Wrong Number During Drug Deal Leads To Arrest - as part of the news series by GeoBeats.

It's usually not a big deal when we dial a wrong number but in this particular case, a wrong number call results in the arrest of four.

North Carolina Off duty police officer Jagger Naves was trying to get some sleep when his cell phone kept ringing. After ignoring the first three calls, he receives a voicemail from a woman yelling “This isn’t even a $10 rock. You need to make this right!” He decided to meet up with her and upon arriving she and her partner were arrested for possession of crack cocaine. During the arrest, one of the pair’s cell phones began ringing. The number on display was one number off from Officer Naves' phone number. Naves answered and set up a meeting with the caller which ended in the arrest of the drug supplier they were originally trying to reach.

In a similar incident, a California man inadvertently sent a Santa Maria Police officer several text messages trying to sell him methamphetamine. Upon receiving the offer and playing along as a customer, the officer then arranged a location and time to meet with the mysterious drug dealer and subsequently arrested the dealer as well as the supplier.
