00:00So, Will, looking at Liverpool, and let's touch on the last week or so in terms of Liverpool's season, obviously.
00:11If we rewind back a bit further than that, they obviously crashed out of the FA Cup, then out of Europe as well to a fantastic PSG side.
00:21Obviously, Arnie Schlott saying it's probably the best game of football he's been involved in over those two legs.
00:26It was great for the neutral as well.
00:28But then they crashed out of Europe and then obviously losing the Carabao Cup final as well.
00:32I mean, they are lucky in this position that the league form is so good and has been so fantastic.
00:39You know, barring that, though, they have crashed out of all three of the competitions.
00:43What's the sort of take?
00:44I mean, you know, we've spoken before and you've been very sure that Liverpool fans would have certainly taken the league over anything else this season.
00:54But it must sort of be a big learning curve for Arnie Schlott and his players.
00:58Yeah, I think so.
01:00I think there's a few people getting a bit annoyed because people saying, oh, they're only going to win the Premier League title.
01:08Well, the Premier League title wasn't even in the equation for Liverpool to start the season because no one expected them to be challenging.
01:15Jürgen Klopp leaving, Arnie Schlott coming in, everyone thought it was going to be a season of transition.
01:22Finishing the top three, top four, qualify for the Champions League, maybe have a good run in the Champions League, maybe win a domestic trophy.
01:30But instead, they're going to win the league.
01:32And as I say, that week, it was, I don't want to say damaging because that has profound connotations because it's not damaging.
01:45They've been two tough blows though to take. PSG won.
01:49They deserve to go out on the balance of the two legs.
01:52You know, they played well in the second leg, just ran out of steam, lost on penalties.
01:58And for me, the Carabao Cup final loss was tougher to take just because of the manner of the performance.
02:07Liverpool didn't turn up, let's be frank.
02:09Newcastle were by far the better side.
02:11They made it difficult for them.
02:14And Liverpool didn't adapt to that.
02:15They looked leggy, they looked fatigued, especially in the engine room.
02:19The front three were lacklustre.
02:23They only really shone a little bit when the substitutes came on, but it was too late.
02:27And I think Arnie Schlott's side will be a learning curve because there have been some fears for a few weeks, a few months now.
02:38Certainly among myself, some colleagues in the press pack and fans as well, Arnie Schlott hasn't utilised his scores enough this season.
02:48I remember asking him before the Champions League game against Lille about Ryan Gravenberch.
02:53At that point, he'd started near enough every Premier League and Champions League game.
02:57He didn't rotate. That Southampton game was a prime example.
03:01Has that just caught up on Liverpool?
03:04They've got a big enough gap, you'd think, to go and win the Premier League.
03:08But looking at next season, Arnie Schlott's going to have to maybe make a few tweaks, trust more of his players.
03:15Does it come down to does he trust enough of the players, the squad that he's inherited?
03:20When he gets some of his own players in, will he look to rotate a little bit more?
