Ingredients:-
For the Soup:-
500 ml. Water
4 Tomatoes
1 tsp. Garlic Paste
1 tsp. Ginger Paste
3 tbsp. Crushed Groundnuts
4 Green Chillies, sliced at length
1 tbsp. Sugar
1 bowl Thick Coconut Milk
Water
Salt, to taste
For the Tempering:-
1 tsp. Ghee
1 Cinnamon Stick
1 Clove
1 tsp. Cumin Seeds
Method:-
1. In a pan heat water and add tomatoes, garlic paste, ginger paste, crushed groundnuts, green chillies and sugar. Cover with a lid and bring to a boil on a medium flame for 10 minutes. Turn the flame off.
2. Peel off the skins of the tomatoes and mash using a fork. Let it cool down to room temperature.
3. Once cooled, grind in a mixer/grinder and transfer to another saucepan.
4. Add coconut milk, water, salt and stir. Bring to a boil and turn the flame off.
5. In a tempering vessel, add ghee, cinnamon stick, clove and splutter cumin seeds.
6. Turn the flame off and pour the tempering over.
Tomato Saar is ready!
