New Battery Can Be Charged 1,000 Times Faster

A new battery can be charged 1,000 times faster.

Researchers from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana have developed a new kind of battery.

The battery is smaller, able to provide more power, and can charge as much as a thousand times faster than batteries currently on the market.

By changing the scale of the battery to a smaller size, researchers are hoping to bring batteries into the progressive field of microtechnology.

Professor William King, who led the project said: “You could replace your car battery with one of our batteries and it would be 10 times smaller, or 10 times more powerful. With that in mind you could jumpstart a car with the battery in your cell phone.”

King thinks that the batteries will be ready to use in one or two years, replacing batteries in radios and personal electronic devices.

One potential problem arises when the manufacturing of the batteries is scaled up to an industrial level.

The liquid electrolyte that is used in the battery is combustible, and in large amounts that could present the risk of explosion.

The researchers are planning to change the electrolyte to a safer one in future models.
