00:00Looking at Liverpool, as we come to the midway point of this season, it's been pretty flawless
00:07so far. Arnie Schlott's impact at the club, whether that be off the pitch as well, the
00:11fans have taken so well to him. If you compare it to 12 months ago, there was a bit of a
00:18strange time for them. Obviously, Jürgen Klopp had announced he was leaving and maybe
00:22Liverpool fans didn't really know what to expect from Schlott's reign. But as we are
00:27halfway through the season, just look back at his start. I mean, it's been pretty flawless
00:31both domestically and in Europe as well.
00:35Well, certainly in Europe it's been flawless because they've won six games, they're into
00:39the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup and the Premier League. Who would have thought that
00:45they would be six points clear? Let's stress that through all the disappointment there
00:49was after the Man United draw, they still moved six points clear of Arsenal and with
00:54the game in hands. I think if Liverpool were joint top, second, third within two points
01:01of the leaders, then a lot of people would have been happy, to be honest. No one was
01:05quite sure how it would transpire after Arnie Schlott took over from Jürgen Klopp and there
01:09was so much made about whether he'd be able to fill the void, whether he was a good enough
01:15head coach. Well, he certainly answered those doubts. He's lost one game and he lost one
01:22game in 2024 at the finals at Liverpool. He's still playing it down, he still thinks
01:30there's a long way to go and Liverpool fans aren't getting carried away because of a blip,
01:34there could be injuries. I think it's gone better than anyone would have expected. I
01:41think even the hierarchy at Liverpool probably weren't expecting it to be this good. They'd
01:46probably been helped a little bit along the way, maybe Man City obviously had their fault
01:52Arsenal have had a couple of injuries now to Sacher and Odegaard, but these things happen
02:00across the course of a season. It's not like Liverpool have been stuttering themselves.
02:05They've lost one game and that was against Nottingham Forest who themselves are a very
02:10good outfit and they're pushing for Europe this season. So I don't think it's quite as
02:16easy to say that just because Man City are having a woeful season that Liverpool are
02:21flying. They're certainly taking advantage and the precedent is set now. They've got to go on
02:29and win the league. If they didn't go on and win the league then it would be a capitulation,
02:34let's be honest. I think a lot of fans take the league and maybe one of the trophies in
02:40the Semifinals of the Carabao Cup, obviously performing well in the Champions League,
02:43but it'll be a different ball game when the knockout stage starts and then the FA Cup as
02:49well. It could depend on how moody you are after having to get past Atherton Stanley.
