Atomun – Movies Made with Cell Phones

Welcome to Atomun - TeleSUR's program on science and technology in Latin America, focusing on the human side of science and technology at the service of progress. Today our host Danny Perez treats us to a preview of the Smart Film Festival in Bogota, in which contestants are encouraged to submit movies made with cell phones. In the “Not Really Fiction” segment, we look back at the film classic, 2001: A Space Odyssey, which provided many new techniques for special effects that would be used later on in other movies and become the base of cinematographic tricks. The “APP of the Week,” is a tool to help keep track of what we spend our money on and where we spend it. And today we also get some helpful tips on creating a more successful blog. History buffs will appreciate the glance at the very first spacewalk in the space race between the Soviet Union and the United States. And last but not least, we learn that Facebook has announced new rules banning groups that support terrorist activities, criminal organizations and hate groups. teleSUR
