Marriage Conducted on Twitter - as part of the news series by GeoBeats.

When astronauts can send a tweet from space, it's absolutely plausible that you can get married using Twitter.

A Turkish mayor recently conducted a wedding ceremony online via Twitter.

The mayor, the bride and the groom, along with hundreds of friends and relatives, were actually in attendance at a restaurant. The mayor would ask questions on Twitter and the couple would tweet the responses using their iPads.

The guests watched the exchange of tweets on an LCD screen.

After the bride and groom both tweeted “I do”, they were handed their marriage certificate and and they officially became the first Turkish couple to be married using tweets.

Several years ago, another couple used Twitter during their marriage ceremony. They decided to tweet every moment of their wedding to allow the world to see their vows.

The couple's children were armed with computers, posting the prepared vows online at the pre-determined times. Not surprisingly, the groom had also tweeted his marriage proposal to the bride.

How do you feel about saying your 'I do' through a tweet?
