Ingredients:-
1 cup Pigeon Pea (Toor dal)(కందిపప్పు)
250 grm Tomatoes
Water as required
Salt To Taste
Turmeric
For tempering:-
2 tbsp Oil
1 tsp Mustard seeds
1/2 tsp Fenugreek seeds
8-10 Curry Leaves
3 Red Chillies
Asafoetida
3 Slit Green Chillies
Coriander leaves
Method:-
- Dry roast the Toor dal for about 4 to 5 minutes, Don't roast it too much, just roast it until it gives an aroma.
- Wash the Toor Dal.
- Add 250 grms Chopped Tomatoes and washed dal into the pressure cooker and cook them with 2 cups of water for about 3 whistles.
- Once Pressure cooker has cooled down, check the dal is cooked properly or not.
-For the final tempering, add oil and heat it.
- Once the oil is nice and hot add Mustard seeds, Fenugreek seeds, Asafoetida, Red Chillies, Slit Green Chillies, Curry Leaves.
-Once it splutters pour the cooked dal into the pan.
-Mix it properly and add salt, turmeric.
-Garnish it with coriander leaves.
