00:00Now, I know that we live in a post-shame world, but if I posted what Donald Trump just posted

00:05online, I would probably want the earth to open up and swallow me whole.

00:10He took to Truth Social, writing, I just won the golf club championship, probably my last,

00:14at Trump International Golf Club in Palm Beach County, Florida.

00:17Such a great honor.

00:18The awards dinner is tonight at the club.

00:20I want to thank my wonderful golf staff and all of the many fantastic golfers that participated

00:23in the event.

00:25Such fun.

00:26How about that?

00:27What are the odds that the guy who owns the golf club would also just so happen to win

00:32the golf championship?

00:33I'll tell you what, I'm just really heartened and encouraged to know that all of his hard

00:38work paid off when it mattered most.

00:40Nothing like winning in front of a home team crowd because you put in the hard work and

00:44gave it your all and definitely, totally did not just declare yourself victor by royal

00:49fiat.

00:51And if the serendipity of Donald Trump having won this golf tournament wasn't enough, you'll

00:55be floored to hear that this isn't even the first time.

00:58In fact, and I hope you're sitting down for this, Donald Trump wins every time.

01:04According to Palm Beach Post, Trump claiming to win his own tournament has become a tradition.

01:08Two years ago, he declared he won a club championship when he didn't play the first round.

01:12According to reports, Trump told tournament organizers he played a strong round two days

01:16before the tournament started and decided that would count as his Saturday score for

01:20the club championship.

01:21Later that year, Trump posted that he won senior club championship at his club in Bedminster,

01:25New Jersey with a 67.

01:27That same month, Live Golf had an event at the same course, and of the 144 rounds, only

01:32six Live Golfers shot 67 or lower.

01:35A year ago, he boasted of adding two more championships to his long list, saying on

01:39social media he won not only the club championship, but also the senior club championship at his

01:43course near West Palm Beach.

01:45On that night, he was awarded the 2024 Trump International Golf Club Most Improved Player

01:49at the Banquet.

01:50The award was presented by Jack Nicklaus.

01:53In January, a photo of the scores of the 11 contestants in the senior club championship

01:56at his course outside of West Palm Beach appeared on Instagram, showing Trump four shots ahead

02:00of the field.

02:01Those scores were posted at the course, yet nobody claims to have witnessed Trump play,

02:05and it was reported nobody knew he had played in the tournament until his name was spotted

02:09atop of the leaderboard.

02:11And according to reports, when Trump's name appeared at the top, it caused surprise among

02:15attendees and followers of the event.

02:17See, the thing about having shame is that most of us would be incapable of what Donald

02:22Trump is doing here, because the obviousness of this ploy would be deeply embarrassing.

02:27But when you aren't capable of shame, as Donald Trump isn't, then you can go out

02:30with a straight face and continue claiming that you are winning golf tournament after

02:33golf tournament after golf tournament, even when this is the kind of golfer that you are.

02:51And if this brand of world leader very believably dominating at sports looks familiar, that's

02:56because it is.

02:57Now, let's think for a moment about who it is that Trump wants to emulate more than

03:01anybody in the world, who also just so happens to frame himself as an elite athlete.

03:49You know how many goals Vladimir Putin scored in that hockey game?

04:09I shit you not, eight.

04:12Eight goals in one game.

04:13I mean, what are the odds that you would be both the president of a country and an athletic

04:18phenom?

04:19I mean, honestly, some people can just do it all.

04:22And of course, it goes without saying, but my deepest sympathies to those Russian goalies

04:26in previous games who blocked Vladimir Putin shots and just so happened to also fall out

04:31of 11 story windows or get served polonium laced tea.

04:36Just some real bad luck, I guess, huh?

04:38But I got to say, the best part of Putin scoring eight goals in one game is how he celebrated,

04:44which is to say, by getting really familiar with the ice.

04:51And of course, for those who don't know, that carpet also would end up falling out of an

05:0611 story window after drinking polonium laced tea.

05:10And look, is any of this important?

05:12Other than showing just how deeply full of shit Donald Trump is for anybody who actually

05:16still thinks he's a good faith actor?

05:18No, not really.

05:19And so while I have your attention, let's instead focus on what is important.

05:24And that is the fact that while Trump promised you all that he would start on day one, his

05:27words, not mine, on lowering your costs, the cost of groceries, of housing, of rent, of

05:33eggs, the reality is that prices have only surged.

05:37The stock market has crashed and we are now on the brink of an economic recession.

05:41And what's his priority?

05:42The guy is literally golfing of the 55 days that he's been in office.

05:47So far, 16 of those days have been spent on the golf course.

05:50Let's do a thought experiment here.

05:52If Joe Biden was presiding over your 401k crashing on a daily basis and he was on the

05:58golf course for 30 percent of his presidency, do you think Trump himself might have something

06:03to say about that?

06:04Do you think Republicans more broadly would have something to say?

06:07Do you think Fox News would have something to say?

06:10Take all the time you need with that one.

06:12And aside from golfing, the reality is that Donald Trump has spent more time making sure

06:15that Elon's finances are okay than the rest of this country's voters combined.

06:20We haven't seen a single bill, a single executive order, a single move that would help stem

06:26the bleeding of our dying economy and stock market and actually deliver some relief.

06:31And yet you know what he did have time to do?

06:32So all these cars won incredible awards.

06:33So they're great cars and they're American made.

06:34And I think, you know, try it.

06:35You'll like it.

06:36And as you say, beyond the cars, they're great, but we have to celebrate somebody that

06:45has the courage to do this.

06:47He could have said, I'm not doing anything, I'm not going to get involved, let the country

06:50go to hell.

06:51He didn't want to do that.

06:52And remember, he's going to find and we're up to almost $500 billion worth of waste and

06:59fraud.

07:00And if he has 500 billion, we give we give him two billion here, two billion and not

07:05millions.

07:06If it was a million dollars or two million dollars, that's a lot of money.

07:10But we're talking about billions of dollars being given to defunct scams, given to people

07:18with no with nothing, they have nothing going.

07:21They open up a subchapter S corporation and they put two billion dollars into it from

07:26nowhere.

07:27The reality is that Trump is broadcasting who he is in office to help, but it's not

07:31you.

07:32He's had ample opportunity to show you that he understands the pain that Americans are

07:35feeling right now.

07:36And instead, he's actually exacerbating the problem by launching trade wars and imposing

07:41tariffs left and right.

07:43This is the first economic downturn in U.S. history that is both completely voluntary

07:48and avoidable and owed exclusively to the actions of one person.

07:53And the Republican Party collectively is too chicken shit to do a single thing about it,

07:57even as their constituents continue to feel the pain, meaning that we are left watching

08:01this wannabe dictator spend his days beefing up Tesla's bottom line as a favorite to the

08:05world's richest man or enjoying himself on the golf course while the rest of us watch

08:10our savings go down the toilet on a daily basis.

08:13If that doesn't tell you who he and the broader GOP are working for, I don't know what will.
