Sandy Weill Sells NYC Maid's Apartment For $5.3M

It’s safe to say Sanford aka Sandy Weill knows quite a bit about money, because he spent quite a bit of time working as chief executive and chairman of Citigroup. Weill has landed $5.3 million for a maid’s apartment in New York City.

Savvy financier and former Citigroup chairman, Sandy Weill, is no stranger to large real estate transactions.

Weill recently sold his staff apartment for $5.3 million in New York City. Previously it was reported he got roughly 3 million for it but that information turned out to be incorrect.

For the astounding price tag, you can bet this isn’t just any Manhattan home. The apartment is located in the super-upscale building at 15 Central Park West.

In early 2014, Weill listed the pad for $6.25 million and then in February he dropped the price to $5.65 million. He landed about 300 hundred thousand dollars less than that, but on the grand scale of things he still made out pretty good.

The new apartment owner has not been identified. The 1,079-square-foot home rests on the sixth floor and has a marble bathroom, chef's kitchen and private terrace.

Weill paid a little less than $1 million for the apartment back in 2007. This is the second home at 15 Central Park West Weill has gotten rid of. He previously sold his main apartment in the building for $88 million.
