take your vertical sections and thin it out that way or did take a twist
21:51 and slide down. I love that noise.
21:55 So nobody has questions. Oh no, there's questions, but I'm asking them to you. Okay.
22:01 Okay. Now, one of the things that like, I'm a visual person and like I play with the hair and
22:13 see what I want it to do. So if I wanted this to be fuller and just scoop in, then I can take this
22:19 and see that length right there. And there I'm going to slide down and feed it into that.
22:29 And I'm dropping my elevation as I come down. And then that just gives you a better shape through
22:34 there. So fun. Now, while you're working, can you tell us a little bit about how you can also use
22:40 color to emphasize the different points in this cut? Oh yeah. So on my benchmark, what I did is I
22:45 come through and on these longer pieces is the only place that I put lightener. And I believe
22:53 I did magic and 20 volume on my benchmark. Can you say that for people that aren't part of the
22:59 Kuhn family? What do you mean by that? Our magic bleach is... Benchmark. What do you mean by that?
23:05 Oh, benchmark. Sorry. So benchmarks are mannequins that we bring when we teach classes
23:11 so that we have a visual and you can see what the expectation is going to be for the day.
23:19 But you can put your own twist on it. Yes, you can put your own twist on it.
23:23 It's a guide to what you're going to have for the day and see for the day.
23:30 So for people that maybe aren't as comfortable with razor cutting, do you find that razor cutting
23:36 curly hair makes the hair frizzy? You just have to know what you're doing. A lot of people are
23:42 not comfortable with a razor. You can cut curly hair with a razor. You need a fresh blade.
23:49 Is one of the things for sure. But you just have to be very safe and careful on curly hair. Yeah.
23:57 And it depends on how curly and the fabric of the hair. Because I have curly hair and I love
24:05 cutting my hair with a razor. Now someone that has super coarse curly hair, you have to be really
24:12 careful and you need to know what you're doing. It can be done.
24:19 Oh, cool. I love that. So yeah, you can take the nape up even higher for somebody who would be a
24:37 little bit less comfortable with a modern mullet. Maybe a little bit more comfortable with a really
24:43 textured haircut. Right. And it's going to be heavier towards the back because we pulled all
24:54 of this weight to the ears. So then if you want to feed it into that side. Side cutting, surface
25:06 cutting. There's a lot of names for it. Cool. About how much longer until you're wrapped with
25:14 this cut? I mean, honestly, I mean, this is it. You just have to come through and detail it out
25:22 and decide where you want to keep your length and how much of a disconnection do you want.
25:29 April's saying, "Oh, I love shaping with the top of the razor." I love detailing with the razor.
25:35 Mm-hmm. So fun. So this is the only side that I haven't come through.
25:39 But if you notice, like I'm moving around the head and I'm keeping my body position
25:57 directly in front of each section that I'm working at. And a very light tension
26:08 and just surface cutting.
26:11 That's really cute. All right. So you've got a lot of hair here on the floor.
26:22 You took her, you gave her a complete transformation in a relatively short amount of
26:27 time. So with styling, how are you going to style this? What products are you going to use?
26:31 Do you imagine using like a wax, a pomade, a gel? Yes. All of the waxes are really good.
26:40 From the blend line? The fiber wax is amazing. It's actually on the hair right now on the benchmark.
26:47 It's just worked through. The products that are in the benchmarks right now, I used jelly wax.
26:53 Is that from the blend line? It's just from the design line. Design, okay. And you put it in wet
27:00 and I blow dried it in and then fiber wax is on top of it. Cool. So definitely wax and press wax
27:09 is a good aerosol wax and it's a light wax for those people that, like me, that have super fine
27:16 hair, but yet we don't need the wax to be too heavy and weigh down our hair. Awesome. So it's
27:24 like a hairspray wax in a can. All right. Well, we're going to go check out Thomas and see the
27:30 class where they're headed. If you want us to come back, we can totally come back, but otherwise
27:35 you've got to blow dry it back here. I do not. You can grab one or no. We can grab one if we want.
27:40 Yeah. All right. Cool. All right. I'm going to go check in on Thomas's class and then we'll,
27:44 we'll check out Leah and see where she's, how she's doing. Let's go back this way.
27:50 Again, we are at Gina Tully East Studio, which is the
28:00 Kuhn Midwest Academy. And this is the backroom area.
28:04 We've got Kuhn literally everywhere. We're just going to scope it out.
28:10 And then you got to point that way.
28:12 All the way through. What questions do we have still?
28:19 Can you see how you did that nice wrap around the head? So I couldn't see where you're directing
28:26 everything to. So great question. So the question was, where am I directing everything to? So from
28:30 that back section that we have previously cut, we're going to take the section above the ear.
28:35 We're going to direct it back to that section and we're not going to use our corner this time.
28:41 So in our, on our right side, we cut it straight up and down where we were adjacent to the floor.
28:47 This time we're going to pull it straight out from the floor. And then we're going to arc our
28:53 fingers 45 degree finger angle. And we're going to point cut to length. Okay. What you're going
28:59 to do is you're going to continue to bring that section back to that stationary guide. So this
29:04 time we're not walking through, we're going to keep it stationary. That way we get a really nice
29:10 swing and it creates a lot of energy and motion in the hair. And because we created that curved
29:17 diagonal forward section, all of this is going to help push that hair to help it wrap around the
29:22 face. Nice. Awesome guys. Go for it. So what, tell me a little bit about where you guys
29:34 Well, since we last visited each other, we have been doing some more of the haircut that we were
29:39 working on previously. So the students in the class, they're working on their next side, which
29:44 is the longer side. So we're already creating that nice asymmetry right through the head shape.
29:51 So nice. So this cut compared to the, the, the pixie that we were just looking at,
29:58 this one's a little more wearable. Yeah. This one's going to be wearable. This is going to
30:01 be a great haircut for a lot of clients. You know, you can customize the length. So if you want
30:06 something to be a little bit longer, you can create that length through there. And if you
30:11 want something to be a little bit more commercial, you don't have to do such a strong asymmetry,
30:15 but I really think the disconnection that you're going to see through the crown is what's going to
30:19 really make the haircut pop. All right. So how do people stay in touch with you on Instagram?
30:23 Like, would you post a picture of the after up on your Instagram? Oh yeah, absolutely. I will
30:27 post a picture of the after on my Instagram. You can follow me on Instagram @thomas_sloniker_official.
30:33 Awesome. Okay, cool. So let's take one last look over here at these girlfriends. This is the one
30:39 that everyone's working on right now. And then this was done yesterday on day one of the class.
30:45 And this one too. Everyone is working now. Yes, everyone's getting their groove on.
30:55 Getting their work on. Everyone's looking good. Doing their thing. Great. And yeah,
31:03 we have them using razors, texturizing shears, the regular shears, clippers as well, utilizing this
31:09 cut. The great thing about this is I'm not telling them they have to use a certain tool. I'm giving
31:13 them the ability to customize and create. So that's really what it's all about because not every
31:19 haircut is going to fit every person, right? So if you like what we're doing, Leah and I are
31:25 actually going to be at the Academy in Buckhead on April 15th and 16th for our Academy Next Level
31:31 Cutting. So how do people learn more about the education that CUNY is offering? A lot of the
31:36 education you can go to cunyeducation.com and get information for that and our Academy programs.
31:41 Cool. All right, guys, keep up the good work. Nice to see you all. We're going to go check back in
31:47 on Leah, see how she's doing with that blowout of the modern day. Hello. Hey. Got buddies everywhere.
31:55 Almost there. This space is huge, especially for a city salon.
32:02 Gina Celli East Studio. I'll show you the sign right here so you can see.
32:08 Gina Celli East Studio Salon and this is the CUNY Midwest Academy. And we're back.
32:16 Hey. Look how amazing she looks. I had to go and grab all my tools. Surprise. Not starting.
32:23 That's OK. Still looks pretty awesome. So why don't we don't need to watch the actual blowout.
32:28 That's what tell me more about the product that you put in there. So I'm putting the jelly wax in
32:31 there and I'm just damp the hair down because it's already started to dry. And this is actually a
32:37 product that you could leave in as it air dries. And if you have any kind of natural texture to
32:43 the hair, it's wonderful. But you can also blow dry it into the hair. Perfect. All right. We're
32:49 going to watch you blow dry for a little bit and then we're going to sign out. OK, cool.
32:53 So I'm using a little diamond head brush.
33:04 Well, we'll try this one here.
33:19 So.
33:28 So.
33:41 So.
33:54 So.
34:00 So.
34:15 So.
34:24 So.
34:34 So.
34:45 So.
34:59 So.
35:12 It's not all the way dry, but now we can come through with some more. You could use fiber wax,
35:19 but I'm just going to come back through with the jelly wax and just kind of shape it where I want
35:25 it to go. That looks like one satisfied client. Nice, relaxed, happy face. Yeah, love it. All
35:38 right, Miss Leah, thank you so much for this one on one session. How lucky are we? So Thomas was
35:45 telling us that you have a class in Buckhead in mid-April. Can you tell us how to stay in touch
35:50 so that we know when more classes are coming up? You can go to Kuhn's website and the list of the
35:57 Academy calendar is on Kuhn's website. Perfect. And also you can check with any of your local
36:06 distributors. Awesome. Thank you so much. Thank you. All right. Thanks, guys, for watching.
