00:00Yeah, I mean, it's really come as quite a shock to me that there is this level of really hatred and violence from the left.
00:10I always thought the left, the Democrats, were supposed to be the party of empathy, the party of caring.
00:17And yet they're burning down cars, they're firebombing dealerships, they're firing bullets into dealerships, they're just, you know, smashing up Teslas.
00:27Tesla is a peaceful company, we've never done anything harmful. I've never done anything harmful, I've only done productive things.
00:34So, I think we just have a deranged, there's some kind of mental illness thing going on here, because this doesn't make any sense.
00:44And I think there are larger forces at work as well, I mean, I don't know who's funding it and who's coordinating it, because this is crazy, I've never seen anything like this.
00:53Tell you what, it's always the people who have the most who somehow view themselves as the biggest victims.
00:59Here Elon Musk is blaming half the country for the fact that a random person reportedly set Teslas on fire in Las Vegas.
01:05Now, a few things here. First, Elon says that it's shocking that there's this level of violence and hatred from the left.
01:11Again, it wasn't the left that set these Teslas on fire in Vegas, it was reportedly one person.
01:16But I do find it curious that suddenly, violence is considered bad again for the Republican Party,
01:22a position that was conveniently discarded when a bunch of Trump supporters were bashing in windows to the US Capitol and bludgeoning police officers on January 6th.
01:30All incited by the guy, who Elon Musk himself spent a quarter of a billion dollars electing to the presidency.
01:37So perhaps he would have a little more success in pretending that he dislikes violence, if he didn't tie his fortunes to the biggest instigator of it.
01:43And then Elon says, I thought that the left was supposed to be the party of empathy and caring.
01:48Let me ask you all, do you realize why the left, the party of empathy and caring, dislikes Elon Musk?
01:55It's because his first act as shadow president was to block the very first spending bill in December,
02:00and the new bill that replaced it literally no longer included funding for childhood cancer research.
02:05Unsurprisingly, Musk opted not to rail against that bill.
02:09It's that his next act was to dismantle USAID, which for only half of 1% of the budget,
02:15delivers food and clean water to the impoverished, and does HIV prevention work where it's needed most.
02:20It's because his next act was to gut the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau,
02:24which exists solely to help Americans recover money from predatory financial institutions that have defrauded them.
02:30It's because his administration is demanding $880 billion in cuts to Medicaid,
02:34and $230 billion in cuts to food stamps, which are final lifelines for these people who need it most.
02:41It's because veterans are getting fired by the thousands.
02:44It's because education funding is being slashed, healthcare is being cut, climate initiatives are being cut,
02:49and yet Musk himself is somehow benefiting more and more and more from these government contracts.
02:55So when Musk wonders why the party of empathy and caring doesn't like him,
02:59it is precisely because they are the party of empathy and caring.
03:02In fact, Musk goes on to say that he's never done anything harmful, he's only been productive.
03:08Now, I truly don't know whether he is being ignorant or lying, but either way, the delusion is beyond apparent.
03:15Since he's taken over, he has acted in such a way that would give him, almost unilaterally,
03:20more political and financial advantage by eliminating all regulations that would rein him and his companies in.
03:26For example, the FAA had several open investigations into Tesla,
03:29and the FAA had recently ordered SpaceX to carry out a formal investigation
03:33into the loss of a Starship vehicle during a test flight,
03:36and previously ordered over $630,000 in civil penalties against SpaceX.
03:41And now, all of that goes away.
03:44But sure, he's never done anything harmful, only productive.
03:47I've gone through this list before, so I apologize if you've heard it, but it is 100% worth repeating.
03:52At USAID, which again, our first target of Doge,
03:55the inspector general had already initiated a probe into Starlink satellite terminals in the Russia-Ukraine war.
04:01That inspector general was fired, and the investigation shut down.
04:04But again, Elon's never done anything harmful, only productive.
04:08Or how about the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau?
04:10Consumers submitted over 300 complaints about Tesla to the CFPB,
04:14and yet, Trump fired CFPB director Rohit Chandra,
04:17and installed Project 2025 architect Russ Vogt as the bureau's acting director.
04:21Musk himself tweeted,
04:23delete CFPB less than a week after the agency finalized a rule
04:27that could put his planned collaboration with Visa
04:29to offer a real-time payment system on the platform into the agency's crosshairs.
04:33In fact, here's Elizabeth Warren drawing that link quite clearly.
04:37Elon Musk, as you know, he bought Twitter,
04:40and he's just lost money hand over fist on that investment.
04:44So he's had a better idea, better from his perspective,
04:47and that is he's going to do X money.
04:48And the idea here is he's going to be everything on the financial side
04:55and social side for everybody in the country,
04:58maybe around the world, if he gets the chance.
05:01There's just one bump in the way,
05:05and that's the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
05:08It's not that they say no,
05:10you can go ahead and build a new tech platform, a financial system, good for you.
05:14But you've got to follow the basic rules
05:16of not cheating people, not lying to people,
05:19and not sucking up their personal data and selling it to somebody else.
05:23He doesn't like that.
05:25So he's announced he's going to do X.
05:28What a great idea.
05:30Move the bump out of the way before you start.
05:33It's a little like a bank robber saying,
05:36before I go into the lobby with my sacks that I'm ready to fill up,
05:41I'm just going to fire the cops.
05:42And now I'll go in and take the money.
05:46But again, Elon's never done anything harmful, only productive.
05:50Or how about the Department of Labor,
05:52which oversees the National Labor Relations Board,
05:54the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs,
05:56and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission,
05:58all of which had over a dozen open investigations into Tesla and SpaceX
06:02regarding alleged unfair labor practices, safety violations,
06:06and discriminatory work practices.
06:08And in response, well, Trump fired the Department of Labor Inspector General,
06:11the chair of the NLRB,
06:13blocked their ability to rule on cases,
06:15gutted the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs via executive order,
06:18which prevented their investigation's findings about Tesla from being made public,
06:22and for good measure,
06:24fired two of the three Democratic commissioners
06:26on the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
06:28Again, Elon's never done anything harmful, only productive.
06:32The EPA had multiple lawsuits against Tesla
06:34over violations of the Clean Air Act and hazardous waste laws
06:37at the company's automotive manufacturing plant in Fremont, California,
06:40Trump fired the Inspector General.
06:42The FEC was set to rule on a number of complaints
06:44filed during the 2024 election cycle,
06:46including complaints regarding Musk's AmericaPak,
06:49so Trump illegally removed the FEC chair from her post.
06:52The Department of the Interior runs the Fish and Wildlife Service,
06:55which Musk has repeatedly clashed with.
06:57Trump fired the DOI Inspector General.
07:00The DOJ filed a lawsuit in 2023 against SpaceX
07:03for allegedly engaging in hiring discrimination
07:05and investigations into whether Tesla had been candid
07:08in describing the features of its vehicles.
07:10Trump has since remade the DOJ in his image.
07:13The SEC sued Twitter in January,
07:15alleging Musk misled shareholders
07:17about his Twitter stock purchases in 2022
07:19and ordered Musk to pay the federal government
07:21as much as $150 million.
07:23Trump has since pushed out the SEC chair,
07:25leaving the agency with a Republican majority.
07:28In each of these instances,
07:30the principal beneficiary isn't some nebulous concept
07:33of waste, fraud and abuse, as Musk loves to claim.
07:36It is Elon Musk himself.
07:38He is getting rid of the cops
07:40to regulate his own business interests
07:42and branding this as a win for the American people,
07:45all the while claiming that he's never done anything harmful,
07:48only productive.
07:50So look, I am not advocating for the destruction of any property,
07:53regardless of which side of the aisle you're on,
07:55but the victimhood shtick is getting old.
07:57Elon loves to frame himself as some beacon of virtue,
08:00but he's either lying to himself or lying to you.
08:03Just like Trump, this is another thin-skinned billionaire
08:06who feels like he's getting the short end of the stick,
08:07all the while he is literally the reason
08:10that people won't get healthcare,
08:12that people won't get clean water or food,
08:14that people won't get education, won't have jobs,
08:16won't get relief from predatory banks.
08:18But hey, at least Tesla and SpaceX
08:20will get hefty government contracts,
08:22despite constant assurances, by the way,
08:24of no conflicts of interest.
08:26This whole charade is as tired as it is transparent.
08:29Elon Musk is interested in helping one person,
08:31and that's Elon Musk.
08:33The only way you could miss it
08:35is if you're burying your head in the sand.

08:48But second, the reality is that we're now
08:50in a political environment where this administration
08:52can lean on any of the social media platforms
08:54to suppress certain voices
08:56if they don't like critical coverage.
08:58That means my longevity here
09:00is in the hands of a few tech billionaires
09:02who are already making it clear
09:04that they're willing to cater to this White House.
09:05Signing up for my newsletter
