00:00It's important to the construction industry in the Philippines
00:03because it's not just an infrastructure,
00:06but it's a sustainable development for our country.
00:10One thing is, the company in this area is the construction business of Hans Chan.
00:17So, to know what's the inspiration behind his own life,

00:33Nag-start kami in 1992 pa.
00:36And we're a tie-up company with a Japanese company.
00:38And we are catering mostly to fabricators.
00:41So, puro raw materials ang binabenta namin sa market.
00:45And then, 2018, nag-diversify kami.
00:48That's the time when I saw an opportunity where we can build structures quickly.
00:53Kasi nakikita natin, pag gagawa ka ng structure,
00:56gamit nila, karamihan concrete, I-beams,
00:59ang daming skilled laborers, ang daming heavy equipment.
01:02But with this, with this system, gamit mo lang hand tool.
01:05Basically, ang gamit mo lang is bare na lang to build the whole structure.
01:09Nung nag-take over ka, ano ba yung mga struggles and challenges mo,
01:13if you would recall, na na-encounter mo while building this business?
01:16Well, of course, iba yung management style ng father ko and our generation.
01:21Yung sa father ko, he started the business.
01:24So, he has certain ways na minsan nakikita ako that we can do it differently.
01:29So, that was a challenge for me because of the transition.
01:32Kung baga, there's a transitional stage from that aspect.
01:35So, what is one thing that you have learned that you still carry up to now
01:39na ina-apply mo while doing this business or while managing this business?
01:43It's important for us to have focus. Yan ang turo sa amin ng father ko.
01:48He always tells us, be two steps ahead.
01:51Two steps ahead in terms of anything in life.
01:54In terms of how you market your products.
01:57In terms of how you advertise.
01:59How you compete with your competitors.
02:01Nung bata pa kami, exposed kami sa business.
02:04Kasi pag-summer, pupunta kami sa office.
02:08Tapos, kahit yung mga simple tasks lang.
02:11Nagbibilang ng supli.
02:13Tapos, binibigay sa customer.
02:15These are very simple tasks that I think it helps us to develop our people skills
02:21and also our skills on how to do business.
02:25So, I think it's very memorable for me.
02:28Kasi, not only do I learn about business, I also get to bond with my parents.
02:32We know that in every business, it's always, you know, there's a cutthroat competition.
02:36That's inevitable.
02:38So, can you share with us your unique selling proposition?
02:42Ang advantage namin, gawa siya ng Pinoy.
02:44It's locally made.
02:46It's locally made that we can actually prefab the structure.
02:49Within two weeks, ma-fabricate namin, ma-deliver na namin.
02:52Mas mabilis siya, at the same time, mas matibay siya.
02:56Compared to conventional and then dun sa containers.
02:59So, mas maganda siya and mas affordable and good quality at the same time.
03:04So, sa mga kanegosyo natin, Sir Hans, bakit ba importante yung mag-negosyo o mag-business ang bawat mamamayang Pilipino?
03:12Dahil sa negosyo, very important na it enhances your skill set.
03:18So, not only in selling, it also enhances how you do, you talk to people, how you also do your accounting.
03:26So, in all facets of life, you get to learn a lot of things in business.
03:30And you can also do apply it in your personal life.
03:33Huwag kang sumuko sa iyong mga pangarap.
03:43Dahil ang bawat pagkakamali ay nagbibigay sa iyo ng pagkakataon na mag-umpisa muli.
