Nutrition: Boosting Metabolism - as part of the expert series by GeoBeats. I get a lot of people coming into my office asking me, how do I boost my metabolism? Well, this is kind of like, how many calories are in that banana? It is one of those words that most people do not really understand what that means. So, I am going to give you a really quick little synopsis. It is actually really very simple. Metabolism equals every single reaction that happens in your body, whether it is building up or breaking down. You actually need to eat a healthy diet, and move your body through space. There is one trick I do know. This I am going to tell you, it is really really cool. 16 ounces of cool water. Not ice, not warm, cool water, 16 ounces. Glug, glug, glug, glug it. Do not sip it. There are two ways to drink water, there is the glug, glug glug, and the sip sip sip. This is the glug, glug version. Just down those 16 ounces. In the next hour and a half, your bodies ability to burn fuel, increases by approximately 30 percent. There is no supplement, no herb, no magic potion out there that you can drink, buy, pop, or chew that is going to do that. Yeah, there is certain supplements out on the market that can increase your "metabolic rate" by you know, roughly ten to fifteen percent. Nothing like 16 ounces of cool water. It is cheap, it is good for you, and it works.
