Landmarks in Hong Kong, Tokyo switch off lights to mark Earth Hour

Landmarks in Hong Kong's Victoria Harbour and Japan's capital, Tokyo, switched off their lights for one hour on Saturday, March 22, to mark Earth Hour, a global campaign to raise awareness of climate change.

Tokyo Tower and skyscrapers across Hong Kong’s iconic Victoria Harbour went dark.

First launched in Sydney in 2007, Earth Hour has primarily focused on the climate crisis but has more recently expanded its mission to highlight the urgent issue of nature loss.
