An elderly man initiates a lawsuit after allegedly taking too many supermarket samples.

A 68 year old retiree in Minnesota has filed a lawsuit over his arrest in a supermarket.

It all started back in 2010 when the male picked up a prescription at the supermarket and stopped at a lunch meat display handing out free samples.

The store guard caught the man allegedly shoving items in his pockets and followed him outside. He was told to empty everything out but he refused. A deputy arrived on scene and reportedly used force to handcuff the retiree.

According to a statement by the supermarket spokesperson, the man possessed about a dozen soy sauce packets, over half a pound of summer sausage, and a little under a pound of beef stick. He had also been observed by store personnel on other occasions taking approximately 20 cookies from the kids cookie plate.

Last year, two women who worked as independent contractors, handing out free samples, got into a fight at a Wal-Mart store. The ladies were handing out freebies in the produce section when an argument escalated over usage of a cutting board.

One woman became enraged and chased after her co-worker, pushing her in the fruit cooler. The suspect was arrested for battery.
