00:00A new way to wake up. Amy and Sean on 1027 VGS. All right, here's what you need to know in the
00:07news today. Station Casino has bought some new property on Las Vegas Boulevard. On Las Vegas
00:13Boulevard? No, I mean, not the Strip. It's a little further down. Farther, okay. So it's past
00:18South Point, between South Point and the M. Oh, wow, okay. It's at the corner of Las Vegas Boulevard
00:25and Cactus. Oh, gotcha, okay. So they have a whole bunch of land there already. They have
00:29like 57 acres or so. There's so much. Well, they own land everywhere. Yeah. They own land
00:36up in Sky Canyon. They own land near Linspirata. They own land, like they're prepared for the
00:40future. Right, honestly. Yeah, wherever the people will be. So they're shutting down Texas
00:43Station, Fiesta Rancho, Fiesta Henderson, gone, by, kaput. But they're going to be putting
00:48that money into over 120 acres at the corner of Cactus and Las Vegas Boulevard, potentially
00:53building something that is near the Strip, potentially catching people that are driving
00:57up the 15 that want a little bit of a cheaper option, potentially. Wow. Nice. That's very
01:03cool. I mean, it's close to you, the Durango one, right? That's so exciting. I remember when
01:08I moved here, January 06, you would see that sign. I used to live at Durango and Warm Springs
01:14and every day I would pass and be like, wow, that's going to be a hotel one day. And then
01:18I came back in 2010. Wow. Still not a hotel. I know. 2015. Wow. Still not a hotel. See,
01:24it's so crazy to me when I moved here in 2000, Red Rock was being built. Yes. Right where
01:29we move. We lived in Summerlin. So like, I thought it was the coolest thing. And wow,
01:35things happen so quickly here. Yeah. But then I saw downtown Summerlin in 2008 and I was
01:39like, wow, things move very, very slow around here. Yeah. Well, especially considering what
01:42happened. But Durango, yeah, that's going to be fantastic. It'll be awesome. Now this property
01:45there. So that's good. There's an eye towards the future. They had that land, by the way,
01:49for Durango for over two decades before they built. So this could be a long, long game.
01:54Speaking of casinos, especially ones that Station Casinos used to own, the Palms. Yeah.
01:59Ghost Bar coming back. That's exciting. An official date. Legendary. It really is. Johnny
02:05Katz at the RJ saying 55th floor going to be open a party on August 3rd. Wow. So, I mean,
02:11that view, you cannot beat it. I know. You literally can't beat it. It's so awesome.
02:14It's unreal. I hope this, like, I hope the Palms is, because when Stations bought it and
02:20it was the hit, it was the thing. They invested so much. So much money. And they did such a
02:25great job. I know. What happened? I don't, I don't know what happened. Even before the
02:30pandemic, like, it just wasn't hitting. I know. The club wasn't working. I think they
02:34spent too much money on the club. Way too much. The club was, it was going to be, it
02:39was going to be, it was chaos. It was amazing. The first, like, three weekends. And then
02:42it was like, eh, I don't know. My buddy was the executive chef over Green
02:46Street, which is, like, an amazing restaurant, by the way. So awesome. And yeah, the plans
02:51were so great. And by the end of it, they're like, oh, we'll just call it Soak. Just move
02:55the letters over so we can save some money. I know. Oh my gosh. So bad. So I hope, I hope
03:00the palms, because again, in 2006, when we moved here, that was the place to be. So
03:04I hope that this is going to stick. It's going to be great. And nobody is going to
03:09buy or sell it anymore. You know, just kind of let it be. The current, with the
03:13Sandman Well Casino, they own that now. And they are in. So like, we'll hopefully,
03:17you know, listen, we want everyone to succeed here. That'd be nice. And then
03:20finally, we hope this guy doesn't succeed. It says alleged, but he's saying in a
03:24police report that he did do it. So I guess it's not alleged, but I don't, I don't
03:28know. Alleged so we don't get sued. MGM Grand, that whole valet entrance, rock smash. Everyone
03:35thinks there's a gunman on the strip happened this past weekend. Well, Bradley Thompson in
03:40court for an initial hearing. He was the alleged rock thrower who said that he felt a little
03:47bit disrespected. And that's why he went back and smashed the window. I was actually at
03:53MGM just a couple of days ago. They have repaired the door. Oh, good, good, good. People
03:57out there on TikTok are still going to say it didn't happen. And he's a conspiracy. He's
04:00going to sacrifice himself to go to jail or something. I'm not kidding.
04:04It's the CIA.
04:05Yeah, yeah, yeah. He's part of the CIA.
04:07It's really, yeah, it's deep state. Deep state.
