Aspiring artists sometimes have a hard time choosing the perfect canvas.

One teenage boy’s desired place to paint landed him in some trouble.

The 13-year-old male was apprehended by police after spray painting graffiti on the building of a business in Michigan. Cops were sent to the location on South Washington Street after calls came in on a recent Monday afternoon regarding a boy on a silver scooter who was not-so-discreetly painting on the business’s exterior wall.

The male was spotted running away from the scene on another nearby road. Witnesses claimed he still held the can of paint in his hand.

It didn’t take long for officers to catch up to the young suspect and it was pretty easy to tell they had the right boy. He was quite literally caught red-handed; the red paint was smeared all over the teen’s palms and fingers.

When police checked the building, they discovered fresh red paint coated the north side of the structure. While it is yet to be confirmed what punishment the boy will face, he could be charged with malicious destruction of property.
