A Washington couple is in some serious trouble following a routine traffic stop.
28-year-old Anna Boyle was pulled over for speeding with her partner, Aaron Johnston in the passenger’s seat .
The officer immediately noted a smell of marijuana. When the trooper searched the car, he discovered more prescription drugs and paraphernalia including a tin can, pipes and a spoon with heroin remnants.
His next discovery was shocking. After hearing a noise from the back, he opened the trunk to discover three small kids, aged 8,7 and 5 along with a dog residing inside.
According to police, Boyle and Johnston later implied that the kids may have “crawled” back there. The children were all uninjured, but said that they had not eaten since the night before, so troopers bought them some food.
A police official states “We are so thankful this car was not involved in a collision and that they did not suffer from the heat being in a black car in the full sunshine on a warm day”. The couple was arrested and children are now in the hands of Child Protective Services.
