Ingredients:
Oil
Asafoetida
1 1/2 tsp Urad Dal
1 1/2 tsp Chana Dal
Ginger, chopped
Garlic, chopped
1 1/2 Small sized Onion, chopped
Salt to taste
4 Tomatoes, sliced
1/2 tsp Red Chilli powder
Kashmiri Red Chilli, soaked
For Tempering:
Oil
Asafoetida
1 tsp Mustard seeds
Curry Leaves
Coriander leaves
Juice of 1/2 lime
Method of preparation:
Heat oil in a vessel, add asafoetida, urad dal, chana dal, stir well until they turn brown.
Add ginger, garlic and mix well.
Add onion, salt, tomatoes, red chilli powder, kashmiri red chilli, cook it till the tomato softens.
Switch off the flame, let the mixture cool and then grind it into a paste.
Take it out on a bowl.
Heat oil in a vessel, add asafoetida, mustard seeds, curry leaves, coriander leaves, lime juice.
Our Red Tomato Chutney is ready to serve.
