00:00Brayden Winner and Canadian Horse of the Year Starship Jubilee was a fan favorite on the
00:06racetrack and even now as a broodmare, she's still the pride and joy of Blue Heaven Farm.
00:11We stopped by to meet her second foal, a filly by Quality Road.
00:16The mare Starship, she kind of lives her life the way that she lived it as a racehorse.
00:22Everything is high energy, enthusiastic, always has to be first at everything.
00:27But yeah, great mom, great paddock mate.
00:30She's tight with a couple of the other mares and she's settled in really, really well.
00:35She has a Quality Road filly that was foaled on March 14th.
00:40The mare is kind of medium sized, very strong, big strong hip, strong shoulder, and Quality
00:46Road is known to kind of throw some more leg and stretch, so that was kind of why we went
00:50that route.
00:51Plus, she's also just an incredible sire of racehorses and a great commercial sire.
00:56So we just kind of tried to give her something that maybe could stretch her out a little
00:59bit.
01:00But yeah, the foal, I think at this point, obviously it's very early, but kind of looks
01:03like a nice combination, has some of her kind of shoulder and hip, but some leg from him
01:09hopefully.
01:10So generally, we kind of look to sell most of what we raise, but obviously when it's
01:14a filly out of one of our better mares, that's always something that's sort of in the back
01:18of our mind.
01:19I'd say right now, just kind of follow her along and see how things look kind of commercially
01:24or otherwise.
01:25I think the sky's the limit.
01:26The two years that we had her in training were just an incredible experience for us.
01:31We were just so lucky and fortunate to be a part of it.
01:34We bought her as a broodmare prospect, but we were very lucky that our trainer, Kevin
01:38Attard, really thought that she was just getting better and better.
01:41And one of my favorite races of hers was when she won the Ballston Spa at Saratoga.
01:47To be able to go to New York and compete against the top, top horses of her division and to
01:54win was just, you know, we always believed in her, but for her to do that kind of on
01:58a national stage was, was really incredible.
02:01And then of course, you know, the two grade one wins that she had on the EP Taylor and
02:05the Rico Woodbine Mile was just an incredible thing.
02:09And you know, just the heart that she showed and the toughness was just a, I guess, memories
02:14that will be left with for forever, you know.
02:17And there were a couple of races where there were four generations of our family were there
02:21to see her run.
02:22So it was a really a great thing for our family and continues to be.
02:25The racing memories were amazing, but you know, this part of it is, is just as fun to
02:30have her, you know, we'd love looking forward to keeping a filly or fillies out of her down
02:34the road and just really have her legacy being a big part of Blue Heaven Farm forever, hopefully.
