00:00Looking at Liverpool, the key headline after almost 10 games in the Premier League season
00:07was that they hadn't really played anyone to get a real test of what Arnie Schlott's
00:12doing at the club. He said that himself and then a few games later they've had some real
00:17tests and they've been up to them as well. Are they proving the doubters wrong? They're
00:23looking like the business. Obviously Manchester City lose their unbeaten streak as well.
00:29Arsenal are suffering. Liverpool just seem to be, yes they lost against Nottingham Forest
00:35at Anfield but other than that they've been pretty flawless so far in this Premier League
00:39campaign.
00:40Well that Nottingham Forest defeat isn't actually looking as bad as you might have
00:44thought it would at the time because Nottingham Forest, as we speak, are third in the table
00:48flying and Arnie Schlott I think is still a little bit ached by that. Given how dominant
00:53Liverpool were in that game against Forest, you have to take some positives from that
00:59given what's happened.
01:00As you say, after the season restarted following the international break, this was a massive
01:07run of fixtures when you looked at it. The likes of Chelsea, Arsenal, RB Leipzig in the
01:13Champions League and Liverpool haven't lost a game. They've only dropped points against
01:18Arsenal, which okay, Liverpool weren't exactly great but you're going away to a team that's
01:25finished runner-up in the past two seasons. It was always going to be difficult for Liverpool
01:30and they showed the grit and resilience that is required. Chelsea, they were very good
01:37for the most part but the Jackson got old, I can't really remember. Chelsea have an awful
01:42lot of chances. Brighton as well, we know that they're flying and Liverpool were pretty
01:50poor in the first half but you have to give a lot of compliments to Brighton. Again, Liverpool
01:54sorted themselves out at half-time. It was almost like a coming of age for Schlott. It
02:01almost felt like that was the day he was announced as Liverpool manager. At the end, there were
02:06some raucous scenes at Anfield and it almost got those fans trying to build up the clock.
02:13Fist-pumps were on and Schlott politely declined that but when you're getting that sort of
02:21reaction, that's when you know that you've been welcomed in and all the doubts have maybe
02:27been proved wrong. As we speak, they've got Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League,
02:31a massive game, these are German champions, then Aspen Villa. If Liverpool don't lose
02:36those two games, then they're not going to lose many games at all this season, are they?
02:44After the next break, okay, they've got Manchester City up pretty quickly but Liverpool could
02:50raffle up quite a few points from now between the festive periods. Once it hits the halfway
02:56stage, I think if Liverpool are banging the mix, then I think you'd be disappointed if
03:00they don't go all the way and challenge for a title until the end of the season.
