In honor of a woman who passed away before her wedding day, her family and friends wore formal bridesmaid dresses and ran through the mud.

Earlier this month, 24-year-old Shannon Hall was killed when the car she was in crashed into a school bus. She and her fiancée, Justin were scheduled to marry on October 4th.

Her four grieving sisters, decided to do the mud run as a way to celebrate Shannon's life. On Saturday In Marshfield, Wisconsin, her siblings wore the bridesmaids’ dresses for Shannon’s wedding and took part in the Udder Mudder race.

Prior to the fatal accident, the five sisters had planned to run in the event wearing formal gowns. One of the sisters, Angie Guralski explained “She was such an amazing, amazing girl and a lot of fun. Since we won’t be wearing them on the 4th, we thought this would be the perfect way to honor her.”

Justin, who is still recovering from injuries due to the accident, trailed the bridesmaids in an off-road vehicle and snapped photos. Although quite a few tears were shed, the bittersweet event also helped the women cope with the loss of the woman they loved so much.
