00:00Stop doom scrolling. We did it for you. Here's what you need to know with Amy and Sean on 1027 VGS.
00:08Well, we all saw it coming. The water cuts are coming. We're in a level 2A shortage.
00:14The Fed's getting involved because none of the states involved could really come up to some sort of consensus about how to cut the water use.
00:21So here are the cuts that are happening. I think Mexico has to drop their use 7%.
00:27Okay. Arizona needs to drop their use 21%. California has to drop their use. Nothing.
00:37Yeah. So odd.
00:38Well, California negotiated years ago with Arizona. Like if it got to this point, Arizona would, they would have, they would have the brunt of the, of the, of the, they would have to take it all.
00:50So right now, Arizona, California doesn't have to stop using anything despite the fact that like just their almond crop uses all the water and then some that they get from the lake every year.
00:59Insane.
00:59Not that I'm bitter.
01:00Whatever the case, um, here in Nevada, it's an 8% cut.
01:04So right now we're entitled to 300,000 acre feet a year, but because we've been doing such a good job, we haven't been using nearly that.
01:11But we use 242,000 acre feet last year because we use the water, we clean it, we put it back in Lake Mead, we take it out, we clean it, we put it back in.
01:20Which really makes you a little bit ill.
01:23Yeah, for sure.
01:24This water has been put in the rain.
01:26Also, they found another body yesterday.
01:27Yeah.
01:28Like how many is that? What's the tally up to?
01:31Uh, a lot.
01:33Yeah.
01:33Over a handful of bodies for sure.
01:35A handful of bodies, several bodies full of bodies actually.
01:38Yeah.
01:39That said, uh, you know, the decorative grass is getting yanked.
01:42SNWA thinks we're actually going to be under last year's use despite the fact our population's going up.
01:47So, so far, you know, we're not, we're not losing pools yet.
01:51Well, the Raiders have paid for a lot of high schools to get the fake grass too.
01:55Yeah.
01:55For football fields.
01:56Pretty cool.
01:56Kind of needs to happen.
01:57So there we go.
01:59Uh, that water could have gone to great use over at the MSG sphere yesterday.
02:04Metro, in one of their choppers, noticed that there was smoke coming from the MSG sphere.
02:08A new Pope was not being elected.
02:11The Clark County Fire Department showed up.
02:13The staff there, the, the construction, they had no idea that there was a fire on the top.
02:17They go up, there's an electrical fire, put it out.
02:19Ball is saved.
02:20Crazy.
02:21There it is.
02:21Could you, could you imagine?
02:23That's like, I mean, I am, and put it, putting that towards like when I build Legos with Roman and he knocks them down.
02:31And I'm like, I just put those together.
02:35Or when you put all the toys away and somebody throws them all out.
02:38If you build a sphere and then it burns to the ground and you have to burn, you have to build it again.
02:43That sphere's costing as much as a Legion stadium.
02:45Gosh.
02:45It really is.
02:46That's crazy.
02:47We just have to.
02:47That would be, it would just be a Jerry Lee Lewis.
02:54We're just going to have a great balls of fire.
02:57There we go.
02:59We'll make something out of it.
03:00Yeah.
03:01Just a big old burning ball.
03:03Right.
03:03Here he goes.
03:05Gosh.
03:06I love the internet.
03:07And then finally, the Oakland A's, this like long flirting thing is continuing to happen.
03:12They were just in town talking to Phil Ruffin, who was just in Oakland at the beginning of the month, talking to the A's.
03:19Phil Ruffin owns the TI, owns Circus Circus, and he also owns the Las Vegas Festival Grounds at the corner of the Strip and Sahara.
03:25He's pitching that for a potential site for the stadium if they do come here.
03:29Crazy.
03:30We'll take them, right?
03:31But it's just, gosh.
03:33And we just have to remember how long it took for the whole Raider thing to happen.
03:38And then all of a sudden it was like, bam.
03:39It was quick.
03:40I mean, there was talks for, there was talks for a long time though.
03:44So, there's still hope.
03:45I mean, as long as the, because the owner is well known for being cheap.
03:50Uh-huh.
03:50And I just hope that's.
03:51You don't say.
03:52I mean, look at.
03:53Wow.
03:53Yeah.
03:54I mean, brutal.
03:55The aviators, they outdraw them.
03:58They have nicer facilities by a long shot.
04:02Maybe, just maybe, he will invest if he comes to pay.
04:04Yeah.
