00:00Good afternoon from Pag-asa Weather Forecasting Center.
00:03This is our update on what's to come in the next 24 hours.
00:08We will see here in our latest satellite images,
00:11the clouds that are affecting the southern portion of our country
00:16is the continued warming of the shoreline
00:19due to the hot and cold winds.
00:21Because of the shoreline, we expect the rains in a large part of Visayas,
00:27here in the Bicol region and in the Dinagat Islands.
00:31Because of the easterlies or the hot winds from the Pacific Ocean,
00:35we also expect the scattered rains that will fall
00:39in some areas of Mindanao,
00:41particularly here in the southern portion of Mindanao,
00:45in the regions of Davao region,
00:47in the parts of Soxargen, Barm, Zamboanga Peninsula,
00:51as well as here in the area of Palawan.
00:54Because of the north-east monsoon or the cold winds,
00:57we will experience clouds and thunderstorms
01:00in the eastern section of Luzon,
01:02here in the area of Cagayan Valley, Apayaw, Aurora, and Quezon.
01:06For Metro Manila and the rest of the country,
01:08the weather will continue to change,
01:10aside from the chance of light rains or thunderstorms
01:14in Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon,
01:16and the chance of thunderstorms here in the rest of Mindanao.
01:20At the moment, we are not yet monitoring the low-pressure area
01:23or the bad weather inside and outside of our PAR
01:27where there might be a storm the next few days.
01:30And for the location of tomorrow's weather here in Luzon,
01:34we are still monitoring the effect of the shoreline
01:36here in the northern part of southern Luzon,
01:39so this area of Bicol region,
01:42or most of Bicol region,
01:43will experience scattered thunderstorms.
01:46Because of the north-east monsoon or the cold winds,
01:49we are still expecting cloudiness and rain in the eastern section of Luzon,
01:53here in the areas of Cagayan Valley, Apayaw, Aurora, and Quezon.
01:58The clouds brought by the north-east monsoon
02:03will gradually decrease here in the inland areas of Mimaropa.
02:07And the weather will continue to change
02:09for Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.
02:11The early days are still cold
02:13because we are still experiencing the cold winds.
02:16And if we will experience rain,
02:18we will only experience light rains or thunderstorms.
02:21As for Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao,
02:24tomorrow, the rains brought by the shoreline here in Visayas
02:29will continue.
02:30And we are still expecting the effect of the easterly
02:34in the southern portion of Mindanao and Palawan.
02:37So these are the areas of Davao region, Soxargen,
02:41Barm, Zamboanga Peninsula, and Palawan
02:43will experience scattered rains,
02:45with thunderstorms and lightning.
02:47Fair weather conditions are possible to experience tomorrow
02:50in the southern portion of Mindanao,
02:52in the regions of Caraga and Northern Mindanao.
02:56The chances of sudden and fast-moving rainstorms
03:00brought by localized thunderstorms are still there.
03:02And this is our latest weather advisory
03:06that was issued as of 5 p.m. today
03:09for the effect of the shoreline in some parts of our country.
03:13We are still expecting moderate to heavy rains,
03:1650 to 100 millimeters of rain in a span of 24 hours
03:20in the areas shaded by yellow,
03:22in the areas of Albay, Sorsogon, Northern Samar, and Eastern Samar.
03:27So starting this afternoon,
03:29we are expecting moderate to heavy rains
03:33in these areas.
03:35The effect of the shoreline will gradually decrease starting tomorrow.
03:38We will still experience moderate to heavy rains
03:42again in the areas shaded by yellow
03:45in the areas of Sorsogon and Northern Samar.
03:48So we are asking our fellow countrymen
03:52here in Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas
03:54to continue to monitor the rainfall advisories
03:57or heavy rainfall warnings issued by our colleagues
04:01in Pag-asa Regional Centers
04:03for a more detailed advisory for our localities.
04:08As of 5 p.m. today,
04:11we still have high gale warnings
04:13in the eastern seaboards of Southern Luzon and Visayas,
04:16particularly here in the eastern coast of Albay,
04:19here in the eastern coast of Sorsogon,
04:21northern and eastern coasts of Northern Samar,
04:24and in the eastern coast of Eastern Samar.
04:27So to our fellow fishermen
04:29and to those who live in small fishing boats in these areas,
04:33do not go to the seaside
04:34because we will still experience
04:36high waves brought by strong winds.
04:40As for our 3-day weather outlook
04:42in the surrounding areas of our country,
04:45we are hoping for a gradual weakening
04:47or retreat of our winds.
04:49So by Sunday,
04:51this will be the only area of Northern Luzon
04:54that will experience the effects of the northeast monsoon.
04:58So the chances of thunderstorm activity
05:00or convective activity in Metro Manila
05:03and a large part of Southern Luzon.
05:06Because of the effect of the shoreline,
05:08we will still experience rain
05:11or scattered thunderstorms in a large part of Cabiculan,
05:14particularly here in Legazpi City.
05:16We are hoping that by Monday and Tuesday,
05:19the effect of the shoreline will also weaken
05:22in the mentioned areas.
05:24A large part of our country,
05:25by Monday to Tuesday,
05:27will have an Easter list,
05:28which will be our prevailing weather season.
05:31We are hoping for an increase in temperature,
05:34especially in the afternoon and evening.
05:37This is due to the increase of our thunderstorm activity.
05:42As for the areas of Visayas,
05:44in Metro Cebu, Iloilo City, and Tacloban City,
05:47by Sunday,
05:48we will still experience rain brought by shorelines
05:50in Eastern Visayas
05:51and improving weather conditions
05:53in our experience of Monday to Tuesday.
05:57A large part of the inland areas of Visayas,
06:03starting on Sunday,
06:05will experience rain brought by shorelines,
06:07which is why we will experience
06:09improving weather conditions
06:11in the coming days.
06:13However, there are still chances
06:15of thunderstorm activity,
06:16especially in the area of Eastern Visayas,
06:19where in the past few days,
06:21we have witnessed floods and landslides.
06:24We are still hoping that
06:25because the soil is still soft and saturated
06:27due to continuous rains in the past few days,
06:32if we will experience rain,
06:34even if it is just a light rain,
06:37there are still chances of flash floods and landslides.
06:41That is why it is good to monitor
06:42localized updates issued by our regional centers.
06:49In the area of Mindanao,
06:51over the weekend,
06:52from Sunday to Tuesday,
06:53the weather will continue to be clear.
06:56The easterly wind is still blowing,
06:58but it will affect a large part of Mindanao.
07:02Fair weather conditions,
07:03which will be accompanied
07:04by isolated rain showers
07:06or localized thunderstorms.
07:08The highest temperature in Manila
07:11will be below 6.07 in the afternoon,
07:13and will be high tomorrow
07:15at around 5.59 in the morning.
07:17For more information about the weather,
