00:00In Venezuela, a new flight carrying repatriate migrants arrived at the Simon Bolivar International
00:15Airport in Maiketia, in the state of La Guaida, through the Back to the Homeland government
00:20plan.
00:24Teachers' unions in Panama are holding an 48-hour national strike against the approved
00:29law 462 of the Social Security Fund.
00:37Nations worldwide are reacting to the newly announced set of tariffs imposed by U.S. President
00:42Donald Trump on Wednesday.
00:49Hello and welcome to From the South, I'm Ana Marrero from the Telesur headquarters
00:54in Caracas, Venezuela.
00:55William with the news, stay with us.
01:08In Venezuela, a new flight carrying repatriate migrants arrived at the Simon Bolivar International
01:13Airport in Maiketia, in the state of La Guaida, through the Back to the Homeland government
01:17plan.
01:18The flight arriving from Mexico was received by the Venezuelan Minister of Interior Relations
01:23Justice and Peace Giselle Cabello, who welcomed the 313 people, among them 151 children, 102
01:31women and 60 men.
01:33In this context, Cabello emphasized that different security and child protection agencies, as
01:39well as medical agencies, were present at the airport.
01:42The flight is part of the government's commitment to the safe return of nationals in the massive
01:49deportations campaign being carried out by the U.S. administration of Donald Trump.
01:56Likewise, the Minister of Interior Relations Justice and Peace of Venezuela, Giselle Cabello,
02:05highlighted that this flight, when 1,610 Venezuelans arrived, had already returned to the country
02:14under the Return to the Homeland plan.
02:20It is a flight that, with this one, 1,610 Venezuelans have been transferred from the
02:26United States, because those who are in Mexico are not really in Mexico.
02:31They return from the United States to Mexico and we have been doing that work and we hope
02:36to see the regularization.
02:38As of last week, they have already started to regularize.
02:42There is a flight today from Mexico, then there is a flight where we are going to take
02:46the comrades in Honduras directly from the United States to Honduras and tomorrow morning,
02:52as the President announced, there will be a direct flight from the United States.
02:57The Return to the Homeland plan, a policy of the Venezuelan state so that the Venezuelan
03:02citizens, wherever they are, can return to our country with the guarantees of a state
03:07that takes care of them, with the guarantees of a state that reviews each case individually
03:12and in a particular way.
03:17In this context, El Salvador demands that they kidnap Venezuelans.
03:27We continue to demand, from here in Venezuela, raising our voices, demanding that the government
03:33of El Salvador, which has kidnapped, the government of El Salvador, of Mr. Nayib Bukele, that
03:39has kidnapped the Venezuelans, return us our children, the children that you and the
03:43government of the United States had kidnapped there, in an arbitrary manner.
03:48They have not committed any crime in El Salvador.
03:51Not a single crime, they cannot be judged in El Salvador because they have not committed
03:55any crime in El Salvador and, if they committed a crime in the United States, it is up to
04:01the government of the United States to judge them, to submit them to the justice of the
04:05United States, it is the arbitrariness of those who assume themselves to be the owners
04:10of the world.
04:11El Salvador experts and activists denounce that the Trump and Bukele administrations
04:16have violated international human rights law by withholding information about Venezuelan
04:22citizens kidnapped in that country.
04:25Organizations such as Cristosal, with over 25 years of experience in the defense of human
04:31rights, point out that Washington and San Salvador do not conceal law-official data
04:36on the Venezuelans deported from the U.S. and incarcerate directly to the sacred prison.
04:43They further label such actions as flagrant violations perpetrated by both governments,
04:49which might be judged as forced disappearance, acts of torture, and even extrajudicial execution
04:56offenses.
04:57Argentine President Javier Millet will face a class action lawsuit in the U.S. for his
05:11involvement in the Libra Crypto Scam.
05:14The former federal prosecutor for the Department of Justice, Timothy Traynor, will file the
05:20class action lawsuit in federal court in New York.
05:23The president is accused of being a necessary participant in the fraud involving the Libra
05:28cryptocurrency, which was prompted on February 14.
05:33The complaint alleges that he was instrumental in manipulating the market, causing an estimate
05:40of $250 million in losses to investors.
05:48The former prosecutor argues that the president's influence and his public announcements were
05:54crucial.
05:55The lawsuit not only seeks justice for fraud and market manipulation, but could also invoke
06:00the R.I.C.H. Act, which targets organized crime activities.
06:12In Chile, workers' union organizations call for a national strike to demand better working
06:17conditions and equality of life for the devastated disadvantaged sectors.
06:23The Workers' United Center informed that a date of mobilizations will take place in
06:28all the regions with the participation of different social sectors, including at least
06:3316 organizations affiliated to the federation.
06:37Protests are carried out as a pressure measure to build up better the development of the
06:43country and not as an economic indicator.
06:47The call also demands the negotiation of a 40-hour workweek in the public sector.
06:58Teachers unions in Panama are holding a 48-hour national strike against the approval of 162
07:04of the social security fund.
07:06The strike, called the Teachers' Action Front, rejects the government's promoted initiative,
07:13which establishes the privatization of the public entity that serves retirees and the
07:19theft of its resources to be handed over to the banks, in addition to raising the retirement
07:26age and thus allowing the access to pensions, for the duration of the strike partners were
07:33asked not to send their children to school.
07:37The action is also aimed at denouncing the relocation of shelters to other companies
07:44in the Rio Indio area, where the government wants to be all reserved for that, actually,
07:50for the benefit of the Panamacano, but without the concerns of the indigenous peoples and peasants.

08:26Welcome back to From the South.
08:28Following U.S. President Donald Trump's tariff measures, strike markers around the world
08:33plummeted.
08:34In Europe, the Milan Stock Exchange fell by 2.84%, followed by the Frankfurt Stock Exchange,
08:43with more than 2.77 percentage points, while the Paris Stock Exchange fell by as much as
08:502.14%.
08:51Meanwhile, in Asia, the Tokyo Stock Exchange fell by as much as 2.77%, while in Hong Kong
09:00it lost 1.69% of its value.
09:04Experts estimate a possible increase of at least 3% in global inflation, in addition
09:10to fueling the uncertainty in the international economy.
09:15Trump decides to impose tariffs of at least 10% on all countries and a higher percentage
09:21on partner countries, declaring a trade war on the world with higher import taxes in the
09:26century.
09:29The president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, dedicated a few minutes in the middle of an
09:37agenda that prioritizes the growth of the country and the rescue of Venezuelan migrants
09:42persecuted by the regional extremists, to refer to the newly announced U.S. tariffs.
09:47In this regard, the head of state assured that Washington has declared economic war
09:51on the world with the help of Anna Allen, in the specific case of the Bolivarian nation
09:57and of extreme right-wing leader María Corina Machado.
10:01He denounced how those radical sectors promote foreign punishment and damages against Venezuela.
10:09In this context, the president emphasized that while some impose or promote sanctions
10:15against the country, the government's economic plan for the threatening of production, supply
10:21and export in different sectors is moving forward.
10:27On Thursday, during her morning press conference, the Mexican president, Claudia Sheinbaum,
10:36welcomed the exclusion of her country from the new set of U.S. tariffs imposed on several
10:42countries.
10:43Sheinbaum highlighted good relations her nation has built with the government of the U.S.,
10:48which she stressed is based on respect for their people and their national sovereignty,
10:55which she states allow for Mexico to avoid additional tariffs.
10:59It is worth recalling that President Trump has previously introduced a 25 percent tax
11:05on Mexico's exports, but explained that Mexico will not have to pay tariffs on goods
11:10included in the United States-Mexico-Canada agreement, the T-MEC.
11:15In this regard, Mexican Secretary of Commerce Marcelo Ebrard added the country will ask
11:21for better conditions for aluminum and steel.
11:34In the case of Mexico, there are no additional tariffs, nor for Canada, although in the case
11:48of Canada they make some specifications.
11:54And that is good for the country, for Mexico, although some do not want to recognize it.
12:06This is due to the good relationship that we have built between the government of Mexico
12:11and the government of the United States, which is based on respect.
12:18And on Thursday, in response to the U.S. economic measure, Canadian Prime Minister
12:22Mark Carney announced a 25 percent tariff on all vehicles imported from the U.S. that
12:28are not compliant with the U.S.-Mexico-Canada agreement on free trade.
12:34Announcing that the government of Canada will be responding by matching the U.S. approach,
12:41with 25 percent tariffs on all vehicles imported from the United States that are not compliant
12:47with CUSMA, our North American Free Trade Agreement, and on the non-Canadian content
12:55of CUSMA-compliant vehicles from the United States as well.
12:59Our tariffs, though, unlike the U.S. tariffs, will not affect auto parts, because we know
13:05the benefits of our integrated production system.
13:10And they will also not affect vehicle content from Mexico, who is respecting the CUSMA agreement.
13:15In these contexts, on Thursday the government of Spain unveiled its plan to implement a
13:2015.6 billion dollar suspending package to mitigate the negative effects of the newly
13:26imposed U.S. tariff.
13:29We are going to deploy our plan that we have called the Trade Response and Relaunch Plan,
13:34designed to mitigate the negative impacts of this trade war initiated by the Trump administration
13:39and weave a shield to protect our economy, so that if the storm is unleashed, Spain will
13:46have a double umbrella, the European umbrella and the Spanish umbrella.
13:53This plan is going to mobilize a total of 14.1 billion euros.
14:01For his part, Irish Premier Michael Martin underscored the unjustified nature of the
14:06new tariffs, touching on their negative impact, on the people vowing to reflect on a response
14:13to the measures together with the European Union partners.
14:19I deeply regret the United States' decision to impose 20% tariffs on imports from across
14:26the European Union.
14:28We see no justification for this.
14:31More than 4.2 billion worth of goods and services are traded between the European Union and
14:36the U.S. daily.
14:39Disrupting this deeply integrated relationship with tariffs and increased protectionism benefits
14:46no one.
14:48Tariffs drive inflation, hurting people on both sides of the Atlantic, and they put jobs
14:54at risk.
14:56We will now reflect with our European Union partners on how best to respond.
15:01It is important that our response is considered and measured.
15:08On Thursday, China urged the United States to immediately cancel the tariff measures
15:13imposed against it and warns of a forceful response in defense of the country's interests.
15:20Throughout communiqué, the Minister of Commerce denounced that the Trump administration's
15:24measures violate international trade rules and seriously harm the legitimate rights and
15:30interests of the parties involved.
15:32Beijing demanded the repeal of the unilateral measures and to choose the diplomatic path
15:39to resolve the differences.
15:41The Chinese office assured that its partners in the U.S. have expressed deep concern and
15:47strong dissatisfaction.
15:50President Donald Trump, as he did in his first term, imposed a 54% tariff on products from
15:58China.
16:07In this context, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce spokesperson, He Jiadong, assured these measures
16:17hindered the production and supply chain between the United States and other regions and called
16:23on the Western government to jointly resolve concerns through dialogue.
16:28The U.S. measures artificially sever the production and supply chains between the
16:35U.S. and other regions.
16:37This neither contributes to the so-called national security nor helps the U.S. domestic
16:42industry.
16:43It will only highlight the unilateralism, protectionism and bullying nature of the U.S.
16:48measures.
16:50The Economic and Trade Departments of China and the U.S. have been maintaining communication.
16:56China is willing to exchange views with the U.S. on important issues in the economic and
17:00trade fields of the two countries and resolve their respective concerns through equal dialogue
17:05and consultation.

19:38This Thursday, Prime Minister Viktor Orban's chief of staff, Gertrude Gulyas, announced
19:44that Hungary has decided to withdraw from the International Criminals Court.
19:49The measure was taken after the Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, who has arrested
19:53Warren from the court for genocide against the Palestinian people, arrived in Hungarian
19:58territory on a state visit.
20:00The Hungarian Prime Minister called the order against his counterpart outrageously rancid
20:08and cynical, adding that he is concerned firmly for Israel and condemned any attempt
20:14to policize international institutions.
20:23U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and the Permanent U.S. Representative to NATO, Matthew
20:28Jader, were tickered arrive on Thursday in Brussels to hold talks on security and defense
20:35affairs with European NATO members.
20:38European leaders will attend the upcoming meeting with U.S. officials in their attempts
20:44to defuse tensions raised by tariffs, impositions and funding cuts.
20:49Earlier on, New Zealand in a statement was tickered urging the islands to prioritize
20:55peace, security and rebuilding Ukraine, while the authorities ensure that NATO's viability
21:02will rely on each ally to endure the further share.
21:07Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump negotiated with Russia a ceasefire deal on Ukraine and
21:12cut military provisions and funds to Europe, the leader for the remissed Canada and the
21:18mercenaries for their riches.
21:20In addition, Trump imposed tariffs to NATO states as well.
21:32Moving on, in Myanmar on Thursday, the second batch of disaster relief supplies from the
21:47Chinese government arrived in Ganga as part of an effort of eight efforts following the
21:51recent earthquake.
21:53The package includes tents, blankets, biscuits, bottled waters and other essential materials.
21:59The first batch of relief supplies was offered by the Chinese government in Richmond on Sunday.
22:05In this context, it is worth highlighting that multiple Chinese rescue teams have arrived
22:10in the country to serve the stricken areas, working with local responders to search for
22:16survivors.
22:17The magnitude 7.9 earthquake that hit the nation on Friday has reportedly left a total
22:24of 3,085 and 4,715 people injured and 341 reported missing people.
22:38Also in Myanmar, the Russian rescuers deployed by the Ministry of Emergency Situations are
22:45providing medical help to earthquake victims.
22:48The brigade has set up a mobile hospital where more than 65 injured people were sought
22:54help in the last three days, also tackling the outbreak of chronic diseases in the rubble
22:59left by the seismic.
23:02Russia deployed more than 120 rescue workers, ambulances and equipment to Myanmar's capital
23:08to assist in search and rescue operations following the quake.
